Thanks for this post @Giada.
"Littl Dorian wants to be a dragon slayer" Is it a clue to tell us that Dorian will kill some of the witches dragon ?

"SJM knows who Aelin is going to end up with" Argh, this is so frustrating. I'm going to check every detail in QOS to figure who it is.

Hannah Mae | 233 comments So much going on in this series, I don't know how it'll all fit in the next 2 books! QoS will be quite the read. The next two might just have us crying our hearts out.

message 503: by Ale (new)

Ale (bookishunicorn) I hope the next books are over 800 pages. QoS is near 700 but I think I need more

message 504: by Hannah Mae (new)

Hannah Mae | 233 comments We need more, let's be real heh. I too hope the rest would be longer.

message 505: by Giada (new)

Giada I am Chaol Team. As I red in CoM the song of the Fae and the warrior I thought there we are. It is like Aelin and Chaol story. He goes to her to ask a favor for his king (Dorian) and then he learned how to trust and love her despite her nature (as assassin and then as fae) and her heritage (queen). The gift he gave her ist to be loved for who she was.

message 506: by Noris (new)

Noris | 574 comments Agree... But, if you think deeper about it... Rowan fits perfectly like the warrior's song
He also went with her due to orders of his queen.
He learned to trust her... And... Not like Chaol.... HE WAS NEVER AFRAID ABOUT AELIN'S POWERS. By the way, he was pretty sure, he was good enough to handle her

message 507: by Serena (last edited May 24, 2015 07:59PM) (new)

Serena | 160 comments Ohhhhh I really hope she ends up with Chaol but with the way things are currently going, it sounds like it might just be Rowan. Because yes, Noris, he wasn't the one who was afraid of Aelin. It was Chaol who was afraid. Rowan and Aelin are actually pretty similar. They have a strong bond and they're also Carranam. And Sarah J. Maas has said that Fae can have more than one mate in their lifetime...

message 508: by Giada (new)

Giada Rowan is a Fae too. So why ve afraid of Aelin? And yes the bond between them is strong and rare and Aelin told him everything about her past. But he knew yet that she was fae and lost queen. So for me is more inportant that she had risked herself saying tge truth to Chaol at the end of CoM. Despite everything, pain she had put herself in his hand saying the date, that could bring him to the truth about her

message 509: by Noris (new)

Noris | 574 comments Agree. But I mean, Chaol in someway did was afrid of her, not just cause all the fae thing, when he first met her, when he was training her and even later when they were already together, a part of him was afraid (and, of course werried) about the parts of Celaena he couldn't changue or even control. The fact that she was an assasin (don't get me wrong, I don't judge him for that, is logic), the fact that Celaena was incredible strong and clever and soo damn impredictable... And also, he was afraid about her anger... The messy way she get when something annoyed her. And then... Things get worse when he realizes about the fae part of her and the magic of his friend. And there... I face it, I was not mad when he realizes about Celaena being a fae... But when he kinda distrusted or annoyed or something when he realizes about Dorian's magic... I really wanted to kick him in the ass!!!! He was his bff! Even more than an brother!!!!

message 510: by Giada (new)

Giada He's still afraid. Of course. But he'd begun to accept her as a queen. Indeed, at the end od HoF he claimed that Dorian and Aelin are the hope for this empire.
And for the fae being, we'see it in QoS

message 511: by Giada (new)

Giada In CoM he accepted her as assassin, in HoF as queen, and as fae... we'll see it soon! It's perfect! It is a long process, but in love nothing is simple. And in Aelin's life even more

message 512: by Sierra (new)

Sierra Saikaley I am really late to this conversation but I'm gonna jump in

message 513: by Sierra (new)

