Ok, I'm thinking about changing my list already. :o) I'm having a really HARD time keeping my paws off the Alpha and Omega book.
But I will keep resisting as long as I can--its only another 6 days til I can read it.

You have more control than me I read the Alpha and Omega book last night I couldn't wait!
Hunting Ground was waiting on my porch when I got home today. I love Amazon's two day shipping.I knew not to list for the Sept. challenge because I won't be able to wait that long to read it.
Hey, I too love that 2 day shipping. I keep my "subscription" up on Amazon for it. (If you shop at Amazon a lot, they give you what is effectively your own UPS account, you pay a set amount per year, then all of your purchases are 2 days. And yeah, I buy a LOT of books from them. Also the odd DVD and occassionaly other item. But mostly I use it to feed my book addiction.
And--speaking of book addictions. Today was the last day of the book sale at my local library branch. Everything they had left was 5cents a book or $1 a bag. I went in and got a bag full today. They do this sale a couple of times a year--then, once a year they have a big huge sale down at the "main" branch (downtown, no parking, lots of people, its a major scrum) and for that one they must have 25 to 50k books. Maybe even more than that. Its usually scattered over all 3 floors of the library, and you can spend hours and hours and hours scouring the tables, boxes, bags and piles of books.

I like this challenge. Nice and easy. Plus its a great way for people to make new friends on Goodreads!
I think I'm gonna have to sit this one out. I just had the baby (his name is Alex, btw) on the 19th and have found that I'm reading a LOT less right now. Hopefully by next month I'll be more settled into the routine and can join back up again.
Congratulations on the baby, Martina.
No worries...the challenges will be here when you are ready.
You take care of yourself and the little one.

Are you talking about the $79/yr plan that they have? I buy a lot of new and used books in stores and online, and I'm starting to think it'd worth the $79 seeing as I get so impatient waiting the 3-5 business days. I also heard that when you sign up for the two shipping that you can get overnight shipping for only $3.99. I'm definitely going to look into that. Anyway, I just wish Sept. 1st would just hurry up and get here.

9/9 COMPLETED
I'm up for the challenge, but like some of you, I am lacking in the friends department. I sent some invites, and would love to meet some more people to commune with about books! Thanks!
Michelle--yes, the $79 a year is what I was referring to. I KNOW I get more than my money's worth from that service. And I'm way too impatient to wait up to 5 days to get my books. Plus, if I pre-order my books, I can usually get them the day that they are released, depending on which Amazon depot they are coming from, since they put them into the mail the day before the release, since they know I won't get it that day.
The vendors (i.e. non-Amazon direct) don't count for the 2 day. But since I tend to order most of my books directly from Amazon, it doesn't bother me too much.
Chris--what we do about our books tends to vary from person to person--and even from month to month. Some people own all their books, some use library only, some use a mix (that's me) and of course, we ALL have been known to sit stroking a brand new release, waiting on the first of the month so we can devour it. :o) Oh, and I almost forgot--some of us use the audio books too.
