Hiya, Team Caps! Thanks for volunteering to guide your team through a round of BookShelf Bingo! Your job, should you choose to accept it, will require a few things:
1 ~ Be our go-to person should we have any questions about your team
2 ~ Organize your teammate's weekly reads for each shelf/category so that the BSB Ninjas can quickly and easily verify and approve your stamp request(s)
2a ~ Create a master list in a post (preferably on the first page of your team's thread) and update it weekly or as often as necessary
2b ~ Post your team's stats on the Captain's Log prior to requesting a stamp
3 ~ Encourage and motivate your team (you may also ask to borrow Judithe's whip whenever necessary)
4 ~ Post regularly to ensure your team is communicating and on track each week
4a ~ Send them a PM and friendly poke if they haven't posted at least once a week, noted their book choice, and/or appear to have dropped out of webspace
5 ~ Send us a PM (Steph, Sandra or Judithe) should you need us for any reason throughout the game
Hi teamies!!! Looking forward to Bingo!! Let's see I live about an hour NW of Chicago. CST for me. I work full time in the health care field. I have a son and daughter. Son is a freshman in college (where does the time go) and my daughter is junior in High School. Chuckling because I'm on team #2 for another team challenge.
I'll try to think of some team names for us. Also, I don't wish to be captain
Checking in. I love this game. I am nocturnal so tend to be online a bit later than most. I'm not good at thinking up names either. I don't mind being captain if no one else wants to do it.

Hello hello everyone! :-)
So happy that Bingo is starting up soon again!! It's one of my favourite challenges on GR.
I live in Luxembourg, so I'm in a European time zone so I'm rarely awake for shelf call. I can be captain if nobody else wants to do it :-)
As for team names.. I always suck at those.. But I'll have a think anyway.
The number 2 in bingo calls has to do with ducks because the number 2 looks like a swimming duck. Should our name have something to do with ducks?
- Bookish Ducks- Ugly Ducklings (keep thinking of the "fine establishment" in Tangled haha)
- Bookish Ducklings
Why is that number associated with ducks though? Seems an odd choice? Though I do recall learning to draw a swan by starting with a 2.... hehe
They say it's because the number two looks like a duck floating on a pond. And the number 22 looks like two ducks floating on a pond.
Hahah ok, I can actually see it when I imagine a nicely written 2.SECONDARY COMPLETION TRACKER

Hello, sorry for the late reply! I'm in the northern area of Kentucky, USA, so I'm in the eastern time zone. I'm in grad school on top of working full time in a library, but I'm usually good about staying on top of recreational reading too. This is my first group challenge thing on Goodreads, so I'm going to pass on captain-ship, and forgive any excessive questions I may have while I get the hang of things! (Speaking of, does anyone know how to select specific discussions for notification? I had to turn all of them off because I was getting updates for every single team, which I don't need ^^;)
A good way to get notified is to click the button underneath the comment box ~ Notify me when people reply.
The beginning of the week is always hectic for me. Things calm down by Wednesday. Random name thoughts:
2 Duck or Not
Get(ting) Our Ducks in a Row
Reading Double Time
Double the Pleasure
Twice as Nice or Twice as Fun
Sam wrote: "I like Getting Our Ducks in a RowEldarwen, you can be captain if you'd like."
Seconded! I like that one, too :-)
And sure thing! I'll do the captain thing then. Just be aware that I'll be asleep usually for shelf calls so I'll only post them in the thread in the morning when I get into work, unless someone else would like to post them on the thread :-)
Awwww ~ we have a name!! And it's one of mine :) I can post the shelf, too, if I see it. I tend to try to be on at shelf call time just so I know what I'll be looking for. I still have to pick a book for the Free Space. I'll go and refresh my memory of the rules for that one. ( I always remember it can't be any book but forget specifics, lol - you'd think I'd remember after how many times I've played) Looking forward to first call!
lol - good thing I just double checked Bingo call time... I definitely won't be on today at that time. I'm getting haircuts with my daughter tonight. I'll see it later tonight or tomorrow morning.
I'm going to read Indexing by Seanan McGuire for my Dark Urban Fantasy book. It has been shelved 2 times.I'm going to read Night Myst by Yasmine Galenorn for my Free Space book. It is on the SOS Bookshelf.
I'm going to do Tithe: A Modern Faerie Tale by Holly Black, it's been shelved 3 times! For my free space book I'll do Anna Dressed in Blood by Kendare Blake. It's from the SOS Best of Young Adult Fantasy shelf.
I'm going to go with
as my first book for this challenge. It fits for both the Freespace and Dark Urban Fantasy so I'm not sure yet which one I'm going to use it for. It depends on how my reading goes this weekend because I also have to squeeze in a BOM book.
Lots of books on Dark Urban Fantasy are calling my name though haha, so I'm probably going to end up using Kiss of Death for Freespace :-)
Here is a Spreadsheet where you can keep an eye on overall progress.Especially helpful for Sam, if you're going to do your tracking thing again as you did for the last few rounds?
Hi ladies ~ I’ve seen the call.........just not sure yet what I’m going to go with. My corporate boss visited me at work yesterday so no time to peek at books during the day, lol. I will peek today and see what I’m going to go with.
Ok - I've found 2.
by Ben Aaronovitch on page 1 and shelved by 2 peopleOR
by Vicki Pettersson on page 2 and shelved by 2 peopleDepends on which will be easier for me to get. Plus I may read the first chapter to see which I like better, lol

