Review: I really enjoyed this book, did the audio for it so it flew by. I didn't find it as interesting as #1, but also probably because I knew what kind of story it was. I really like Leda and her banter and sharp tongue, even though it's really unrelatable. I definitely can't relate to her relationship either XD Reading #3 tomorrow :D

Review: Maui wedding planner Pali Moon gets embroiled once again in a mystery, starting with the disappearance of a bridesmaid. The depth of the ensuing case is beyond what she and her friends could ever have imagined. I totally enjoyed this visit to Maui, land of my heart. Totally enjoyed the mc's adventures set in familiar places.

You're thinking SSS, still plenty of time on this one. :)

Review: I've read two books in this series this week, so that should be a good indicator. They are witty escapist paranormal cozy mystery romances set in a small idyllic town in the South. Kind of like Gilmore Girls with more vampire attacks. This one was shorter than the first, which I think improved a lot on the pacing, and it was pretty satisfying overall.

Review: This wasn't my favorite in the Dune series. It seemed like a lot of filler instead of a story within itself, like a bridge book to connect the events of the #4 to #6. I really do miss the primary family that was at the heart of the first 3 books (Jessica, Maud'Dib, etc.) and I'm not so much into the story of the many lives of Duncan Idaho or the many factions attempting to control the sand worms and melange. It just doesn't have the same 'epic' feel that the first couple in the series had. That said, the writing was engaging as always, and the pace did pick up enough at the end to hold my attention. I'll likely read book 6, if only because I've made it this far.

I'll be out of town and without a laptop next week. I'll still be reading and can post my completed book via the app, but I'm not sure if it allows for the hyperlinks. Let me know if it's ok for me to just type out the name of the book and author. Thanks!

How it Fits~ book #2 in the Series Crime with the Classics
I’ve been putting this book off forever but decided now was as good a time as any to read it....loved it... I love the premise behind each chapter. The first book referenced Agatha this one referenced Bronte. Emily is the main character. She was a professor at college in Washington state before coming to the Oregon coast. All sorts of things are developing between the characters and of course things would not be complete without a body or two. Can’t wait to see what happens next.

I'll still be able to make your post work Angela. No worries there.

Thanks for catching that, Angie!
Since I'm handing out "I'll let it slide this time, but please make sure to comply with requirements in future" warnings all over the place this week, for today you're good to go ahead and roll once you have all reviews in regardless of whether Angela and Sallie get around to updating their posts before then.

Review:
OK, one of the big secrets of this series has been revealed and I'm stunned.
I didn't think I'd like this book that much while reading it, for me it was like a sussesion of tasks, like a checklist, but in the end everything connected and wow it's pretty interesting.
By far the thing I enjoy the most in these books are the dialogues, those are really funny sometimes.

Ah Flavia de Luce is growing up. She and Dogger have teamed up together and have started their own investigation company. I love this series. I was reading some of the previous reviews, after I finished my reading of course, many feel that this is the end to the series. You get that feel of a sorts especially when you read the Authors Thank You at the end. Flavia takes charge when at her sister's wedding there is a severed finger discovered in the wedding cake. Flavia and Dogger do solve the case of course the Chief Inspector takes all of the credit but Flavia doesn't seem to mind. I would hate to see the series end because this has been absolutely joy to read.

How it fits - Book 7 of the Walt Longmire series
Review - Westerns aren’t usually my thing, but this series had me hooked from book 1. Walt is a great character to root for, and all of his sidekicks and companions have the humor and sarcasm that is for me a prerequisite for an enjoyable mystery/detective series. The storyline in this one involved an unexpected drug bust gone terribly wrong, with accidental shootings and the hilarity of a severed finger gone missing. I laughed a lot, but there are warm parts too. All the ingredients for a fun read.

Review: This is the best in the series so far. Still a nice, easy read, but with more intrigue and action against the background of a Brawn and Brains competition. That it is set in Maui is a big bonus. And the crossover of characters (Zoe and Zak) from another popular Daley series is super fun. Also, I always enjoy stories that include a hunt for clues at different locations, and this one delivered.
No. 7 in series will be reaching the top of the good ole' TBR in the next couple days or so. Can't get enough of the sun, sand, and sea in the face of the upcoming cold mainland weather!

Book: Archangel's Kiss by Nalini Singh

How it fits: #2 in series
Review:
For some reason I don't feel like long intricate books lately, so it's all urban fantasy and romance (which is funny, because I usually don't read much romance- does anyone else thing that alpha male dialog in some romances is weirdly close to incel in real life? No one would sleep with half these jerks.). It was the second book in a series I started this month. Like the first one it was a bit jumpy in places, and repetitive, but it not being very deep is actually want I want right now and it's a pretty amusing world to wander around in. Honestly, the weakest points are the sex scenes which make me want to laugh and always detract from the plot more than add to it. Also, I have a weakness for angels being jerks , so it gets an additional star. 4 stars

Yes that's correct

Review:
I'm in love with series. It's super fast paced and the characters are the best.
The setting in this one is super interesting, getting to know the other cultures involved in the story is something I've been really enjoying.
I really want to know how this will end, what the author will change about WWI.
I'm not talking about the plot because it's the 2nd book in the series, but I can say it's super interesting and different from what I read before.

Review:Harry Dresden has to stop a group of necromancers before midnight on Halloween. Harry's got a few allies and more enemies he can shake a stick at. Can Harry stop them? Find out in Dead Beat.

As I have an exam on Monday and another one on Saturday, is it at all possible to have arranged absences until the 27th October? If not, I'll have to unfortunately pull out of this challenge. I just can't afford to be reading any more while I should be studying. Part of why I'm so late with this book again. I'm falling behind too much, and this is kind of stressing me a little XD
Sorry, once the free pass is used, it's used - we're past the deadline now, so your review wouldn't count if posted now.
Unfortunately, I can't give you an out for the current roll, only for next Friday's if that's any help. You'd have had to ask before the roll for this week. :(
