I'm already 26% into it, and it's taken a walk on the weird side. There's a good bit of mystery in this one, but we're not given much in the way of clues to figure it out for ourselves. If I had to rate it right now, it would be 2 stars at best.

Yup, one bad one that we know of and at least two others that are the sons of a witch with no powers that they know of. Their sister is missing, and she may or may not be a witch as well.

I didn't think so. I finished it at 11:30pm EST. It never moved from the 2 star rating for me. The story was too unbelievable for me, even for a paranormal story. I even groaned when the mystery reveal happened. It was too predictable, and betrayal was heaped on betrayal on even more betrayal. It got old too quickly.

I own Zane's Redemption, so I'll be reading that one, but I may quit after it, depending on how it turns out.

If you and Penni like Zane's book, I can grab them from Lendle or my library to read. It's almost a vendetta now for me to read the series, simply because I'm so far in it!

I gotta play catch up...From the Moment We Met and The Wanderer taking me two days each has put me way behind for this month!

Yeah, and that was the deal breaker for me. She wanted children so bad, and (view spoiler)[in the end, she abandons that dream so abruptly that it was unbelievable. No one would go (over the course of two books) that long with wanting a child that they drop it that quickly (hide spoiler)].

I have to admit I'm enjoying this book.
Yvette used her sense of smell to figure out the connection (view spoiler)[ between Haven, Wes and Kimberly.

That's cool. I like how Tina Folsom made Yvette less bitchy in this book. I really like her in her own book.

She was working with Gabriel's wife, the doctor? I forget her name...Anyway, at the beginning of this book, Yvette was being tested on the hows and whys of why female vampires were sterile, and Doctor Lady mentioned something about there being more tests that could be run. Then at the end of this book, Yvette just wants to give up on it without exploring the rest of the options. Why would she give up on it if she was that passionate about it? (view spoiler)[Especially since she was hampered by the medicine of her time in trying to carry a baby to term. (hide spoiler)] It was too unlike Yvette to give up so completely when there were other options to explore, in my opinion.

but I thought part of her drive to have a baby was because her human husband made her feel "less than" a woman for her miscarriages. So having a child would affirm her woman-ness.
But with Haven, she doesn't feel inferior, she feels completely loved and accepted as is.
Thus no need to prove her womanness anymore.

Excellent point, and one I hadn't thought of! Doesn't change my mind though, that she gave it up too easily, but I can also temper my dislike of the ending a bit with this logic.

I like the dichotomy in Zane's personality. He seems to be a tad psychotic, but then he is holding a baby, he's petting a dog etc. Hard and Soft--a good look.

I am actually BEHIND you in the series. I think he is the worst dr. ever lol. He hasn't fixed anyones problems yet. Yet they still call him, visit him, pay him. He quotes all sorts of confidentiality crap when it suits him, then tells Gabriel everything before telling her. With the with situation, he wouldn't give the reference without first having Gabriel promise to read someone for him. His morals are screwed completely.

I haven't read Yvette's yet. Maybe he redeems himself there.

he helps people by listening, he's not a solver, he's a bouncing board by which the client actually figures out the solution after Dr. Drake asks probative questions.

I finished it. It's one of the better ones of the series, and I'm giving it a 4 star rating. Gonna look at Quinn's book, see if it interests me enough to purchase it.
