So glad you like your picks Nancy!

I actually just got my hands on a copy of A Little Something Different today from another neighboring library. I would love to buddy read that one with you if you want!

I can start it whenever you are ready, no rush. I would just like to finish it by Oct. 21 so it will count for the Random List Challenge. If you need more time we can always chat about it whenever you are done :)

Aarati | 148 comments Hey Vi,

Thanks for all those awesome picks. All of them look so good. But could you change Angels Fall by Nora Roberts please? I've already read it.

message 162: by Vi (new)

Vi | 2794 comments Hey Aarati, sorry I didn't reply to your earlier post. I had a busy weekend. I thought since I had recommended either Angels Fall by Nora Roberts or Naked in Death (In Death, #1) by J.D. Robb , I didn't need to really replace :P

Since you ask, my next choice was going to be The Cuckoo's Calling (Cormoran Strike, #1) by Robert Galbraith . It's JKR's alter-ego; I haven't actually read this yet (been meaning to for months actually) but it has pretty good reviews.

Glad you liked the picks, Aarati. Happy Reading!!

~KarenH~ | 11344 comments Hi Poongothai!

I finished my first pick yesterday, To Kill a Mockingbird, and I really enjoyed it. Even though it's not the type of book or storyline that I read much, it somehow just struck a chord with me. I listened to the audio version, and Sissy Spacek's narration was the icing on the top - her voice fit the part perfectly. Thanks for the push to get this off my TBR! I still have several more that I'm hoping to get to this month...

message 173: by LaurLa (new)

LaurLa | 5085 comments Hi MountainKat: I finished Heroes Are My Weakness by Susan Elizabeth Phillips this weekend. I love love loved it! I like SEP a lot but I don't love everything she does, but this one hit the spot! It was gothic yet contemporary at the same time... at least through the first half of the book. It felt happy after reading which is the goal for me!

Thanks so much for the pick. Not sure what my next one will be... probably Do Over by Mari Carr but maybe Rock Chick Redemption (Rock Chick, #3) by Kristen Ashley ... so many choices!

message 174: by MountainKat, Moderator (new)

MountainKat | 31599 comments I'm glad you liked it! I finished Heroes Are My Weakness over the weekend too - not my favorite of hers, but I did enjoy it. And like you, it made me happy and that is the goal after all!

I adored Do Over, but I've been married forever so that might have had something to do with it. =)

I hope you love whatever you pick next!

I just finished my first pick Spider’s Revenge and I find myself thankful that I listened to the audiobook, tired by all the repetition and glad that with this book finished the Mab Monroe storyline. I gave it 3 stars.
Thanks for getting me to read it;)

Hi Ra~Luka. I finished my first pick- Louisiana Longshot (Miss Fortune Mystery #1) by Jana Deleon . Loved it a lot. This small town cozy mystery had a lot of red-herrings and was full of comedy of errors told in a sober voice that made it fun to read. Loved it. Thanks for picking this book!

Nancy H | 1111 comments Hi Fran,
I have finished two picks and I loved them both! The Rosie Project and A Little Something Different. Thanks for the great recs! I will be reading more but I'm not sure what I will pick up next. I will let you know.

The Rosie Project (Don Tillman #1) by Graeme Simsion A Little Something Different by Sandy Hall

message 185: by [deleted user] (new)

Ra~Luka, I finished my second pick Angels' Blood (Guild Hunter, #1) by Nalini Singh . I loved the gory scenes, the hunting and fighting scenes. I loved Elena's character. A strong, no-nonsense but practical heroine, indeed! However, I can't help but compare it to the Psy-Changelings series, and in that aspect, this book lacks a certain warmth to it that all the books in the Psy-Changelings world have. Still, I liked this book a lot, and am looking forward to see what happens to Elena and Raphael after this transition.

Thank you for pushing me to read this book. I'm sure I wouldn't have touched it for a long while otherwise!

Fran | 12278 comments It's hard to believe 2015 is only a few months away!

If you are interested in hosting either the Pick-It-For-Me or Monthly Challenge for one month, during early 2015 (February-April), please send a private message (PM) to either Fran (for the Monthly) or MountainKat (for the PIFM).

They will give you all of the rules and guidelines for hosting and let you know about availability. If you would like to host a month later in the year, don't worry, there will be another opportunity to volunteer in a few months.

Don't be shy! If you have been an active member of the RRRC for six months or more, have participated at least three times in the challenge you would like to host, why not see if hosting is something else you might like? It can be as addicting as the challenges themselves!

Vi | 2794 comments KarenH, I finished Serpent's Kiss (Elder Races, #3) by Thea Harrison which I really enjoyed. I'm glad I finally got back to the series. I'll definitely be continuing the series.

Also finished Enemies on Tap (Sweet Salvation Brewery, #1) by Avery Flynn - it was an ok read. I sort of expected a very hardcore enemies to lovers story but I wouldn't really classify it as such. It's more second-chance trope.

Thanks for the push! It helped me with other challenges.

message 200: by [deleted user] (last edited Oct 23, 2014 11:36PM) (new)

I finished two more picks.

Confronting the Demon by Ciara Ballintyne - ★★★ was an enjoyable short fantasy. The story is tightly packed with no unnecessary details, which I both liked and did not like. The book could have done with some more world building, though. Additional world development could have made it into a much more interesting book.

Married By Morning (The Hathaways, #4) by Lisa Kleypas -★★★★ I enjoyed this one. I was so looking forward to this book, and I did like it a lot. Leo and Catherine Marks were an interesting combination! But there was a very trivial thing in this book that bothered me a lot. Marks' glasses kept falling down often. Really? I've been wearing glasses for a long time, and it has never once fallen down. That it kept falling down for her bothered me to no end. Silly reason, huh?

Anyway, that you so much for picking them.
