Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9975 comments Had anyone told me, before I began reading Sulari Gentill's Rowland Sinclair series, that I would actually choose to read fiction laced with a hefty dose of Australian political history, I would have questioned their sanity. But when Sulari serves it up, it's not only interesting and easy to absorb, but also hugely entertaining.
A Dangerous Language, #8 in the series, is another 5★ read.

Carolyn | 9840 comments My review for Little Bookshop of Murder (A Beach Reads Mystery, #1) by Maggie Blackburn Little Bookshop of Murder by Maggie Blackburn which had all the right ingredients for a good cosy mystery turned out to be somewhat disappointing.

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9975 comments This is the first time I’ve partaken of a novel provided by The Pigeonhole to be read in daily instalments. It’s an interesting experience, but I’m not sure if Aussie journalist and author, Katherine Firkin’s debut Sticks and Stones would have been better read in one sitting. A good first effort.

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9975 comments Having read Michael Robotham's first Cyrus Haven book, I was very pleased to get an early copy of the sequel, When She Was Good via NetGalley. I was not disappointed. You're all in for another Robotham treat on July 28th.

PattyMacDotComma | 3299 comments Of course I knew I'd enjoy a trip to Botswana with Alexander McCall Smith's Mma Ramotswe and her No.1 Ladies' Detective Agency. Morality for Beautiful Girls is the third enjoyable book, and there are more!

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9975 comments I haven't read any books by Gene Wolfe but as I have the sequel, Interlibrary Loan to read on NetGalley, I thought I'd better read the first book, A Borrowed Man. Quite fascinating: a dystopian/sci-fi/murder mystery all rolled into one.

This one has been getting some great reviews so I'm keen to read it. Had to skim your review because looks like you have a few spoilers there and I want to go into this one blind I think!

PattyMacDotComma | 3299 comments Silver, by Aussie author Chris Hammer, follows journalist Martin Scarsden from Hammer's popular Scrublands. It's not quite the relaxing move to the coast Scarsden was hoping for, but it's a good read!
