Hi Teresa Jo,

Looks good to me 'Writing > Books about books' is there and sounds very apropos too. :D Enjoy!

Hi Hevabean,

'Writing > Books about books' is on there, and I've seen that one around a few times on people's lists. Hope it's a good one. It looks interesting.
Enjoy!

Hevabean | 89 comments Thanks, Morgan. I'm searching for a graphic novel with the books about books genre, but that's my back up if I can't find a good one.

Harm (harmnl) For option 2 I would like to read The Circle by Dave Eggers. The Circle by Dave Eggers

The cover to me looks light red, but some people might also call it orange or pink. Is this red enough for option 2?

Hi Harm,

I'd have to go with pinkish orange or orangish pink (or call it salmon or something), so it wouldn't work for this one. Sorry! But if it's been on your TBR forever maybe?

message 107: by Harm (new)

Harm (harmnl) Hi Morgan,

Thanks for your answer. I agree that salmon is a good description of the colour and that it is not red enough. No problem, because I think I can get the cover approved in 30.3 because of the repeating pattern!

Hi Fiona,

Yes, "Prince Alexander" will work. ;) Could also work for option 5 if you needed it to. Enjoy!

Thank God for my Kindle & Kindle app on my phone. Otherwise lunch time at work (or waiting for my car at Jiffy Lube) would be a bit awkward. XD

Hi KSMary,

Unfortunately that one won't work for the red cover. There's some red there, but there's more of the cream/pink/purple/etc.

message 115: by KSMary (new)

KSMary | 1181 comments No problem. I'll either use it as a guilty pleasure book or use it for another task. Thanks for looking!

Hi Erika,

Yep, that's perfect. I believe it only exists embedded as far as I've seen, but it's definitely on there. :)

mstan | 868 comments Hi Morgan

Could I have The Book of Lost Things verified for 'books about books' please?

Does The Curse of Chalion work for Option 6 (royalty)? The protagonist himself isn't royalty, but the entire setting of the book is in that of a royal household.

message 120: by [deleted user] (last edited Dec 03, 2014 05:19PM) (new)

Is Why We Broke Up by Daniel Handler red enough? I think if you disregard the Printz medal, which isn't really part of the cover art, it should be, but just want to confirm.

message 121: by Morgan (new)

Morgan (faeriesfolly) | 923 comments Hi mstan,

The Book of Lost Things is verified as having "Writing > Books about Books".

I'm a little wobbly on the second book, but only because it doesn't specify in the description and I have no knowledge to pull from on whether the "princess" who isn't called a princess is one, etc. I had to use a phone a friend option and ask the mods, but I will get back to you as soon as I hear.

Hi Lori,

That'd work. Having read it, in addition to Queen Levana in the description, there are several other princesses, etc to fit. Enjoy!

Hi Morgan and mods,
If it helps, there's an online dictionary of terms used in the book, The Curse of Chalion. The "sister of the impetuous boy who is next in line to rule" (taken from GR book description) is called 'royesse' in the book.

Hi mstan,

I meant to get back to you last night, but got distracted figuring out an ankle brace after I got the reply back from the mods. lol.

Kristina is going to edit it to make it clearer and as long as it's clear from the GR description or reviews (several make it known that the princess--actually calling her that--is a significant enough character.) It was the amount of "screen time" so to speak combined with the clarity of the description where it seemed to dance around whether or not they fit into king/queen/prince/princess that held me back from a quick answer.

But you are good to go since it seems as if both bases are definitely covered. :D

I will add it to the approved post as soon as I get home later. Sorry for the delay!

Hi frugalitymom,

Plus we're a big Star Wars family. (My Dad's nickname is Yoda.) It's like you found a secret bonus round...except there's no extra points. ;)

Hi Gea,

A Wicked Pursuit (Breconridge Brothers, #1) by Isabella Bradford When She Was Wicked (Honeycote, #1) by Anne Barton definitely fit.

I think She Tempts the Duke (The Lost Lords of Pembrook, #1) by Lorraine Heath is a little below 75% so it would have to be a no for option 2.

That said you could also fit any of the 3 books under option 5 "Guilty Pleasures", so any of those you would like to read for the task could be used. :)

My Mom and Grandma always traded "historial romances" back and forth in grocery bags, and I (being middle school aged at the time) would tease them loudly about their "SEX BOOKS". Even though I am now aware of Erotica, I still tease Mom about sex books while borrowing both her Historical Romances AND her Erotica. :P

I see it. :) 'GLBT' genre verified.
Sorry for delay, for some reason I thought I replied yesterday...and clearly dreamed it or something. Enjoy!

message 144: by Narumon (new)

Narumon Dear Morgan, I love that one of your tasks is aimed at getting something off my TBR list (looking at my copy of The Eye of the World), so I'll definitely be trying to get that one down.

I was thinking of reading The Snow Queen for option 3, but wanted to check with you first. One of the three main characters identifies as LGBT, but it's very subtle and the main genre page only has 6 users classifying the book as LGBT. If it works great! If not, I'm sure I can tuck this book into another task.

Hi Narumon,

Pity none of the ones on my shelf staring at me have been on my TBR long enough. ;) I think my own task is the only one that I don't have one or more books listed as options. I really should get on that.

'GLBT' genre verified as present, so it will definitely work for option 3. Enjoy!

Nikki Hi, just wondered about the book Middlesex for Option 3?. Its about a child that was born with a hermaphrodite like genetic disorder and she was really a boy, raised as a girl. The issues in the book are all GLBT and its listed as that in the genres.

Thank you
