Task 25.4: Tien's Task: Staying At Home
Two Book Task. Read one book for each option.
Book1 Task 1: Books in hand.
Read a book you have had in your possession since before January 1, 2020.
This was easy since I almost never read a book right after I buy it. I read THE LAST HOUSE GUEST by Megan Miranda. One of the hottest books Summer of 2019 and I didn't read it! I bought it when it appeared in Reese's Book Club list August, 2019.
The Last House Guest
It wasn't the most compelling mystery I ever read, but it got better after I read the first few chapters when I thought "Oh no! Not another book about rich people!"
Book 2 Task 2: New Books
Support those authors whose launches were cancelled by reading a book first published March --July, 2020 State first publication date.
I am soooo happy to report I read VALENTINE by Elizabeth Bisland, aka Elizabeth Wetmore, that was first published March 31, 2020.
Valentine
Being a native Texan I could really identify with the book and I could feel the heat, the hate and the hopelessness. I am team Valentine all the way!
PS: I noticed the author's name has been changed, perhaps for better marketing purposes but my copy from Book Of The Month has the original author's name and the original press stated it as "Wetmore". Fun Fact: Elizabeth Bisland is the name of the woman who raced Nelly Bly in their "Around the World in Eighty Days" challenge. Great choice for a pen name!
