I've been thinking of Arobynn and the wyrd key necklace recently. So.. With Aelin talking to Arobynn in the beginning of QOS he again is sorry and wants to help her ( obviously we've heard this before ). Wants to help her save Aedion but of course wants something in return.. Someone with a collar. This all points to Dorian, could end up being someone else but I believe he'll be involved somehow.. What would be safer for Dorian? Staying in the castle with the king? Or potentially being locked up at the assasins keep with Aelin and the others keeping a close watch? In my head I see a rescue mission for both Aedion and Dorian. But on to my point.. What could make Aelin trust arobynn enough to hand over Dorian. Strait up ask for the necklace that he stole. Not tell him what it is bug tell him that it is important enough that if he hands it over to her without question that she would truly trust him. Just playing ideas but I have this theory in my head
Also my thought on getting the collar off Dorian.. He's going to have to do it himself. The collars are Valg prince right? How did Aelin defeat the Valg princes? Herself ( and with magic. Duh) but she came back from almost being destroyed by them by coming to terms with her fears and regrets and her dark past. If Dorian can do the same then I believe he can take the collar off some how. ( also just making a parallel but Valg princes are def Sarah's form of dementors..)
Not that I think Dorian should go to arobynn..
She might be able to free him with the Wyrd Key in her amulet once she gets it, but it may also depend on whether or not he's been possessed by one of the Valg. Scary when you think about it.
Aelin doesn't trust Arobynn, she knows what he's like. She's playing along with his games while playing her very own. It's a chess match between the two.As for the Dorian theory, I have thought of that myself. Him being able to free his own by going through what Aelin went through. Releasing his own magic, but I don't think it'll be that simple and easy. Dorian may not even be saved up until the end of QOS. Sarah will build it up, show us every side of Dorian. Before he "bursts" out of his shell. It'll be so emotional, I already feel it ;A;
I might punch Aelin if she handed Dorian to Arobynn. I'm sorry but I do really hate the guy, coz you know... he's the number 1 traitor in the series. Ugh. Gavin once helped Dorian, and I am hoping that he would keep my baby safe...
Omg Danielle i totally forgot about Gavin. I could totally see him helping save Dorian. Maybe Gavin is the reason that Dorian hasn't been completely taken over yet

Unless she has some mischievous plan to back it up, a help from Chaol or Rowan perhaps? Then maybe they'll trick Arobynn. Give him a taste of his own medicine.
In Crown of Midnight Gavin helped Dorian to find Celaena doing the thing with the wyrdmarks in the tomb
Had to look him up, but yeah, if Gavin can help Dorian like Elena did Aelin, that'd be great.

So I just reread throne of glass.. And in one of the first real conversations she has with Dorian when he's complaining about his mother and her court and her trying to find him a wife for the future queen. It is celaena/Ailen who is like.. What your actually looking to marry for love? You're the crown prince you have power in who you marry and alliances with other countries. Make a kingdom where every man governs themselves.. I'll have to find the direct quote but that's the basics of what SHE said. So in thought.. Why can't she have all her men?? Marry Dorian cause that would be the best power move whether she loves him or not. As of now we know she loves him as a friend. But just cause they marry doesn't mean she can't have whoever she loves either.. Just a thought
That would be a good power move but I don't think Dorian would be ok with that. He said something like "you marry the one you love and no other" so I don't think he would marry Celeana for convenience or just an alliance (BTW I am a Celorian shipper so I kinda am hoping they get married but for better reasons then just an alliance :) )