Sierra Saikaley Ok this what I think is gonna happen. So I think Aelien is gone meet up with Ren, Chaol and mystery woman and there gonna talk and Chaol will be like "something happened to Dorian but I'm not really sure what it is" and they'll all go to that party and try to save Aedion and there they'll all c the collar on Dorian. Now if they safe Aedion in this scene or if thy fail I don't know but I know thy will get him eventually thy hav to! I hav no clue what will happen between this and the rest but I'm pretty sure Aelien will find SAMs grave, she'll find out more about the murder of her parents and she will kill Arobynn or team up with for the sake of the war and I think Manon will betray the king and kinda join Aelien. Now for Dorian I'm pretty sure they are gonna safe him in n this book they hav to or I will die. I think what will happen is a battle between Dark Dorian and Aelien will hav to battle but I think Aelien won't be able to hurt him cuz they're mates (Team Dorian 4ever! Woo!) and he won't b able to hurt her and this kinda how'll he'll break free of the collar. I'm pretty sure the tower will get knocked down next book by Dorian cuz out of everyone he still has his magic. I think by the end of the book what will happen is that the war or whatever wil be like officially declared!

message 514: by Sierra (new)

Sierra Saikaley Sorry for awful grammar and spelling it's like 5am where I am

message 515: by Ale (new)

Ale (bookishunicorn) Aelin at the end of HoF said she was going to call every debt owed to Celaena, her family and bloodline, so I think after Chaol, Ren and Aelin get to rescue Aedion (THAT I THINK THEY WILL) everything is going to be about growing an army, looking for allies, maybe small battles or riots in Aelin/Chaol's POV. I agree about the War already declared! It's going to be pretty interesting. As for Dorian... Maybe he'll be free near the end of the book, probably (and I hope) saved by someone else rather than Aelin; or he saves himself. Aelin not hurting Dorian in my oponion doesn't have anything to do with them being "mates", but rather because from what we saw in HoF, the only way of freeing someone from that collar is to kill them, so of course she doesn't want to kill one of her dearest friends (the only one she had at the end of CoM). I reaaally hope there is another way because I don't like to think about Dorian dying :(

message 516: by Sierra (new)

Sierra Saikaley I agree about the whole building the army and getting the allies thing which besides saving Dorian and Aedion will be the majority of what happens in this book and the next book too and then the last book is the big war itself. Also to that is why I think it's so important that they save Dorian. Not just bcuz I love him or for personal reasons but strategically if Dorian is saved then he most likely will be on Aeliens side and having the crown prince leave his own court and fight for Aeliens army would make suck a big impact on the people. I think it would show them how truly terrible the king is if his own son and heir won't fight by him. You know what I mean?

message 517: by Ale (new)

Ale (bookishunicorn) Yes, I know what you mean. He has to be free, i just think is going to happen very late in the book. The whole collar thing is an element to make Dorian grow as a character, maybe he will realize that he is greater than this dark magic and will free himself and he'll be Aelins' ally and a stronger man than he was before. Or Chaol will free him so they can be better friends than before. I don't really know what is going to happen to Dorian but he can't die, he has to be King of Adarlan!!

message 518: by Sierra (new)

Sierra Saikaley Yeah I agree i think it will be like Peeta from the hunger games where he gets hijacked and it's near the end when he's gets better but for Dorian it will be him getting the collar off at the end. I don't know but I still think Aelien will save him at some point in the book. I just don't know what Chaol could possibly do to save him.

message 519: by Giada (new)

Giada ok I don't know why she had planned to be tricked by the new guard of Adarlan but that was her first pass in her plan.
After that she will go to Elena's sarcofoge and there Mort will say her where to find Chaol and what happened to Dorian. Them the encounter with Chaol at her apartment and the presentation as his queen to Ren. They will go to Arobynn to male a bargain for saving Aedion. There I think she will finally see Sam's grave and find Lysandra. Lysandra will make a important role in the plan to save Aedion, maybe at the ball. Save Aedion, done. Then she will find a way to take Dorian away and to lock him somewhere until they found a way to free him without kill him. For the tower I think they wouldn't destroy them in this book. During the experiment Chaol realized it was dangerous to free so magic so maybe they will go around the continent to search alley and a way to destroy the tower. Maybe in the desert where she can ask help from Silent Assassins.
At the end of QoS she will find the amulet a maybe a battle against arobynn

message 520: by Hannah Mae (new)

Hannah Mae | 233 comments I agree with the ally gathering, with Dorian maybe released from his collar. But I DO have a feeling that he will have to face Aelin in battle. It'll be heartbreaking, because he'll know he doesn't want to hurt her inside, but his body can't control it. I too think he'll be king, but this possession will be a big character development for Dorian. I can't wait to see how this will play out in the book. But I doubt a lot of this will be resolved in QoS. For sure Aedion will be saved though. I feel the reunion is more of the focus in this, to help Aelin gain and gather her allies for the big war later on.

