Murder on the Orient Express and
Three Act Tragedy
Full list at page 2 message 94
Just completed another selection for Sarah Addison Allen - The Peach Keeper. I love Allen's writing and her stories. It's like being wrapped up in comfort and told a lovely fairy tale by a family member. This book is no different - good characters that are forced to accept who they are when faced with unusual, slightly supernatural circumstances. Definitely worth reading! 4 stars One more book to go for this author!
Just completed my 2nd selection for Jojo Moyes - Me Before You. This book was gripping and emotional and heartfelt. I guess I should have been prepared for the plot, given the title, but even after I figured it out, I was still so emotionally invested in the characters, it didn't matter. Definitely worth reading! 4.5 stars
Just completed another selection for Kristan Higgins - My One and Only. Overall, I enjoyed this book. However, while I felt the characters were a bit more complex than some of Higgins' other books, the story was lacking some of her signature humor. Worth reading! 4 stars

Total: 0/1
I think I'll add Harper Lee to my challenge. I just finished To Kill a mockingbird and I plan on reading her new novel once it's published this summer. So my current total and goal would be
4/9 books with 1 of 4 authors finished.
Just finished another Higgins' book - Too Good to Be True. Classic Higgins! Good, interesting, likeable characters with a quick plot and funny bits. Definitely worth reading! 4 stars
Just completed another Jojo Moyes - The Girl You Left Behind. In the end, I really liked this book. However, it took my quite awhile to actually get invested in the story. It felt like in the beginning of the book, I had been dropped into the middle of a story I didn't understand, and not in a good way. Things shaped up a bit when the story moved to modern times. Overall, at the end, I loved the story and characters, it just took me awhile. 4 stars
As with many other challenges-- Better late than never! I'm joining and I plan on reading the complete works of two American illustrator/authors. I plan on reading books they both wrote and illustrated, wrote, OR illustrated. This will be a fascinating study on how they grew as both authors and illustrators, as well as seeing if they got ideas from books they illustrated...Virginia Lee Burton (view spoiler)
9/9
Brian Selznick (view spoiler)
15/26
Here's to complete works!
Just finished my last Sarah Addison Allen book, which means I have completed my first author!! The Girl Who Chased the Moon by Sarah Addison Allen. I love Allen's mix of Southern fiction with fantastical elements! It's a perfect blend and always a treat to read! This book is a great representation of that - wonderful, complex characters with completely believable mystic abilities. Well-written and heart-warming! Definitely worth reading! 4.5 stars1/4
The second Tartt, The Little Friend, read message 105.
I liked this much better than The Secret history but maybe it is because of summer, Mississippi felt pretty amazing. The ending was little bit wtf but.. then.. I read The Weed That Strings the Hangman's Bag along with this and it was too weird how many elements and even plot points were same, like he would like to solve this book. I still think this was better though.
I've added Stieg Larrson (fiction books only) to my challengeFinished The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo
Books 5/12, 1/5 Authors Completed
https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...Just updated message #21 with my finishes to date. I started this with good intentions, but I keep getting pulled to read other titles. I may not get my three chosen complete works finished this year, but I will at some point!
UPDATE:So, it turns out that one of the books I had listed for Ayn Rand is actually part of a collection I already had listed. I have removed that and corrected the numbers. (And I corrected my math as the number of books didn't add up to the goal I had listed!)

Time to re-assess this challenge. We have less than 24 weeks in the year, and I have 25 Anne Rice books left in my challenge, to say nothing of the Murakami and Massie books. I've also got other books I really want to read this year, so it's time for a re-vamp.I'm limiting my challenge to Anne Rice, and I'll see how far I get on that. Some are rather short, but 8 are over 500 pages. So from today, 25 to go!

I updated Message 65 to show my progress. I'm really enjoying the Jojo Moyes novels- she's easily becoming my favorite author.
I would like to join. I think I can either finish it by December OR have enough already read to get some of these marked off. I am going to post this and then when I get all my challenges added to my corner, I am going to go through my “2015 books” list and see if any of those match the criteria.

To go:
Gulp: Adventures on the Alimentary Canal
Spook: Science Tackles the Afterlife
My Planet: Finding Humor in the Oddest Places
Updated message 231: I'm now done with 7/11 books by Virginia Lee Burton and 3/26 books for Brian Selznick. Since they are both author/illustrators I am reading works they only illustrated for as well. I enjoy reading these other authors and seeing their unique images connecting everything.
Just edited message #21 with an August re-vamp. To finish both complete works, I need to finish 20 books by Anne Rice and 9 by Haruki Murakami. I'm joining a buddy read for Murakami, and it looks like I can finish his works by the end of the year. Per the guidelines, I've opted to exclude his short story collections.Anne Rice is more challenging. With a busy work schedule, I depend on audiobooks to make use of my drive time and to listen while doing things at home. With the exception of her Vampire Chronicles and Sleeping Beauty series, few books are available in unabridged audio. I'll see how far I get by year end!
Just completed another selection by Jojo Moyes - The Horse Dancer. Impressively good story with lots of depth. I am consistently amazed by Moyes' complicated and loveable characters. Great writing! Definitely worth reading! 4.5 stars
