I love your list! A few of my favorites are on there, and a few from my TBR. And one or two that looked interesting. I hope you get a Buddy Read. Not sure that I put Giver of Stars on my trim List, but I will check. I added just a few.

Hayjay - I loved both Scribe of Sienna and Olive Kitteridge!
Jen K - Black Leopard Red Wolf is quite an ambitious one for trim. I think it took me like 2 months to finish. I am one of the few in the PBT group who loved it. I hope you do too!

I have Sea Biscuit and would love an excuse to read it, but can't fit it at 8, I could do it at 7.
Idit, about Frankisstein, I am on my phone now, so can't quote you, but I am open to changing the number!
I will be trimming my TBR mountain in other ways this year. However, if #13 News of the World is drawn, I would love to participate in the buddy read :-)
Doughgirl5562 wrote: "I will be trimming my TBR mountain in other ways this year. Would love a BR!
When will we pick the number for January? With all the holiday stuff going on I need to set a reminder so I am not late... I don't want to start a mutiny right off the bat >:-)
Meli wrote: "When will we pick the number for January? With all the holiday stuff going on I need to set a reminder so I am not late... I don't want to start a mutiny right off the bat >:-)"Have you and Amy talked in messenger? -I think it your call with her-however everything else is out there (ie: Tag, Polls, Bingo) so I can see no reason to wait, but we need to make sure everyone's lists are complete-I think we told everyone the 26th was the deadline? I cannot remember.....
Was just thinking to write you both. Can you write to two people at once through Goodreads? Seems people are still joining us with their lists and there has been no slowdown. Maybe we give people a few more days? Maybe if both threads crossover, people could still create lists and buddy reads together, and we can always edit the opening of the real streamlined thread to add things that are new. I was thinking the to post the new thread (simultaneously with Meli’s surprise number) on the 27th or the 29th - simply because I didn’t want to do any work in my birthday.... (happy almost birthday Joi, Book Concierge, and AJ too... and a Merry Christmas to all). I do know that when we post it, Meli and I should do it within a minute, so that the number is post number two. So so the first part is how much longer do we wait? The second is, when can I go through and make the new edits to the buddy reads given our scourge of activity, and create the thread, and three at what time on which day is the simul-launch? But that is where we are at... I’m still in the business of going through the states list. I’m embarrassed to say that I am bad with google docs, and therefore cannot yet access the bingo card. So I am a bit of research away. Good thing Christmas is a lazy day off (lol). I welcome yours and everyone’s thoughts. But rest assured it is indeed happening. The Wonder Three are on it!
It doesn't look like we can have a group message in the Goodreads messanger :P How silly... I am OK to wait to pick the number, although like you said everything else is published. I am sure people are anxious, but I am good either way. We could go ahead and pick the number and people can still join later, like they did this year.
I think you could compile the buddy reads list later (not sure how you are doing that though... an excel doc like the trim this year??).
And as for the time, I think by noon is good. Or by whatever time they normally announce things around here.
Another question from me... do I announce the number in the new thread you will make? I think you already clarified, but I forgot.
And also, is there anything else I am supposed to do? :P

Yes - Its going to be in the new thread. You are going to be post number two. So we are going to do this pretty much at the same time, at the time of our mutual choosing. I do want the new thread to feel streamlined and organized, so I will compile the buddy reads with all the new switches and editions by then. And I do think we should move the planning and organization thread too, to keep both separate, but so that its easy for people to join in late. I can always edit the opening entry as new things occur on the sidelines. How about I shoot for the 27th, and we will organically figure out you and I how and when to press go. did you already figure out what its going to be? Or are you going to do it day of, as we are figuring out our exact time?

I did click on my name. Do you mean lower than the list of names? it didn't open for me and I thought it was because I need my kids google accounts, (which I thought were saved on my computer anyway.) I had the secret hope it would be easy for me, but I will try again. I am down to like 12 states now. Not skiing today, so maybe can get some stuff done.We good Meli?
IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT:Please finalize your lists before noon on the 27th-and move your list, if you have not already to the 2020 Member's Thread. Amy and Meli will coordinate the drawing of the number shortly there after-

Then, you also don't have to coordinate timing.

Kelly!!! Love your list! You have like 12 or more of my favorites and another three I am about to read in the next couple of months. You are ever my twin. Plus a few buddy reads with me! Ellie - so glad this worked out for you! You have quite a few of my favorites too...
Cindy - we could take the easier way out for sure, but in the future Meli and Joanne will just post it straight on the thread, and this way I get to be surprised too. Slightly more complicated, but a little more fun I think.

I also see a Buddy Read for Darling Rose Gold at 22, but I was planning to read it next for Thrillers in January. Shelley, thank you (and others) for making the compilation super easy. As you all have gathered the new thread and launch are coming! I'm excited to read with you this year.
Ok, I'm not promising to read every month, but I HAD to join you guys :)Jenny- We are now buddies for #1, I had on my personal spreadsheet we already were, lol.

Ooh, Shelly is joining the buddy read for Circling tbe Sun too!
I loved Circling the Sun! I have some work to do on the 26th to compile all of this. But in the meantime, I need to research Darling Rose Gold. Someone said it wasn't out until March, but I am on hold for it at the library. Let me do a little research there....

NYPL does not even have audio or ebook listed as on order with a hold list. This could be one of those that publishers are blocking ebooks to libraries to maximize sales.
I would not put it on a random draw Trim list at this point.
Oh why not.... If 22 gets picked before March, all of us Darling Rose Golds will move it together to another mutually agreed upon number and read that one instead. This is unofficial and a free for all. I'm calling it now, Darling Rose Gold at #22, and if its picked I will fix it for all of us so it works and we will clear something off the TBR. I have a few superpowers left, and one of them was GRE analytical. I always knew if Mary had to be in Car three, was wearing a blue dress, and needed to be with an odd number of people, what kind of flower she was carrying...... I'm great at Table seating and Rummy Q. We are going with it - and it will all work out. Now what shall I do with Modern Girls (my previous 22)? I stuck Red at the Bone at number 8, where it is likely going to live for everyone, as long as that works. This is happening..... Meli, we need your randomizing luck to help us through, so we don't have to call on my analytical skills just yet....
Amy's New 24:New 2020 Trim List:
1) A Pidgeon and A Boy
2) Modern Girls
3) Rain of Gold
4) The Book of Lost Things
5) Caspian Rain
6) China Rich Girlfriend
7) Cold Sassy Tree
8) Red at the Bone
9) Correlli’s Mandolin
10) The Devil in Jerusalem
11) From Sand and Ash
12) The Secret Keeper
13) The Ghostwriter
14) If the Creek Don’t Rise

18) The Kitchen House
19) Strange the Dreamer
20) The Dream Daughter
21) Where the Forest Meets the Stars
22) Darling Rose Gold
23) Park Avenue Summer
24) Wicked
I will start compiling tomorrow and make sure it works for all of us to do Red at the Bone at #8. That it doesn't conflict with anyone for anything. If it does, I will let you guys know....
Not sure I've done this right, but here's my list! I'm not 100% how buddy reads work, but I've tried to pair up my list with people reading some of the same books. I had a few conflicts, so I tossed in notes to a couple people in case anyone wants to revise and sync up. Heather’s 2020 Trim List