(Back to the conversation) Ok so the Aelin and Dorian pairing at the end is definitely not probable then. So... Maybe Aelin will end up getting back together with Chaol. I don't think she'll end up with Rowan, he's so much older than her it just doesn't feel right, I think they should just remain as friends. I'm kind of at a loss at how ToG will end. That's good writing from SJM, she's keeping us all guessing.
Sarah wasn't necessarily talking about just the romance when she said people shouldn't expect the same ending as in QoG, and even if she was, that doesn't mean Aelin and Dorian can't still end up together, it would just need to happen in a different way because their build up is being totally different too. I wouldn't say it's improbable for them to end up married (there are a lot of hints in the three published books suggesting just that!), but we'll need to wait one more month to see what direction QoS takes the romance. Aelin will supposedly make her decision in this book? Am I the only one surprised by that? Perhaps it means she will (mate) bond with one of the boys.
Lexie: where did you get the pdf??! I really want to read Queen of Glass but it was already taken down by the time I discovered Throne of Glass.
Ha! Look who can make predictions! I have no idea how it happened in queen of glass but I'm quite literally saying that Ailen gets everyone and anyone she wants. Cause according to HER in throne of glass marriage isn't the end all be all for her. Who says she can't have chaol/Rowan on the side. Am I missing any ships? Throw some nox and Cain and king of adarlan on the side too?! Haha
I think that Celaena and Chaol end together, although probably Chaol dies at the end of the series what would leave Celaena and Dorian together (I don't think Rowan as a love interest for celaena so...).
Same, I don't see Rowan as a love interest. I'm thinking Celaena will end up with either Chaol or Dorian. That's all I can see happening.
I agree I feel like Rowan and same as Aedion are just gonna be Aelien's buds. I think Chaol will die eventually or what will happen to him is like what happened to Gale in Mockingjay. Like he's just gonna become like this general or whatever in the rebellion or revolution and will kinda just follow along in the story but not make too much of an impact because I really don't see where else his character can go or what else he can really do in the story
It's really great that SJM is keeping us all guessing. We are all only making theories, honestly, we have no idea what could happen in this fourth book, especially regarding the unpredictability of the others. That just proves SJM's greatness of writing and plot building, the audience is always kept on edge and it makes us keep coming back for more. All hail Sarah J Maas!
Agree. For me her choice is just between Chaol or Rowan. I someway think that Dorian and Aelin are bff! I mean, both are rulers, both have to use a crown they don't even want, so they understand each other. Perhaps I have a trauma, but i think that Aelin and Dorian will marry with different persons (or fae) and Aelin's daughter will fall in love with Dorian's son. Remember? The history repeats....
Just imagine:
Dorian: Ohh my friend! Our sons are getting marriege... They look so cute.
Aelin: Yeah! You know what... The party has to be the best ever....
Dorian: We have to invite all Rifthold....
Aelin: Are you kidding???? We'll invite all the friking world!!!
@Noris Oh that would be the most adorable thing! Yes I love that idea. I still think that it's possible for Aelin to end up with Dorian but if not I definitely like that idea of their offspring fall in love, that would be so beautiful.
I quite agree with that theory Noris. I can definitely see that happening, never saw those two together for the same reasons you've mentioned. I adore Dorian but more as a fictional character bf than Aelin's beau ;p
I don't think Chaol has anything major again to contribute to the storyline. Everyone else either has powers or are prince\ princess.Dorian will have a bigger part due to his powers, his father and the collar and him going dark.This is why I see Dorian and Celeana having something more than being friends.
Aside from Ren, Chaol is the only one left who can pass all the info they gathered in HoF to Aelin, and she would probably kill Ren on sight.
What is this Queen of Glass? Another novella? For Queen of Shadows, I cannot wait to see Aelin making her entrance at the castle. Whether as Caelan or Aelin, if she comes face to face with the king, you know it will be epic. Magic needs to be restored so we can get some major showdown and Aelin badassery. I'd also like to see Rowan, Chaol, and Aedion interact once Chaol mans up an decides what he really wants. His deciding to side with Dorian was a turning point, but if he's going to end up with Aelin/Caelena, his character still needs to grow up and then see Aelin as a woman, not "the girl" with whom he fell in love.
I agree with Kisses A. The only contribution Chaol has to the story now is being able to pass the information about what happened on the castle to Aelin. Dorian will have a bigger role in the story bc Aelin needs to find out how to free him from the collar. And i so wish that Aelin and Dorian will end up more than friends.

Yeeesss I completely agree with you about Chaol growing up a little before he can ever be with Celaena/Aelin. (Though I honestly don't pair her with anyone right now because I love all of the male characters and I simply can't decide....kind of leaning toward Chaolaena thoug lol. ) And apparently Queen of Glass was the original title of ToG before it was officially published and hit shelves. I guess SJM posted it on Fiction Press as such. I assume she changed some things however seeing as how the previous comments say so. OBVIOUSLY FOR THE BETTER because the ToG series is AMAZINGGGG!! xD And is it weird that I don't think Dorian is going to die? (at least not in this book.) Because I wonder if Aelin and Chaol are going to bond over rescuing Dorian or if Dorian being in mortal danger will make Aelin realize she is in love with him ...idk. Either way I just see waaaaaay too many outcomes for Dorian in this book so for him to simply die would just be lack lustre. I MEAN WE DIDN'T EVEN GET A SUPER AWESOME ICE STORM DISPLAY YET?!?!?! lol xD xD

I want Dorian and Aelin to fight side by side with their powers against the king! I don't think we will get any romance between Dorian and Celeana in book 4 but only a deeper understanding/ friendship. There are still 2 more books to go with so much happening that SJM make take her time to dish out romance( if there is even any for them) but I am a Celorian fan so I still have hope.However I think both will have a lot to deal with starting with getting Dorian good again.
The group have so much Celorian shippers!! I really want to see what characters dies in book 4. I think that maybe Aedion or Ren. :(
I want Aedion to survive SO bad. I want to read the reunion between him and aeilen SO bad. I just have this feeling that he may not make it and I'm going to be heartbroken.
I can't decide if I want Aelin and Rowan to have a romantic moment or if they should stay friends who are platonic soulmates. Regardless, I'm glad she finally has a real friend - one who knows all of her story and doesn't fear her. Someone Nehemiah could have been if she lived *sob*.
The way things are looking I don't really see how anyone is gonna have tome to pursue romantic interests. Too much work to be done.
. I really want Aedion to make it and I'm am so hoping for a reunion but o think what's gonna happen is that SJM might just kill him right before he and Aelien reunite just to make us cry even more
I don't think Dorian will die in this book, but someone will die for sure. Each book had a death, be it a main character or not. I really am excited to see more of Dorian in action and more POV of him. I do wish Chaol grows up, the Rowan and Chaol encounter needs to happen, haha!
