Hi everyone! I'm stuck on my Trip To the Zoo. I need a book with a water fountain or a waterfall on the cover. Anything except regency romance or historical fiction would be great!

…set in Africa.

(a different type of blended family)
Lisa Harris has some Love Inspired Suspense books set in Africa.Irma Joubert has novels set in South Africa. I've read
,
, and
. The Child of the river is entirely set in South Africa. The othe other two are partly set in Europe.
is set in North Africa.
Karen wrote: "Does anyone have any suggestions of Christian Fiction that features a blended family?"Denise Hunter's Riverbend series has a blended family. They're all adults in the series, but their family background plays a role.
In the Title Search challenge, we are looking for a book title with an adverb. I read More Than a Pretty Face, and I'm pretty sure that 'more' is used as an adverb in this title. Just wanted to double-check this with you guys. Thanks! :)
Could you explain your reasoning Jenn? I'm not seeing 'more' as an adverb here, but it's been a few decades since I took any English classes . . . when you explain, I'll likely see it. 😉
"More" can be an adjective, adverb, noun, or pronoun. It depends on how it is used. I believe it's an adjective in "More Than A Pretty Face".

Ju..."I think more is an adverb - it is modifying the implied comparison. additionally, it describes the degree of the the implied adjective.
It is an odd example since "More Than a Pretty Face" is not a complete sentence but the word more sets up the comparison as though it were a full sentence.
When I looked it up, I was thinking it was used as an adverb of degree (shows how much, or in what degree or to what extent). I also searched 'more than' and I saw that it is an adverbial phrase. I understand if you won't allow it; it's probably a bit of a stretch with it being an incomplete sentence.
I'm not the one who would allow/disallow . . . the title challenge is under Andrea's jurisdiction. (if it were up to me I'd absolutely allow it!)
But I love learning new things, and I had no idea what an adverb of degree even was! Thank you, friends! 😊

"More than" is an adverbial phrase used in comparisons. I'll take it as an adverb. Nice find!

by Catherine Palmer is a fun book set in Mali, Africa (a bit like a CF version of Indiana Jones), and it is the first of a series with other books set in Tanzania, Kenya, (if I remember correctly, they can stand alone)
by Patricia St. John is Christian juvenile fiction set in Morocco (an excellent author who has written many books for young people)
by Patricia C. McKissack is clean juvenile historical fiction set in Angola (I really enjoyed it, and found it full of historical detail with a positive message)
by Jane Kurtz is also clean juvenile historical fiction set in Ethiopia (beautiful poetic writing)
by T.L. Higley is Christian historical fiction set in Egypt during the time of Cleopatra (featuring the library at Alexandria)Of course, many more Biblical fiction novels are also set in Egypt!
