Review: This is the second book in the Jaz Parks series. Jaz is an assassin working for the CIA. She is undercover with her team at a festival, trying to track down a Chinese vampire who has stolen a prototype armor from a US base. She also has to deal with soul stealers known as reavers. She is having weird sleep walking nightmares every time she sleeps. She also has to try and make her team get along. I am really enjoying this series. Jaz makes a good assassin, but she also cares about people. I have hopes that after the events of this book, her relationship with Vayl may progress. I look forward to the next book.

Review: This series was recommended to me years ago by a friend when I mentioned I liked magic in a modern setting, and I really did enjoy how the worldbuilding handled the alternating magic and tech fluctuations (the explanation about why phones sometimes worked was wonderful imo). I did find some things a little grating, like the plastic surgeon, but overall I enjoyed the story, and I think I'll keep it in mind when everything else on my tbr looks boring.

I love this series!! I think I need to go back to the beginning and do a re 'listen' this time :)
For Science Fiction, I think I'm going to read Doctor Who: The King's Dragon by Una McCormack. It is shelved as science fiction 45 times and has 258 pages.
Hmm, I'm not sure yet. But it's going to be one of these choices:Station Eleven - tagged 2700 times
Unwind - tagged 1813 times
Vox - tagged 318 times

I read "Unwind" when I was in highschool (though I didn't read the rest of the series; I didn't learn it was a series until much later) and it was good! Kind of alarming in the way sci-fi can be sometimes, but good.
Good to know! That's the one I'm leaning towards as it'll most likely be a quicker read than the other two. It's an unfair way to decide on but I'm short on time this week and I still have another shelf to catch up on :-)

The twins are still annoying, so is some of the "banter". But the overall plot I like. Zoey is learning more and more about the use of the elements, and upholds the ideals she is hoping the Dark Daughters and Sons will all portray. Except for the handful of times where she acts like her friends should do her bidding without any of them questioning it. I am enjoying the tentative, not-quite-friendship Zoey seems to be starting with Aphrodite. Though she really needs to figure out what to do about the men in her life. I'm not fond of love triangles, but at least this isn't quite your typical love triangle, close, but not quite.
I’ll be going with

It will be a bit before I get to it as it’s avail on hoopla audio and I had to stop my Wild Country audio for a library audio that came avail. Just finished the library one and will be back to Wild Country.....then this one 😜

Review: Amy, Rory and the Doctor end up near the city of Geath, which the Doctor remembers as a haven for hospitality and civilization. They have not had a war in over 12.5 thousand years. However, upon arrival in the city, they discover that instead of the Council that usually presides over Geath, there is a king and there is gold everywhere. The Doctor recognizes the gold as Enamour, an addictive, mind controlling metal. It is up to our heroes to discover why this change has occurred and help to reverse the effects before Geath is destroyed by others seeking the Enamour. I enjoy the Doctor Who television show and have read some of the novels based off that show. This one didn't quite draw me in as much as some of the others that I have read. It was a good story but seemed a bit easily solved. It was also a little preachy. I will continue reading books in this series though because I do enjoy learning more of the Doctor's adventures.
I've watched the Doctor since it began in 1963. And then they used to replay the earlier episodes, for a couple of decades, every afternoon just before the news. Love the Doctor :)
I have only been watching since the new doctors, but I've seen many older episodes. Just wasn't on my radar when I was growing up.
I don't know why but I always gravitated to scifi, Star Trek & Doctor Who, and I was pretty young, maybe kindy for Doctor Who. Luckily the parents didn't mind me watching :D
It was definitely the kind of show I would have watched, but being in America, hadn't heard of it when it was originally on.
I'm not sure that they actually showed the original Doctor in the US at the time. At least I've not come across anyone from the US that saw them then. I'm in a few FB groups and the US people seem to be only watching the old stuff in the last couple of years.
Sounds about right. When Doctor Who was big in the UK, Americans weren't watching many British shows. Internet hadn't been invented back then. :)

Review: WOW Awesome to be back with The Others. This one takes us to see what has been happening in the towns of Prairie Gold and Bennett. Lots of wonderful characters to meet and get to know. Can't wait for the net book but also feel the need to go back and re read one or two that I've already read. Don't want to say anymore for those of you reading the series.
Am I allowed to use two books from a single series for two shelves? "Alpha Male" is super not my thing, but apparently the Kate Daniels series works for it so if I can I'll just read the second one. (If I can't I'll just use a substitution, since I think that is a thing)
I think I will read Dark Predator by Christine Feehan. It is shelved as alpha male 4 times and has 385 pages.
Sam wrote: "You can use books from the same series for multiple shelves."Very much this!
Sos Bingo is a great way to catch up on a series ;-)
I think I'm going to go for the next DBD book for this shelf.
is the next one up and it's been tagged 73 times.
Awesome! Thanks y'all~ So for Alpha Male I'll do Magic Burns by Ilona Andrews! It's been shelved 59 times.

Review
It's been a while since I read the first book in this series, so it took me a bit to get back into the setting and wrap my head around what was what and what had previously happened, though the stories aren't all that connected.
I enjoyed the plot quite a lot and I liked William. Cerise, I'm still not sure on but all in all, most of the characters were enjoyable, even the villain(s). And I can't help but wonder....

Review: first time reader for this author and there was a lot going on in this book. Lots of characters and worlds to get to know along with how the 'jumping' works etc. It took me several chapters to get into it. Can't say I liked any of the characters right off the bat. Lots of chips on peoples shoulders. I came to enjoy the sniping between Sirantha, March and Dina. Who to believe, which side is right, who will 'win'. I'm intrigued enough to continue the series

It really was a lot to take in for a first book but I was intrigued enough as well to want to continue the series. Haven't yet so far though haha and I've read this for a previous Bingo round and it must have been R16 or even R15.
It's always so disconcerting when sometimes says Steph and actually means the mod haha - it's my name, too ;-))I really should continue the series! Was it you, Sandra, who mentioned that the final books in the series weren't all that or was that someone else on the team at the time? I can't remember..

Wasn't me, I really liked them all. But then again I grew up on SciFi shows & books, so jumpers weren't a new concept for me.
I'm changing my Alpha Male selection to something a liiiiittle bit shorter because of another challenge hehe.I'll be reading

Review: hmmm.....what to say. This had minimal plot with tons of sex in it. If Knight and Slade weren't having it - they were thinking about it. Then we have Knight's anger issues, which for some reason new partner Slade finds hot. Add in that Knight has a genius IQ with a photographic memory. Then acts like a five year old because he has to go through the same training all the other new recruits have to go through. I'm glad that I grabbed this through the audible romance package and that I'm done.
Eldarwen wrote: "Wow, that sounds.... delightful..."Lol ~ maybe I should have waited a little longer to do my review so it would’ve been a little less rant-y 😜
