I finished Love Is Murder by Allison Brennan, Lucy Kincaid #.5, and am SO glad we decided to read the earlier trilogies in preparation for this series. It’s a short story but well done and an excellent intro to the adult Lucy. Here’s my review.

I finished listening to Hideaway by Nora Roberts. Review to come on release day.

I finished listening to Family for Beginners by Sarah Morgan and loved it! Morgan is definitely now an auto read. Here’s my review.

I finished listening to Three Little Lies by Laura Marshall and I had some difficulty getting through all the time shifts and opaque characters. I liked it, didn’t love it. Here’s my review.

I’m listening to The Summer Set by Aimee Agresti and reading Behind His Blue Eyes by Kaki Warner, Heroes of Heartbreak Creek #1, a spinoff of Heartbreak Creek.

I remember when I read that trilogy...so long ago. I loved that book. The middle one was not great for me but I have mostly enjoyed all the Bishop FBI books a lot by Kay Hooper. I should read those again and see if they hold up over time! Glad you're reading and enjoying!

I read it years ago and just checked my review where I apparently enjoyed it a lot! Don’t know why I didn’t continue with the series as I collected most of the books along the way.

Enjoy!

Being off of work for this pandemic has helped. I have stalled on He Said/She Said by Erin Kelly. OMG it's so sloooooooow moving. I'm about 90% and it's finally getting interesting. This is the third time I've tried to listen to it and I'll finally finish it tonight. I've also had a cozy I've been reading all month too and the Maryjanice Davidson I started forever ago is still only half done. I'm thinking all those just aren't great to not hold my attention.

It’s release day for Hideaway by Nora Roberts and here’s my review. I really enjoyed this story, especially listening to it as it’s narrated by the fabulous January LaVoy, though you should know the suspense element is low. It’s more contemporary romance with suspense elements.

I finished listening to The Summer Set by Aimee Agresti and I liked it but didn’t love it. But, it offered some fascinating insights into the theater world. Here’s my review.

I finished listening to In Five Years by Rebecca Serle and couldn’t put it down, finishing it the same day. Be forewarned it is not a traditional romance in the least so set your expectations accordingly. I loved it, though. Here’s my review.

I’m listening to Eight Perfect Murders by Peter Swanson.

I'll probably start on the 4th Mercy Kilpatrick book in a week or two. I havent done my review for the 3rd yet and don't want to mix the two up. My apartment doesn't have A/C and I just don't seem to be able to concentrate in the heat.

I'm actually in Iowa and it's about 93 today. My apartment is a second floor of an old house and there are only a few windows that open. Since it's an old house all rooms are compartmentalized so no cross breezes. I have a window unit in my bedroom I keep on 76 so Bastien doesn't get heat stroke but it's occupying the one outlet I have.....old houses equals one outlet per room usually. So if I want to watch tv or use my computer I have to leave my room. My hallway thermostat is currently reading 88. And this is just the start of hot weather! 😆 I really need to live somewhere it is 75 all year long.... got any ideas?

Christina, I’ve thought about every area in the country for possible retirement and there’s dangerous or uncomfortable weather phenomena everywhere!

I’d love to live in Colorado but fear the winters would do me in.

message 145: by Christina T (new)

Christina T (crysteena73) | 558 comments I have as well Jonetta. I have family in Seattle and their summers are not terrible but it is pretty rainy the other 9 months. When it snows it doesn't last as long as ours does in the Midwest. I also have family in the Phoenix area but my Aunt and Uncle flee the area in the summer and have a condo in Huntington Beach California. California just is too expensive for me to ever be able to retire there.

I love Colorado too Jonetta. I suppose once I retire a snow storm wouldn't bother me since I wouldn't necessarily have to leave my home during one and their summers are perfect.