I too think she will end up seeing Sam's grave, this too will be devastating to read. We all love Sam, any mention of him just aches. She will somewhat have her closure at this moment, I think. I don't think Arobynn will die in this book yet, I think he'll team up with Aelin first. She'll use him as much as she can and he her before they settle their debts.

message 521: by Giada (new)

Giada I agree. Arobynn isn't going to die in this book. But some fight with Aelin, sure. They will collaborate, but not peaceful

message 522: by Danielle (new)

Danielle (dalandanielle) | 233 comments SJMaas never let us forget Sam.
Celaena told Dorian Sam's name in ToG.
Celaena told Chaol that Sam loved her very much in CoM.
Aelin saw Sam in HoF. and she wrote their story on her back.*
And it's just chapter 2 in QoS and Aelin's already reminiscing those times in the Vaults.

*Before HoF was released, I remember those theories circulating that Sam is alive and Celaena will see him in Wendlyn. Like yeah, CELAENA SAW SAM WHILE IN WENDLYN. In one of the most heartbreaking moments, she saw Sam.

I think Aelin visiting Sam's grave then telling him who she really was and her feelings for him. How she miss him. How she would surely get revenge for him. How he became that light in that year Celaena's in Endovier. I think I'm ready but my heart is not.

And I think that might really happen in QoS if Aelin ever gets that red-haired bastard to tell her where he buried Sam. If he even did bury Sam. The son of a bitch probably just burned Sam's body or dumped it in a sewer or something :'(

Just passing through with a little bit of a message for those of you who dislike the name swap in QoS. Because I'm so tired of seeing you people tweeting it and commenting about it on Facebook and Instagram and tumblr and Goodreads and Youtube.

For most of the Queen of Glass and The Fortress of Beauty readers like me, we have been waiting for this name swap for literally more than half a decade. For me, who's been following Aelin's story from QoG to TFoB to ToG to CoM to HoF because my late sister will never get the opportunity to, you cannot imagine how happy I am that Maas finally decided to use Aelin's real name after three thick books.

I'm not dissing you guys who prefer Aelin's "original" name, or those of you who think Aelin will always be Celaena to you. I'm just saying, by not accepting Aelin's real name, you're being just like Chaol, who wouldn't accept Aelin's true identity for the most of HoF.

If Aelin can accept her real self, why can't you?

message 537: by priya (new)

priya (gpriyaa) I agree with you Anne 100% but there isn't really a person here who can't accept the celaena-Aelin name switch. I'm happy your passing on the message, I really don't understand why people dislike the name switch thing (it's just a name, it isn't like celaena is being replaced or anything, she's just growing as a character).

message 538: by Umaira (new)

message 542: by Ale (new)

Ale (bookishunicorn) Wow, I totally agree with you Anne. It really bugs me to see a lot of people complaining about the change of names, saying that Celaena is just an inconsistent character when she really isn't. She has gone through her life hating a big part of herself, using Celaena as a "wall" as I call it, to deal with grief and loss an pain; so it really is amazing to see her finally grow as the amazing character that she is. Maybe is that people can't see this the way we do, which is sad, but well...

Oh, I especially hate it when people say that. Glad you think so too :)

message 544: by Serena (new)

Serena | 160 comments I agree with you Anne. Aelin is who she really is and Celaena was just that wall she hid behind. I try to call her Aelin but sometimes I still end up calling her Celaena out of habit because she has been called Celaena for most of the books. But between Aelin and Celaena, I choose Aelin 100%.
