My Review:
I've read all the books in the Black Knights series, but this one had a very different vibe to it. There is a LOT of mental thought and self talk with the two main characters in this one. On one hand, it was fun because both characters are snarky and full of delusional self-honesty...they tend to argue points back and forth internally. But on the other hand, there was so much happening in their heads that I think the story on the page suffered a bit for it because there was less action ...more

Hell for Leather is almost like a full circle book in that Bryan “Mac” McMillian was the grumpy FBI agent we’d met many books ago but really knew nothing about even when he became ex-FBI and joined BKI plus there is a huge life event that happens for Nate (Ghost) and Ali who were the two that started this series.
Mac and Delilah, who owns the bar where the BKI men frequent, have been doing the dance for few books. She likes him but he avoids her like the plague. But when her uncle goes missing h ...more

Another one down in this series. I've got to say, the romance didn't work for me. I'd have slapped Mac a long time ago and been over whatever feelings I thought I had for him with his treatment of Delilah. The humor in here is what saved the book for me. I got caught laughing out loud at work several times :)

Hell for Leather is Book 6 in Julie Ann Walker's the Black Knight Series. It could be read as a stand alone but would be a lot more enjoyable if you at least read Book #5 in the series since a few key interactions between the two main characters in this book happen in the previous book.
This book centers around Mac, a former FBI agent who is one of the Black Knight operator. The Black Knights are a covert, privately run black ops group who work for the government gathering intelligence and compl ...more

I've really been enjoying the Black Knights Inc series by Julie Ann Walker for a while. If you have been reading the books you know exactly who Mac and Delilah are. The last couple books in this series you've been teased with little bits of them well it's finally time to see them sizzle right off the page. Delilah's uncle disappears and she's looking for Mac and the Black Knights Inc to help her find him. At first it didn't seem like it was going to be that big a deal and then someone tries to k ...more

I LOVE this author!
This is one of those series, that I accidentally stumbled across at Wal-Mart of all places. Long ago, I found the first 2 books for $1.99 a piece. It was an amazing series & I ordered the next 2 books via amazon & they are on my auto-buy list permanently.
This was another great addition to the series, continuing shortly after Delilah's bar was shot up & a friend of hers was killed.

I can't get enough of the Black Knights!
This is book six in the series and if you think the explosive action and intense heat has toned down at all, think again. If you are already a fan than you are probably as excited as I was to see Delilah Fairchild and Mac McMillan finally get their story told. The two have been skating around each other for a while so you know the heat was going to be high and oh, is it ever!

Walker’s expressive & emotive writing brings this story to life in a huge way. Action and suspense kept me on my toes while the explosive chemistry between the characters ratcheted up the heat of the novel by several notches. The plot was lively & fun, while it also kept me guessing.
I love Delilah! She’s the perfect heroine set beside the BKI Alphas. Mac’s emotions are so out in the open at times, they were quite unexpected. Together they create an emotionally poignant yet extremely suspenseful ...more

The Premise
The sixth book in the Black Knights, Inc. series by Ms. Walker features Delilah Fairchild, who has run the biker bar next door to BKI for years - and for about that same amount of time she’s tried to get Bryan “Mac” McMillan to explore the crazy attraction they have for each other. But Mac’s bound and determined to never let That Woman (his oh-so-affectionate nickname for Delilah) into his arms or his heart. But when we begin this story, Delilah is frantically searching for her uncle ...more

I liked this book it just wasn't everything I wanted it to be. I really enjoy this series but I have to say that Mac is my least favorite so far. I know many people will feel differently. I just didn't connect with him like I have the other men of Black Knights. I wanted a little bit more of the bad boy that the other books have brought. Don't get me wrong, he comes across hard and bad-ass but deep down he is just damaged and scared. I didn't like seeing him so closed off. Delilah, on t ...more

I wasn't that impressed with this book. Mac has spent most of the series ignoring his attraction to Delilah and her advances spurned from her own attraction to him, and in this book we find out why. It has to be the FLIMSIEST excuse as to push a woman away! Delilah, whom we've seen be the strongest, kick ass heroine to date, gets overly emotional in this book, just like previous heroines of other books in the series have gotten. It's almost like the second they get their own book, they have to t

Another fun and exciting entry into the Black Knights Inc series. Delilah is the owner/bartender of the bar that the Knights go to. In the previous book, Born Wild, her bar was the scene of a shootout where one of her favorite customers died. Several months later she is still trying to deal with the memories of that day. When her uncle goes missing while visiting a friend, it's the Knights who she goes to for help. Also in the previous book, we get a glimpse of the fire between Mac and Delilah.

This is one of those books that I loved and yet I don’t. What I loved: The overall story arc. I loved the pace of it, how the reader finds out why Uncle Theo was kidnapped and how it was resolved, especially how the Knights got to stick it the company. The way that Agent Chelsea Duvall was brought in was brilliant as well as realistic, it flowed well with the story and dear lord I can’t wait to see more sparks flying between her and Dagan, who, if it weren’t for Ozzie and Ace, would be my favori

Delilah Fairchild has wanted Bryan "Mac" Macmillan for years, but he's never shown the slightest inclination that he's interested--he seems to avoid Delilah when he comes to her biker bar, and he doesn't respond to any of her flirtations. However, when she comes into the bar one day and asks for Mac and Dagan Zoelner's (his coworker at the Black Knights) help in finding her missing uncle, he doesn't hesitate.

This is excatly what I needed. After a month of reading YA books I was in serious need of some romantic suspense and Hell for Leather is a perfect example of one. Not only does it have a lot of action and ass kicking, it's all done with a healthy dose of humor that made me laugh out loud even in the most tense situations.

Right so, I finished. It was hard, I didn't like this, but I finished. I looked back and I was reading this series like crazy, one after another and when I got to this one, I had to stop and I stopped for years. Just not much at all worked for me. I found the characters immature and lacking. Excuse me, former CIA, FIB, big bad working for POTUS dudes, but you are going to sit and get into immature verbal sparring or juvenile flirtations when people are disappearing, dying, being kidnapped...etc.

I've been waiting for Mac and Delilah's story and I was not disappointed! The action never stopped, the characters were believable, and the world was rich and real.
I think one of my favorite things about the BKI books is that these characters are so real. Even when the heroines are unsure of themselves or lack confidence, they are never weak. “Eh.” He shrugged his big shoulders. “People get stabbed all the time.”
“In what universe?” she demanded incredulously. “Most folks I know get hangnails, not knife wounds!”
“Really?” Zoelner asked, reminding Delilah of his presence. She’d completely forgotten about him. Of course, who could blame her when every fiber of her being was focused on the fact that she’d freakin’ stabbed Mac. Holy shit! “Maybe that means we’re in the wrong business, Mac. Because I’ve seen plenty of stab wounds, but I can’t recall ever laying eyes on a hangnail.”
“Are you thinkin’ a change of career is in order?” Mac asked Zoelner, one corner of his mouth twitching.
