It was so different from what I was expecting - I think that's what threw me.

If you read the next one, let me know what you think. I will get there some day :-)

Sharon Cohen 1- first 4 of the indeath books (naked, glory, immortalRapture, and Vengence in death)
2- Feed and Deadline by Myra Grant The Newsflesh trilogy Blackout is the 3rd book.
4- working for the devil by Lilith St. Croix
5-gone Girl
6- Enders Game
Thanks to everyone who suggested I read the grant series first. I'll star rear next month. You guys are a font of knowledge.

May I suggest the hollows series which stars Rachael Morgan, a white white witch, ivy, her vampire roommate, and Jenks, a pixie. They are supernatural private investigators. The books are thrillers, psychological fiction and comedy. These books are adult books, not young adult so the writing and stories are mature.

I also think that the Guildhunter series is also excellent. Iris a mixture of paranormal, romance, thriller and seriously suspenseful. They are written by the renowned Nalini Singh. It is far better than her psYchallenging series which is pure romance

message 398: by Courtney (new)

Courtney (sekay88) Just finished The Surgeon (Rizzoli & Isles, #1) by Tess Gerritsen , Rizzoli & Isles #1. Was surprised at (1) how good - and intense - it was and (2) how different from the few episodes that I've seen of the TV show.

Also finished the Sharpe & Donovan prequel Rock Point (Sharpe & Donovan, #0.5) by Carla Neggers . Disappointing.

Now reading Forever Watching You by M.A. Comley , Mel Comley's first in the new DI Miranda Carr series. Hopefully as good as the Justice/Lorne Simpkins series.

Thank you Sharon for suggesting the Guild Hunter and Hollows series'. Have to check 'em out. Finding that I really like UF.

The first season was closer to the tone of the books but since the second and beyond, not even close.

I've struggled with Neggers writing. It's a bit too descriptive for me. What did you find disappointing?

The story was 'blah', the suspense non-existent, and no new ground was covered. Everything in the novella was in the first four books - which I did like, although they are slower than what I usually like. Sharpe & Donovan are likeable characters which makes up for it, so far.
