*sighs* I started reading a historical fiction about a Jewish woman directly in the aftermath of WWII so felt a little more interested in your suggestion, Dee, but found I can't source it :/ Not on AU KU unfortunately.

@Lusie: I've created a thread for our buddy read of Tatiana & Alexander, here
If anyone would like to join in, please do!

I'm about to start Winter (The Lunar Chronicles #4) (827p) on audio, if anyone would like to buddy up?
Or what about Lair of Dreams (The Diviners #2) (613p)?

A Game of Thrones
Wolf Hall - i'm on the library wait list for this - so it may be a couple months (right now prediction is 10 weeks) - so it would be a future read
I've read GoT, Dee, but willing to give Wolf Hall a go. Just tap me when you're ready.
Actually... let me check if there's a waiting list for it.
ETA: a couple of copies appear to be available for me to borrow without any waiting list.

I’m guessing it’s popular with book 3 just being released
oooh, good one ha ha ha
But I have a feeling I'd be too frustrated with it to struggle through 500+ pages :p

@Joanna, I've started our thread for Thunderhead (Arc of a Scythe #2): here
@Susan, just give me a tap when you got The Toll (Arc of a Scythe #3) from the library - I own a copy so can do anytime.

Ooh, I'd love to join this....if only they would open up the library!! :(
Dee wrote: "i'd be ready to go with the Toll as soon as you are done with Thunderhead - cause holy cliff-hanger"
No kidding! But it's interesting, I didn't mind it like I do some cliff-hangers. It didn't seem contrived, I guess. Some really annoy me, as though the only point of a book was to get you hooked on the next one. I didn't feel that way about this one.

Actually, I heard about the cliff hanger so I decided to hang on and wait for The Toll. I've got both but ya know, how it is... I just got to get around to them and now is the time :p
So, looking over my Moving Mountains, I've got a few classics to read and I need some support!
Is anyone keen on any of the following:
The Forsyte Saga
Westwood
Sons and Lovers

Tien - wolf hall says sometime in next week or so per library hold list
ok - it's still available for me but I don't want to borrow it now because I can't renew on that system. Let me know when you got it :)
Rachel P & I are going to buddy read
starting next week. If anyone would like to join, the thread is here

I wasn't sure whether to post this question on the Thunderhead thread or here, so I'm doing both.
Tien & Stacey,
I just received a notice that I can borrow the digital edition of The Toll. What did you decide about if/when to start it? Because if it's soon, I'm in. My loan will only be for 3 weeks, and I have 3 days to either check it out or let someone go ahead of me in line.

Susan, I'm in the middle of a buddy read & will start another one with Stacey in a few days.
However, if you want to take this slowly, I can try to fit it in :)

I think I'll let it go for now. It's so much more fun to read with others. My next turn should come around soon, since I stay at the top of the list.

Sorry Susan! I think I am out for the next book for now. I made the mistake of reading some reviews and I'm not sure I want to read it at all.

i recommend ignoring the reviews! i thought he did a good job of tying all the pieces up

Wolf hall came in today
Does that mean you've borrowed it, Dee?
How long have you got (ie. when do you want to start & finish)?
I'll be going digital and I've just checked that it's available BUT I can't seem to 'renew' on that app - so I think I only have 21 days or something...

It’s roughly 30pgs or 5% a day - is that doable for you?
Ok, I borrowed it this morning.
I'll do my best, Dee, as I can't renew either, as I said. I see that there are 6 parts so aim for 2 parts per week? That should bring it right to the end... though of course, if you love it, you'd probably finish in a week lol
I gtg now but will create the thread later on this morning :)

The Dragon Republic (658pgs)
Dragonfly (563pgs)
Ooh, are you travelling for work?
I also have The Dragon Republic, ummm... and I have also nearly as many big books going as you ha ha ha

sitting in my hotel room waiting for my flight for deployment - its been pushed off 3 weeks so far - i've been in a hotel room for 7 weeks nearly
Yikes! Where are you supposed to be going, Dee? I'd think it be very uncertain if you're crossing any sort of borders... though can you even go home (ie. you're not in your home state, are you?)

europe on a ship for 10months ish for military deployment - the delay is because we are limited on transportation overseas right now
Are you sharing a room? Although... you'd have to be living on close quarters anyway on the ship...
They're paying for all your food too, of course? Gets quite expensive, isn't it, eating "out" all the time.

I didn't realise that... I've only just signed up & tried to d/l 1 book; it looked legit and d/l is DRM instead of open epub. I didn't really look into it much, I guess the use of 'library' was rather deceptive.
