A Suspicion of Silver is the latest (#9) in the terrific Sir Robert Carey historical mystery series set in Elizabethan England. P.F. Chisholm simply cannot leave us with that cliffhanger ending!

Nine Lives by Danielle Steel Maggie Kelly's life is filled with contradictions. While the men in her family embrace risking their 'Nine Lives' that carefree attitude leaves Maggie retreating. When her carefully-constructed world shatters, Maggie realizes that her glass tower didn't guarantee protection.
The pandemic halted my international plans and through books, I'm able to armchair travel. As Maggie discovered London, Paris and Rome, I revisited some of my favorite cities. Experiencing places where I lived and loved brought back special memories heighted by experiencing them through Maggie's eyes.

Nancy Thayer pens summer escape reads with substance. Readers needing a trip to the shore will indulge in the scenic setting while sympathizing with Eleanor's decisions. While grappling with her family's finances, Eleanor must reunite with past mistakes before building a new future.

I’m about to start Malibu Rising by Taylor Jenkins Reid and The Rose Code by Kate Quinn. I was really excited to get approved for both these books as I love the authors.
Jen wrote: "I LOVED The Lost Village- it’s one of my favorites this year!"That's awesome Jen. It's easy to get caught up in the story and want to keep reading that's for sure. I'm enjoying this much more than my last read, The Sanatorium.
A February historical romance release.
The Virgin Who Vindicated Lord Darlington (The Swooning Virgins Society, #2) by Anna Bradley

Hey I'm new! I just got my first request approved and I am currently reading All the girls are nice here-Laurie Elizabeth Flynn.
Get ready for a World War II historical adventure as protagonists risk their lives to save others. Featuring a dual-linear timeline, the story commences in Krakow 2016. From the first chapter, readers are on the case, trailing the truth and venturing back in time to uncover the mystery.I love historical fiction especially Pam Jenoff's novels. Besides being drawn into the story, I appreciated the behind-the-scenes account of Jenoff's writing process. Looking back, she didn't intend to write a book reflecting the pandemic, but I can understand why isolation and an uncertain future influenced the story.

Now that I finished The Woman with the Blue Star I have the difficult decision of selecting what to read next. I have it down to three:
Weisberger's Where the Grass Is Green and the Girls Are Pretty
Steel's The Affair
or
Terry's The Sweet Taste of Muscadine
Decisions, Decisions, Decisions!!
I just started reading Overdue by Amity Reed who first became a doula, then midwife. So far seems like an honest look at what today's NHS midwives are expected to do with less funding, and less staff.
I just finished The Bohemians

When Nadia's French husband has a public affair with a hot young actress, she's left reeling, A bestselling novelist, Nicolas wouldn't have penned the ramifications and media attention his discretion warranted. Will Nadia be able to put his affair behind them or is divorce the only way to put her feelings to bed?

They broke the mould when the Artist Known as Prince came along. This is another of the Little People BIG DREAMS series. Author Maria Isabel Sanchez Vegara and illustrator Cachetejack have produced a bright, appealing children's book

I do love a good short story, so I'm glad that Amazon is publishing originals from many different authors. In the Empty Quarter by G. Willow Wilson is a scary little cautionary tale I enjoyed.

Return to the Most Beautiful Village in the World is a bittersweet follow-up to Japanese artist Yutaka Kobayashi's previous two picture books about a little boy who left his war-torn village in Afghanistan. Kobayashi says we must inspire the children!

I just finished Complications by Danielle Steel.
Set in three of my favorite cities, London, Paris and New York provide a scenic backdrop to the characters' complicated stories. Throughout the novel, the protagonists encounter criminal affairs, devastating diagnoses, and life-changing decisions while mustering the courage to confront the past to bravely face the future.

I have Nora, an Audio copy about the life of James Joyce and his muse, got Audio of the Rose Code, by Kate Quinn~wish I had the book to read along for that one, think I will get the book next week, Malibu Rising-Taylor Jenkins Reid, can’t wait to start. I put in for too many, thinking I wouldn’t get approved, so trying to read as many as possible. :)
Hello Friend We Missed You won The Guardian's 2020 Not the Booker Prize competition. I liked the real Booker winner better this year - Shuggie Bain - but Richard Owain Roberts IS a good writer, and it's nice to see Wales represented.

Six Word Story: Stories, Memoirs, Poems and Jokes all written in only six words. is the second book of clever, quirky "stories" by Doug Weller. There's a competition you can enter, too. Fun to try making them up.

Non fiction - I am still reading Overdue by Amity Reed and Fiction - I have just started Dark Lullaby by Polly Ho-yen both are Netgalleys
I'm currently reading Folklorn
and it's been slow but I'm not hating it. It has a few interesting stuff going on and they are keeping me sucked in the story, butt the main character isn't my cup of tea.
Karen Kingsbury's novels deserve the classification 'life-changing fiction.' Make sure to have tissues on hand as you'll need them throughout the novel's twists and turns.

The One Hundred Years of Lenni and Margot is a brand new favourite! It's hard to believe this is Marianne Cronin's first novel. Wonderful characters and story.
