Hi Papermaker,

Thanks :) I was a little over-enthusiastic with options, since Fall was my first challenge.

I had to get a second opinion to make sure it wasn't just me/my monitor, but the verdict was that it reads more orange than red, so I'd have to say it doesn't work.

Hi Claire,

The Shadow of the Wind verified for 'Writing > Books about Books'
I actually almost picked that up at a book swap today. :) Maybe I should have.

The other is good to go.

Hi ChrisEverest,

I spent some time looking at this one and visualizing it in different ways, but I feel like it falls short of the amount of red required. Sorry! Conversely it does seem to be showing crime as a genre right now if you haven't done that task yet or found something to fit it. I can't verify that, but maybe an option if you're looking for somewhere it fits!

Good luck! :)

Hi! I imagine your uncle was a delightful man. A lover of books is always delightful in my mind. :)

I would like to know if this book could be approved for option 1. One of the genres is Writing>Books about Books. Twenty-five Books That Shaped America: How White Whales, Green Lights, and Restless Spirits Forged Our National Identity Twenty-five Books That Shaped America How White Whales, Green Lights, and Restless Spirits Forged Our National Identity by Thomas C. Foster

For option 6, I was wondering if As You Wish: Inconceivable Tales from the Making of The Princess Bride As You Wish Inconceivable Tales from the Making of The Princess Bride by Cary Elwes since it's about The Princess Bride film. I know it's a stretch, so I understand if it's unacceptable.

Hi Cindy C,

My Mom always says that horse people are good people. Horse people, dog people, and book people are my kind of people. lol.

My brother got me 'As You Wish' for Christmas, so I already did this with myself. LOL. I'd say you could make it work for like....guilty pleasure: movies or The Princess Bride in general. But not for option #6, because it's about the movie production/cast and not actually about princesses, pirates, etc. At least that was my logic discounting it for myself.

As for Twenty-five Books That Shaped America: How White Whales, Green Lights, and Restless Spirits Forged Our National Identity the genre 'Writing > Books about Books' is noted, so it works for option 1. :)

Enjoy!

Hi Catherine,

That's actually one I was thinking about for myself, but I also discounted it and put it on a different task. It looks more orangish red to me when I was looking at it here, so I'd have to say no.

I did really enjoy it though, and if you'd consider graphic novels, etc a guilty pleasure it could work for that.

Morgan (faeriesfolly) | 923 comments Kim wrote: "Does this qualify for option 6? (pirates)

Hi Kim,

I think it depends on the amount of "screentime" for the pirates (just like for the royal side of things). If you read it and they play as much of a part as the Dread Pirate Roberts/Westley then it would fit, from the synopsis it doesn't really seem like it? I'd put it conditional on reading it and seeing how big of a role they play. Think Protagonists & Antagonists. Are they the big threat once out to sea/on set?

I would think it could come under guilty pleasures though with it being a reimagining of Sherlock Holmes. I have some purist friends I'd have to hide those from! ;)

Hope that helps and sorry I can't be more definitive with a yes/no on the pirate issue since I haven't read it. Sounds like an interesting series though!

Thanks for the feedback. After I read it I'll see which category it fits better. The series is very good; it's worth checking out. I love Sherlock Holmes but I'm not so much of a purist that I can't enjoy this series.

Hi LouLou,

The original TBR with books you own/want to read would work. Just include your joined Goodreads month/year and the date of the book chosen from your oldest. :)

Just because I don't get that from the synopsis (and to make things easier for the mods and you), I'll verify the presence of the genres "GLBT" and "Romance > M M Romance" which also qualify it for Double Rainbow just in case they fall off the bottom. :) Enjoy!

Hi Laura,

This is another one I needed second opinions/comparisons on -- comparing it to something that is without a doubt red, it comes off as hot pink (like the red lettering on one of the alternate covers). I was getting that vibe when I first pulled it up, and it seems to be the general consensus.

But, you could use it for Guilty Pleasures if you don't have something for that option already? Sorry!

Hi Kim,

I'd have to say no for this one. The description seems pretty clear that she's not a princess of anything and kind of the opposite as a prisoner. Cleopatra was pharaoh and I don't really know if it confers anything on a fictional daughter. With someone like Catherine the Great we have history showing she was a princess before Empress, because the words do have to match for this one: Prince, Princess, King, Queen, Pirate. Unfortunately it can't really go without saying for these sorts of things.

Sorry! But you could go guilty pleasure with it or there's several other slots it could fill for other tasks.
