I used option 1, the two book option.
For my first book, I used option A and read Old Man's War. I listened to the audiobook, linked to the MMPB. This book is found on p. 1 of the Excellent Space Opera list.
For my second book, I used option B and read a kindle ARC of Growing Old: Notes on Aging with Something like Grace by Elizabeth Marshall Thomas. I linked to the hardback copy (no pb or MMPB).
