Hi' Rocki! Safe travels! Yes, please just remember to check in once a week while you’re away.
Anyone wanna be captain? I won’t be reliable as we’re still RVing full time and I don’t always have WiFi service.

I don't mind being captain. I might need help with posting the shelf calls, though. Posting in the evenings gets a little tricky during volleyball season.
Anyone thinking about their free space book yet??

I loved COTM. Thinking about using it as my 1 re-read for the round. I don't usually use my re-read but I'm dying to read it again a little slower. I ♡ Nell so much!
I've got a few books in mind for my free space. Steel's Edge, Serpent's Kiss, In a Badger Way or maybe start a new series. Thinking about checking out Simon R. Green or Seanan McGuire ... going to check library availability in the morning and decide.

Readers of Unusual Sarcasm (ROUS)
Badass Babes with Books
The Bad Seeds
Reading Rainbows
We Who Shall Not Be Named
That’s so Ravenclaw
Eat, Sleep, Read
Better Read than Dead
Read 'em & Weep
Nerd Herd
Found all of these thanks to Google except The Bad Seeds. That one's been on my mind lately - William March's story of Rhoda, the little psycho, turns 65 this year ♡

I like Nerd Herd and anything Ravenclaw-related. 😁 I’m easy tho. Whichever name the majority likes I’ll like.

Agreed. I'd stay away from that one for those reasons.
I like the three Melissa listed. Let's vote on those three. Here's my ranking, in order of fave ... actually it's exactly as you listed Melissa. 😁

Circle of the Moon by Faith Hunter
Series: Soulwood #4
Shelf: Dark Urban Fantasy (gratefully shelved by one person)
Read: 15 Mar
Rating: ✮✮✮✮½
My Review:
First and foremost, this series is set in the same world as Hunter's Jane Yellowrock and it mentions things that are BIG spoilers for Dark Queen, so you'll want to read that first if you're following both series. Second, if you're a fan of Hunter's Jane Yellowrock and you're not already reading this series, you're missing out!
“Families can suck all the red offa life’s lollipop.”Circle of the Moon picks up about nine months after the events of Flame in the Dark. Nell and her team are trying to determine why Rick's being called to witch circles, who's creating these circles and their purpose.
Nell and the changes/growth (pun intended) in her life continue to intrigue me. And, as a long-time fan of Jane Yellowrock, I was happy to learn more about Rick, whom I'm feeling more sympathetic toward with each Soulwood installment. Nell and Occam shippers are rewarded with some awwwww moments 😍 (view spoiler) ["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>

Review:
A good start to the series I like it that this vampire series took a different turn and made them an alien race. That was interesting. I definitely want to know more about this world. Lucan was a hard ass at first but I think Gabrielle brought him around though he almost realized it to late. It was a nice introduction but we didn't get to learn to much about the society itself and I think that is because she was raised human, I am hoping some of the other books we get a deeper look into the world and how it works. All we know of is the warriors I want to see more, more of the life style if your not a warrior and even the life style of the women. But the first book did grip me and I will continue on.

Wild Country by Anne Bishop
Series: The World of the Others #2, The Others #7
Shelf: Free Space (found on SOS bookshelf)
Read: 17 Mar
Rating: ✯✯✯✯½
My Review:
HE HAS TEETH. SHE HAS A GUN. THEY ARE THE LAW.Wild Country, similar to Lake Silence, takes place within the world of Bishop’s Others, but in a new town. This time we’re spending our time in Bennett, which is near Prairie Gold. Most of the characters are new to us, but those of us who began the series with Written in Red will recognize a few, some if only by name.
“I am amazed by the human ability to be willfully blind.”If you’re keeping current with the series, you’ll know humans lost a lot and rightly so. Despite all the warnings, some humans continue to believe they can not only battle the Others, Elders and Elementals but also survive. That’s one thread that continues to weave throughout this series - if humans aren’t careful, they could lose everything and the race would be eradicated.
Humans. Couldn’t live with them; couldn’t eat them all.At least for the moment, some humans continue to seek ways to survive and thrive in regions controlled by Others, including Bennett. The town is controlled and run by the terra indigene, mainly Tolya Sanguinati and Virgil Wolfgard, but humans are slowly being added to fill necessary positions throughout the town. This makes it easy for humans with bad intentions slip in to town, or so they believe.
It took me a bit longer than usual to get hooked by the story because I was having to learn about so many new characters. I felt that no one character really carried this story, but several stood out and got their hooks into my heart. Sadly, I find myself wondering if we’ll be left with no follow up on their ongoing status since it appears each book within this same world/spin-off will focus on a new town/area/region. I’m still wondering how everyone is making out over in Sproing, and Lakeside for that matter. Yet, while I was holding my breath to see how things played out, it was nice to have some news from Lakeside throughout.
Despite this installment and its predecessor having less than a five-star rating, I continue to recommend this series (and the previous five stories of The Others). This series is always a great read in a fascinating world and I’ll continue to enjoy visiting it whenever Bishop allows.
*It was hilarious that while communication is sketchy, sometimes impossible, Jana was still in receipt of some ‘pump up your junk’ junk emails 😆

Review:
I loved the Edge series. I loved each book more than the one before it. Steel's Edge is no exception. This installment is darker and deeper than it's predecessors. It's fast paced and full of action & adventure. The perfect combination to make it my favorite of the series. As a bonus, all of the best characters from the series seem to make their way into this book. Solid 5 stars for me!
Just need to take a second to mention that I loved Charlotte. I love the dual nature of her gift and I loved that she seems to be an early incarnation of Hugh d'Ambray's Elara. Charlotte and Elara both left me wanting to know more about their powers. I love that the Andrews found a way to tell us more.
