Meghan (meghanly) | 336 comments 20.9 Eureka!
Option 3: Read a book where someone's life changes dramatically, either for the better or for the worse, by an event such as a death in the family, a move to a new town or country, a significant job change.

REQUIRED: Explain what dramatic life change the character has experienced.

Hidden Valley Road: Inside the Mind of an American Family by Robert Kolker

Explanation: The mom, Mimi, though not the only main character, had a dramatic life change when the oldest of her twelve children had a psychotic break and was diagnosed with schizophrenia. Subsequently, 5 of her other children also were diagnosed with varying forms of mental illness (schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, etc). The novel delved into the dramatic changes this had on all of the family, but the mother seemed to have to face the most, as her "ideal" family image she tried to cultivate was completely blown apart.
