Carol Cox has some that are set in Arizona. Iowa's a hard one. Other than the LFY 'series' (and Rachel Fordham), I'm not thinking of anything off the top of my head.
Edited to add this list: https://www.goodreads.com/list/show/1...
which reminds me of Melissa Tagg's 'Walker Family' series which I completely forgot is set in Iowa.

Staci, I also have bookshelves for most, if not all, states on my GR page. Not all books on them are Christian. You're welcome to peruse the shelves.

MissyTexas | 248 comments Hi, I am working on the “THANKS” challenge this month and have a $5 gift card at B&N to spend on ebook. For the “A” “N” “K” and/or “S”, looking for at least one strong heavy Christian novel/fiction, with focus around any combination of mother, daughter, and grandmother relationship. No heavy romance.

Looking forward to any suggestions, not limited to the $5 but cool if was….so did not impact the buyers challenge too. ;)

Hey, Missy! When you described what kind of novel you were searching for, my mind immediately went to Lynn Austin's work . . . she's written several books with a 'women's generations' type focus.
Two I'd recommend for the the 'A' would be All She Ever Wanted All She Ever Wanted by Lynn Austin and All Things New All Things New by Lynn Austin . I thought the second one was especially good.

Does anyone have any suggestions for a book with a piece of playground equipment on the cover? I looked at a few of my shelves where I thought such a thing might be likely to find, but am coming up empty-handed.

Kate, I have a cover in mind, but cannot think of the name of the author. I searched through some of my shelves, but no luck yet. I'll keep looking. The author's name will come to me eventually.

I wonder if a tree swing counts as playground equipment?
I found All the Promises by Deborah Raney by Deborah Raney in my Kindle. I have not read it yet, but I have enjoyed other books by this author.

I was thinking that my L-I shelf would have something for me, too, Paula, and nope! I just don't have the right books in my queue apparently!😂
Thanks, Lynette and Staci . . . both of those are great options!
(Lynette, I just looked at my Kindle, and apparently didn't realise that I also own the Deborah Raney book! haha . . . oops!)

message 283: by Paula (new)

Paula Shreckhise | 238 comments I looked on Amazon and couldn’t find one in LI either. And I looked for a couple authors I thought for sure had a swingset on the front. I found one with a tricycle.

Looking for suggestions on books set in Mexico or written by a Mexican author. This is for my annual library challenge. Down to the final two categories and this is one of them.

Dangerous Beauty A Novel by Melissa Koslin
This is pretty good. It's not solely set in Mexico but some scenes do take place there and the MC is a girl who is trafficked in from Mexico.

Does it need to be Christian Fiction, Staci? If not, The Murmur of Bees by Sofía Segovia would work for both setting and author. I gave it five stars. However, I read it in 2019 and I cannot remember if there was any bad language or content, so please forgive me if there is.

Another suggestion might be the GM YA novel Esperanza Rising Esperanza Rising by Pam Muñoz Ryan . I read it a couple of years ago and absolutely loved it. The book starts out in Mexico, and I believe the author is of Mexican descent, though she was born in California.

If you enjoy mysteries/suspense, here are two:
The Night of Four Hundred Rabbits by Elizabeth Peters - set in Mexico City
Running Blind (Heroes for Hire, #3) by Shirlee McCoy - only some parts in Mexico
