Surely at least one of these will come up during the year!

I updated my list in the above thread for now, but may change out a couple before we finalize. Except for the buddy reads - I'm not changing those.

How exciting! That should be fun. It's been in one of my nightstand TBR Towers for ages. I've seen the movie and the Broadway show, so it is way past time for me to read the book.

Amy | 12913 comments Idit - this thread is crashing on my phone app too! That happened for November Horizons. I have learned I can only look at this thread on the computer. So glad to hear I'm not the only one this is happening to, but so sorry its happening to us both...

message 56: by Amy (new)

Amy | 12913 comments And that's four for Ninth House at #2.

That's the link where I started! I didn't notice the little one number generator on the side. I found the one in the list that would work, clicked on it and provided that link.

It's probably just as easy (easier!) to use the one number one that you're looking at on that page, yes!

KateNZ | 4099 comments The thread was crashing on my phone too, but the latest GR update seems to have fixed it. EDIT - well that was short lived... back to crashing ... AMY WHAT DID YOU DO TO THIS THREAD?? rofl ...

I’m not posting a Trim list as such, but there are a few things here that I own and that I’ll probably end up reading during the year so will time it to join in with the buddy reads if I can.

I don’t own Ninth House yet but it’s not long away, I suspect!

I may have accidentally done 2 for October oops so 24 is new (well I've been meaning to read it for about 5 years since it was a gift so this might motivate me) but other than that I'm using the same list as this year.

I still have some catch up to do from this year since I started in May but I will get to those during the school holidays hopefully.

message 60: by Amy (new)

Amy | 12913 comments So far so good, no apparent snags in launching the continuation. I'm glad everyone is excited and that there is buzz. I am now thinking ahead to keep it running smoothly. Meli, we should coordinate about its actual start. I am thinking sometime in the end of December, we can coordinate to make sure to do this almost simultaneously. I will post the actual Trim 2020 thread with its instructions and have it ready to go, and as soon as I do this, Meli can be the second to post and announce the number, and it will be a surprise even to me. My plan is to let this thread where people are joining in and figuring out their lists to go for quite a bit, certainly after Christmas, and when the new thread is launched, with even the new Buddy list opportunities that have been created, people can still either join in late or change things around. But we will be in Phase Two. Somewhere a few days after the thread is launched, one of the admins will move it from Footnotes 2019 to Footnotes 2020, so that everyone knows where to find it. If there is already an existing Footnotes 2020 folder before January 1, when Meli and I are ready to go, it will start there. If any one has any questions or suggestions, now is a good time, so that we launch smoothly. And that we can use this planning organizational thread not just for list creating and sharing, but to work out any kinks. I am excited for all the challenges this year, and to see us all grow even more connected in the books and stories we love. Happy Early Everything, Love, Amy

You sure you don't wanna join!? >:-)

Joanne - yes, that is the randomizer I've used in the past for other purposes, so I will use that one. Just let me know when I need to do that and I will be sure to post on the desired date.

Will we use this thread to announce the number before the start of each month?

Joanne (joabroda1) | 12569 comments Meli wrote:Will we use this thread to announce the number before the start of each month?

This thread will be moved to 2020 Footnotes when the Mods open it. And yes, this is where the # will be announced each month. The thread will be used for continued conversation, and announcing the monthly pick. In order to keep it more fluid, no reviews will be posted here(but in Tag and Monthly folders)-Amy If I don't have that right, please feel free to slap my fat little fingers😉

message 66: by Amy (new)

Amy | 12913 comments Actually, there’s going to be a new thread when we announce the numbers. This is just the planning and organizational one. I think we crossed wires because I said that just a little bit ago, that you and I should coordinate when the new thread is introduced and you should be the second post with the number, and it will be a surprise even to me. I’m in the middle of something, but let me know that you were able to find it in my last post above. We are not announcing the numbers on this thread. This is just to create and share lists and get organized.

message 67: by Amy (new)

message 69: by Shelly (new)

Shelly | 938 comments I am going to jump in with an Optional Unofficial Trim 2020 list. I usually like to pick my next book after considering several options, instead of being told what to read, even if I am being told by myself! But several of the buddy reads are very enticing! Besides, being told what to read can be very freeing and actually give me more time to read instead of pondering the options. Since I didn't have a 2019 version, I get to start from scratch and put together a list of 24 books. I am still working on it, but here are the buddy reads I would like to join:
1. An American Marriage
2. Ninth House
5. Circling the Sun
10 Hundred Year Old Man
11. From Sand and Ash
13. Hate U Give
18. Once Upon a River
19. Next Year in Havana
21. Erotic Stories for Punjabi Widows

Will update with complete list of 24 soon!
Thanks Amy for getting us organized.

Meli, Amy-using the randomizer with #'s 1-24, there is a high probability a number already called and read will pop up. We can handle in one of 2 ways:

# 2 on the randomized list of numbers gets called OR

We spin again for a new # 1

EVERYONE-chime in and we will (should) go with the majority
