This one is 3 book of the series...so still readable.
Dark Star
by Alan FurstA tale of espionage, told in the form of a semi-diary by Andre Szara, taking place in 1937 in Moscow, Paris, Berlin, Prague and elsewhere. Szara is a Russian journalist co-opted into the spy game and this is his story. I am a big fan of Furst's novels but I think this one is not his best because it is so long and so complicated, with a list of names like a Russian novel, which it sort of is. I love the way Furst writes, the language is very evocative and gives a great feel for time and place but this one only gets 3 stars. Good, but not great.
Excellent first novel in a series, the 1st Ellie Cooper thriller, Rock Paper Tiger by Lisa Brackmann. Loved it (5 stars) My review belowhttps://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Starting my next new series, the 1st Gideon Fell mystery, Hag's Nook: A Gideon Fell Mystery by John Dickson Carr
Finished The Secret Child Rating: 2.75🌟 its a little disappointing. I wanted to so like it.

Listening to Girl in 6e by A R Torre. 🤔 love the story but I find the speaker really annoying, I hate the horrible woman doing men’s voices ugh so unbelievable just read it. Lol sorry rant over
Robert Dugoni has written the second in the Charles Jenkins series. The Last Agent
It’s a fun, suspenseful spy thriller. Here’s my four star review:

I expect most readers here are familiar with Daphne du Maurier. I just read Jamaica Inn, a suspenseful "it was a dark and stormy night . . ." thriller.
4★ Link to my "Jamaica Inn" review
Interviewing The Dead by David Field is the first in his Carlyle & West Victorian Mystery Series. London, 1892, ghosts of plague victims - what?? A doctor and a preacher join forces to investigate.

Sycamore Row
by John GrishamIn this 2nd book in the 'Jake Brigance' series, the attorney gets involved in a monumental fight over a will. The novel works fine as a standalone.

The Black Angel
by John ConnollyCharlie Parker #5. I read this one out of order and it was a mistake. Recommend the series be read in order -- people die. That aside, this wasn't one of Connolly's best. Some outstanding scenes and descriptions though. 3 stars.
