Hi, Amy! Thanks for writing.
1. I'm not sure how long the series will continue and have not chosen authors for the whole alphabet. However, the C volume will be Agatha Christie, who is relatively contemporary. (You can't be absolutely contemporary and classic at the same time, so I won't be using any living authors.) American authors are certainly a possibility—I'm open to suggestions!
2. Yes, I am familiar with the Sylvia Beach Hotel, though I haven't actually been there. I don't think it had anything to do with the series premise itself, but it probably did influence my having Emily turn Windy Corner into a writers' retreat with author-themed bedrooms. I hope to stay at Sylvia Beach someday.(less)

Some years ago I viewed a house that was for sale, and something about the house moved me to tears. I couldn't tell exactly what it was that made the house affect me so powerfully. My storyteller's imagination went to work on the problem, and I ended up writing a novel that presented one possible explanation for such an event. The novel is called The Vestibule of Heaven, and it will release from Waystone Press in summer 2017.(less)

Crossing the Pond

If you know me at all or have read my books, you’ve probably guessed I’m an anglophile. And a pretty rabid one, at that. In my view, the Brits do almost everything better, from TV to accents to cottages to cheese. A glance at my book and DVD collections reveals that my content consumption is heavily weighted toward the UK, so it’s no surprise that, as one friend recently commented, I write with...
