i keep them both on GR - one is the generic to-read; the other is to-read-2014 (which will soon become to read 2015) - the first has like 3000 books on it; the second about 500 (not that I ever actually read that many)

message 53: by Morgan (new)

Morgan (faeriesfolly) | 923 comments Ahhh gotcha. So you just keep rolling the yearly one over with whatever hasn't been read from year to year adding books to one list or the other as you come across them?

Hi Kim,

I have it sitting at home and I'd say it's red. :)

pretty much - my to-read is more ohhh one-click this looks good; my yearly is more of my priority type list - since i've been on GR for like 6 years now

In that case, I would say that your actual working TBR list would be the one to be used. haha. Sorry for the confusion, but YES, your active/workable/rolling TBR would be the one I'd use.

I am going back over mine with stuff I added back in 2009 which is when I joined and deleting things that I no longer want to read or I've read and never added, etc.

Hi Hina,

Both look good to me! The Argeneau series is definitely one of my mildly guilty pleasures. :)

Hi Alex,

I think that's right around 75% just trying to eyeball it (another one I pulled out my copy for since it has the same cover.) Approved. :)

Anna For option 4 - Am I missing where to find the date joined? The profile only lists month and year, is that what you are looking for? Thanks

message 66: by Morgan (new)

Morgan (faeriesfolly) | 923 comments Anna wrote: "For option 4 - Am I missing where to find the date joined? The profile only lists month and year, is that what you are looking for? Thanks"

Hi Anna,

That would be it. For example mine says "January 2009" and I have a couple books that have been on my TBR shelf since 2009.

That was mostly added in so that people who joined in "November 2014" could complete that option if they chose to--they would just need to include that so the mods don't see "November 3rd, 2014" as the date that the book was added and disqualify it as not fitting the option.

We can update the wording to "Month & Year joined", but you are correct. That is all I'm looking for. :)

Ok, thanks. You might also want to state that it can be found on the profile, not sure how often people look at it. I just stumbled across it a couple weeks ago and remembered it say something about when I joined.

Hi Valerie,

The Thirteenth Tale is verified for 'books about books'.

Option 6 can absolutely be nonfiction. As long as it features one of the required royals (or pirates), it works. :)

Morgan (faeriesfolly) | 923 comments Vicki wrote: "Can you approve any of the following for having enough red?

Inside Man & Invisible are approved for red.

Unfortunately Beneath the Mask of Sanity looks like it's only in ebook/kindle, so it can't be used for tasks with required page numbers. (Though either way I was on the edge with it being enough red or not so I guess it works out.)

Of course luckily that helps narrow down a little? (Usually my biggest issue with most tasks!)

Hi KSMary,

That would work! :) I was thinking maybe from the description, but the genre 'glbt' is hanging out on the main page. (And you can consider the genre verified in case it happens to run away and hide before you go to post the task.)

Sue (suetinge) | 1579 comments Morgan, I'm in a similar situation to Dee. I've got two TBRs on Goodreads - both date back to when I joined in 2009. One is a general (1700+) and one is specifically books I own (130+). I was hoping to use something from the "owned" list, which didn't quite crack the "top 10" of the general TBR. Will that be OK?

Hi Sue T,

I like this idea of splitting, because I am either staring at my bookshelves, or much more easily typing in a search here on goodreads on my general TBR. I try to use exclusively "owned" or library books for SRC as much as possible.

Yes, you could choose a book from your "owned" TBR for option 4. You'd just look for one of the 10 oldest out of that 130+ list.

Hi Hina,

For that it's just description OR genres that would equate to LGBT, so this definitely works. :) I didn't want to limit it to *just* genres, because there might be a book where the description makes it clear, but the genre is lacking. And vice versa. You're covered either way.

Noting genres: 'Romance > M M Romance' & 'Glbt > Gay'

1) A Jane Austen Education: How Six Novels Taught Me About Love, Friendship, and the Things That Really Matter would work and does have the genre 'books about books' (which works embedded or solo, but so far I think I have mostly seen it embedded).

The other option A Great Idea at the Time: The Rise, Fall, and Curious Afterlife of the Great Books doesn't meet the page requirement even though the genre is present as well. However, if you had an edition of this book that is listed at 250+ it would absolutely qualify.

The paperback would work then, so you could use either of those two options for one of your books. :)

I swapped it to the approved post with the correct edition (250+pp).