Review: Fairy tales are real. And bystanders get hurt when a fairy tale is playing out. It is up to the agents of the ATI Management Bureau to protect the innocent. All of the agents of ATI are involved in fairy tales themselves so are better able to recognize when a fairy tale is involved. But now someone is playing with the fairy tales and it is up to Henry and her team to find out who is causing this and put a stop to it. This book was initially released as a serial, so there is some repetition at the beginning of each chapter, which was a little annoying. But I did enjoy the story and look forward to seeing what is next for this team.
I'm gonna borrow Sam's format for the completion post, hop that works!Shelf: Free Space

Review: This story features a ghost hunting teen named Cas facing his most powerful opponent yet, a murdered girl known to the locals as Anna Dressed in Blood. His mother is a witch, and he's been training to hunt down his father's killer. I thought the concept all sounded interesting to me, and it definitely scared me a little at times (I live alone, and found myself glancing over my shoulder while in the middle of the book) but ultimately it all fell kind of flat to me. I thought the dialogue was a little awkward at times and the plot wasn't super compelling to me once I got into it. I love Kendare Blake's other series, but I think I'm going to pass on continuing this one.
Absolutely fine, Tori! It has all the required information, so that's perfect :-)Shame though that you didn't enjoy the book very much.

If you end up liking both, you could always use the second one for Freespace if it fits the requirements!

Yeahhh, but that's just how it goes sometimes. I love a ton of Holly Black's books, so I'm thinking Tithe will go a lot better lol.

So well see - if I like both I might do that. Didn't have a chance yesterday to search for what would work for the Free Space :)

Review: Cecily is a partially trained wind witch. She receives a message on the wind that her family is in trouble. She returns to New Forest, Washington, to help her aunt and cousin. Upon her arrival, she discovers that her aunt has been kidnapped. Something strange is going on in New Forest and is seems to have something to do with the mysterious Indigo Court. This book had some good points (I liked the concept of the Indigo Court, and I like Grieve). But one thing that bugs me is the everyone seems to think that Cecily is going to be some great power and yet everyone is walking all over her. I hope she finally grows a backbone or this is going to be a horrible series. I will be reading at least the next book to see if the story improves.

Review
There was just way too much going on. One bad event chased the next and they kept getting exponentially worse. When they arrived in Blacke, that's when the shit hit the fan and it all started sounding ridiculously like a cheesy horror movie - as stated by one of the characters even. It kind of worked though and it made for a nice change to have a setting other than Morganville for once.
Gosh, I'm still unsure what to read for the free space. I think I'm too spoilt for choice with that one haha.I think I'm going to read
. I've had it on my shelf for ages now without picking it up, so I think it's about time I change that! And for the upcoming shelves, I'm going to try and finish the Psy-Changeling series - I made a nice big dent in that one with the previous round - and apparently the Black Dagger Brotherhood books are on practically every shelf, so I'm going to try and read a couple of those as well to continue the series :-)
We'll see how much of this plan will be possible haha.
This worked out perfect, I have an audiobook that just came off hold that fits this one! (I haven't started it yet)For paranormal I'll read City of Ghosts by Victoria Schwab. It's been shelved 426 times as paranormal.
Busy day! And at the same time much less stressful than the previous ones so I've only had the time now to actually look at the shelf. I'm going to rummage through my books at home and see which one strikes my fancy before deciding which one I'll go for. I've found quite a few I might want to read, and some others that would be quick reads, which would be useful for another challenge I'm in.
