I discovered, that in some ways they have "shifted" and possibly improved to some extent, but it sounds as if there is still room for a lot of improvement .

For my first book, I chose option 4, and read Vincalis the Agitator. When I sorted my TBR by date added, this was #5 (with #1 being the oldest on the list). I joined GR in January 2010, and added this book to the list on February 25, 2010.
For my second book, I chose option 6, and read Captive Queen: A Novel of Eleanor of Aquitaine. She was queen of France for a short time, then queen of England - and most of the other significant characters in the book are also royalty.
