Today I am reading ‘Sex and Sexuality in Georgian Britain’ by Mike Rendell, which is quite saucy. It’s clearly not a book for everyone but I read a lot of historical fiction as well as non fiction on history and it’s an interesting overview.
Certainly going to be a challenge writing a vanilla review for Amazon.
Read the oldest ARC I had, only 2 left from 2018. Slowly chipping away at that backlog.Cowboy SEAL Redemption (Navy SEAL Cowboys, #2) by Nicole Helm
My Review - 2.5 Stars

Another older one finished a couple weeks ago that I finally wrote the review for.A Beautiful Corpse (Harper McClain, #2) by Christi Daugherty
My Review - 4 Stars

I just finished The First Stone: Some Questions About Sex and Power by one of my favourite Aussie authors, Helen Garner. Men AND women; men VS women? This 25th anniversary edition includes other writings about Garner and the lively controversy over the indecent assault scandal.
5★ My review of The First Stone
Got to one of my books before pub day for once.Claiming the Rancher's Heir (Gold Valley Vineyards, #2) by Maisey Yates

One Way Street by Trevor Wood https://sandysbookaday.wordpress.com/...https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Well done Melanie! I actually am getting better with my reading schedule though inevitably don’t get to all by publication day.
Tomorrow and Thursday are again bumper days in the publishing world.
In a year filled with change and loss, we need to 'keep moving' to nurture creativity and love. Looking forward to reading Maggie Smith's 'Keep Moving.'
~ We now know heartbreak! SO sad to hear Roxanne Conrad/Rachel Caine lost her battle with cancer. I have been a fan of her Stillhouse Lake series.
Although I didn't love
A Galway Epiphany: A Jack Taylor Novel by Ken Bruen quite as much as other books I have read in this series, it's still a good solid ⭐⭐⭐⭐ read. https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...https://sandysbookaday.wordpress.com/...
Living in uncertain times, Smith's prose provide hope for the future. We don't know what's ahead but we can control how we respond. Embrace the future of instead of remaining fixated on the past.
Maggie Smith: "Let go of the idea that things could have happened differently, as if this life is a Choose You Own Adventure book and you simply turned the wrong page. You di the best you could with what you knew-and felt- at the time. Now do better knowing more."

This is another cute cartoon biography for kids of Steve Jobs by Mª Isabel Sánchez Vegara. All libraries should have collections of this Little People BIG DREAMS series to inspire kids' curiosity. I always learn something from them and end up looking for more details!
4★ My review of "Steve Jobs"
Magical and enchanting ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Magic Lessons by Alice Hoffman https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...https://sandysbookaday.wordpress.com/...

I have two accounts on Netgalley. One new one because I lost the password to the old one, but just found it again. I have 400 books on my old account, surprisingly I am auto-approved four different publishers even though I haven't been active there in quite some time. My newest account has no auto approved publishers, but almost a hundred books. Send help, lol.
I will slowly but surely start posting progress. I hope to have 250 cleared by March next year. Is that doable? We shall see.
Question: should I delete my new account since I have my old one back?

I've got that, too! I'll be interested to see how she approaches him.
Andria wrote: "I have two accounts on Netgalley. One new one because I lost the password to the old one, but just found it again. Good luck!
Lara Hawthorne has produced the loveliest Christmas book I've seen in a long time. The Twelve Days of Christmas is beautiful and has a lot of interesting details kids (and grown-ups) will love. Great gift!
5★ My review of The 12 Days of Christmas
On a different note, The Night Whistler by Greg Woodland is an Aussie rural crime story that features a young boy who refuses to give up and a disgracefully demoted detective who believes him.
3.5★ My review of The Night Whistler
PattyMacDotComma wrote: "Lara Hawthorne has produced the loveliest Christmas book I've seen in a long time. The Twelve Days of Christmas is beautiful and has a lot of interesting details ki..."This book is just beautiful. I loved it.

Leaving London sadly behind as the curtain closed on 'West End Girls.'
'West End Girls' takes to the stage to debut Jenny Colgan's new novel. Fraternal twins Lizzie and Penny Berry are offered the chance to house-sit in their grandmother's Chelsea home. While trying to get their affairs in order, London affords Lizzie a backbone and Penny, a chance to move beyond her shallow ways.
When they start to feel on solid ground, the rug is pulled out beneath their feet. Will they have to discard their dreams or stand firm to fight for their future?

My review of A Time for Swords, an unimaginative Viking historical fiction that provides nothing you haven't seen before.https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

Olav Audunssøn: I. Vows takes place in Norway in the 1200s. This translated edition was released just this month. Author Sigrid Undset won the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1928. This has all the feuds, arranged marriages, hard times, difficult romancing you'd expect from such a cold place so very long ago, but I think some of her other writing must have been what earned her the Nobel.
