Yeah me too, I really enjoy their exchanges.
And Iain is right, Sanderson does that a lot, showing you characters from different POVs, which allways shows you a different facet if the person.

Yes, that last bit you said about them being so different but understanding one another is so true. You can see the love that they have for one another. And I love that Renarin doesn’t resent Adolin at all.

Yes, that's something I live about Dalinar. Even though he can't believe Kaladin yet, he still listened carefully. Also we only saw the conversation from Kaladin's POV. And as we know from the way the sees Adolin, his view of lighteyes is always slightly tainted, so maybe he only interpreted it that way...

Yeah, I definitely thought that about the way Kaladin interpreted it. To me, knowing Dalinar, he was not brushing it aside or dismissing Kaladin at all, but Kaladin can’t see past him being lighteyed and doen’t know him well enough yet. I will be interested to see what Dalinar thinks when it switches back to him.

Really enjoyed the fight between Szeth and Dalinar, Kaladin and Adolin. I'm impressed again by Sanderson ability to write fighting scenes.

Fight scenes are my fave and you’re right they’re so well done!

And ooooh, that's why his folk named Szeth a Truthless? Because he said something they consider untrue and that was that he saw the Knights Radiant returning (or something similar)! Actually I might know the answer, but I can't remember how he became Truthless.

I know, but it’s a result of his station isn’t it. I think that they could, as I said before they’re very similar, but they both need to get past their prejudices against each other and stop being so hot-headed. I think if they worked together and gradually began to trust each other more, they’d be pretty formidable as a pair. (Which is probably what Sanderson intends…)

Chapter 52 was so cool, both Shallan and Kaladin displaying their abilities. Kaladin was so carefree and joyous, I loved it. He seemed to get a hang of lashings really quickly.
And damn, there go my speculations about where Shallan got her shardblade. This does not bode well for Kaladin.

There's also a line that says roughly translated that: if there was nothing wrong it could be because you are safe or because someone already knew where you were but hadn't done anything yet. Just finished part 3 and oh my god, but let's start where I left off

Chapter 55(view spoiler)[Hoid is back! About the flute. I'm not sure if I remember that correctly, but when Shallan was at Amarams place, some servant there was cleaning the flutes, right? Could the flute have ended up there?

Chapters 56-58 (view spoiler)[That was so intense! The fighting scenes were amazing, Kaladin and Adolin were amazing and Renarin was so brave to come to his brothers aid. That was truly epic. Iain you set up a high bar and it did not disappoint haha

But damn that ending... I love you Kaladin, but you are in the wrong here. He is getting completely obsessed with Amaram. And I get it, I do, it's just that... well, as Syl says, I don't like what he get like when thinking about Amaram. Maybe I would've felt stronger about Amaram if we got more around him. As it is, we've seen him in the past and we've seen his betrayal, but I just don't feel as strongly about it as I would if he were something that happened to Kaladin in the present and something we'd see him go through.

That said, objectively Dalinar really has no reason to go against Amaram. He's known him for ages and thinks him an honorable man. 17 witnesses collaborated his story and his unwillingness to fight in the duel is still to fresh in Dalinars mind to take hold. On the other hand, Kaladin is still just a fresh soldier and even though he proved capable and saved Dalinars life more than once, Dalinar still doesn't know much about him.
That's logic, I know, and Kaladin's strong feelings about Amaram prevent him from thinking logically. Oh, Kaladin don't take it out on Dalinar.
I fear this will lead to Kaladin siding with Moash to kill the king. And it does not bode well for Adolin/Kaladin/Dalinar triangle. Uff, I couldn't continue reading immediately after this, too many emotions. (hide spoiler)]

Kaladin did the lashing! So cool. I love how the others are so excited for him. Even Kaladin wonders why the stormlight has never healed his scars; I think it's a subconscious thing on his part, those wounds run deeper than merely just a part of his body that's been hurt.

But I will protect Dalinar Kholin with everything I have. I will learn who he is, who he really is. Then, maybe... we'll give him his knights radiant.

And so surprised Renarin wants to join Bridge 4! Bless him, I do feel sorry for him. I wonder if Kaladin will be able to help him with his epilepsy. It's so funny how there's a year between them, but Kaladin seems so much older.

Chapter 43 (view spoiler)[ Shallan's light weaving is getting more interesting and could actually be quite useful if you consider all the advantages it could give the Kholin family, particularly for spying and politics. (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 44 (view spoiler)[ Adolin being ignored by Shallan after bragging to Kaladin made me smile. She could be a bit too witty for him to keep up with. I like that Adolin also confided in Kaladin before he realised what he was doing.

I don't like the way Moash is so eager with the Shardblades. And Kaladin confronted him! I'm surprised he admitted it! I do get the feeling though, that Kaladin is going to be horribly betrayed by Moash.. I don't want to believe it because I love that he was initially so critical of Kaladin and then ended up being so loyal and close to him but Syl trying to indicate not to say anymore about what Amaram did to him doesn't bode well.. I just don't want Kaladin to have his heart broken again. :(

Also, I wonder why Syl doesn't like the Shardblades? The Knights Radiant used them too after all... (hide spoiler)]

But as we can see, it just being around him and witnessing everything that he did has still messed her up good. So I completely agree, she is pretty strong for turning out how she did. Ah, so that was Wit that Shallan met when she was younger! I really enjoyed that whole scene of them recognising him in turn. Poor Kaladin doesn't know what to make of him lol. That thing he said about there not being many women around for him, he must be ancient. I wonder what kind of being he is because he's obviously not human?

Have to admit that Kaladin was pretty dour following Adolin and Shallan about. I think Choko is right, he does have SAD too. I wish he could find some joy in his life but that would take him confronting and making peace with everything that's happened to him first.

And the solution to dueling that Shallan gave to Adolin; possibly a way for Kaladin to get justice from Amaram?

Anyway... Hoid is human, I think... people that know how to hop between worlds also know how to slow or stop aging... probably something to do with Investiture... also probably multiple ways of doing it... Vin figured out how the Lord Ruler did it in the first Mistborn trilogy, using Feruchemy and Allomancy... there are alot of theories and evidence about what magic systems Hoid has access to, and the dangers incoming when we reach the sci-fi trilogy where magic systems interact more... Lift (view spoiler)[That was one long chapter. I like the Lift/Wyndel dynamics. I feel a bit sorry for poor Wyndel. He's a spren, but I imagine him like a kind elderly person. I find the concept of eating food to get stormlight so interesting.

Lift is/was, actually my least favorite character for a time... basically until things happened in book 3 (altho that's being unfair to her and villains like Sadeus)... I just found her annoying... (view spoiler)["Lift became awesome"... that's basically how every chapter she narrates starts... it's how she perceives the world and her use of Stormlight... altho, it's important to note how peculiar her abilities are... she shouldn't be able to touch Wyndle like that, or gain investiture from eating food... there are definite reasons for this, tho, that we can talk more about in book 3 or after Edgedancer (or after I make sure what is revealed in her Interlude)... but I think it had great potential for exploitation... Lift is basically the only person that can have unlimited Radiant ability usage during that time of year on Roshar when there are no storms to refill the spheres... but it also leads to her excessive eating habits... And don't even get me started on my favorite pipe dream... a buddy comedy with Lift and (view spoiler)[stoic Szeth (hide spoiler)]... there's this great sequence in book 3 that inspires my hopes and dreams :D ...
