The alternates:Each number corresponds with the spot on the board.
For colors: The cover has to be at least 50%
For locations: As long as the book takes part at all in the given location .
For Shelves: Any book on the given shelf
For Publication Years: I'll be using how GR has it's publication date listed.

I was wondering if that NancyHelen was the NancyHelen I was thinking it was! What are the odds :D Will be so nice to still be on a team together after our other challenge closes!
Hello, Teammates! I played this game once before, though I sat out the last round. Happy to join the team challenge again. I do NOT want to be captain.
Off to try to think of a team name ...
Hi!I don't mind being captain if no one else ends up wanting to. I've never played this particular game before but I have a pretty wide open schedule so I'm available to update and do the rolls when needed. If someone else wants to who's actually done this before, I'm all for that! Just putting the option out there in case we need it :)
Hey everyone.....I'm looking forward to trying this out. I did a BINGO challenge recently that I absolutely loved and have been looking for another challenge to help me break out of my standard reading habits and try new authors/genres/etc!
That's so nice of you to say! I had a good example in my first challenge ;) My oldest son starts school next week so I'm looking for some things to do to occupy myself instead of sitting around worrying about him all day haha
Great, Cait! Thanks for volunteering. As for names, honestly the only thing I can think of is
SIX SHOOTERS
Pretty lame ...
Or if we want something "book" related ...NEXT CHAPTER
CHAPTER AND VERSE
BOOK BABES
Ooohh ... how about SIXY BOOK BABES ?

I like SIXY BOOK BABES...how funny on the last challenge I did we were the Bootylicious Book Babes! I'm lame at coming up with names, so I'm open to anything.
And I can help on Captain if needed any week...just want to get a good hand on how this works, but if Cait needs help any week I'm available to help.
I've got no opinion on team names because I'm horrible at thinking up things like that lol Whatever you all decide works just fine for me.And I guess that makes me captain unless Shelby says she'd like to be (which if you do, feel free to let me know, I'm not emotionally attached to the idea or anything :P). I'll try to work up some good mojo to get us good rolls! Thank you for the offer, Tara! I will definitely let you know if I need a hand.
I'm in Saratoga Springs, New York. I used to live in San Diego though! My husband is a submariner, we were stationed there for thee and a half years before we came out here :) I'd love to come back someday, I miss it.
I'm in the UK, so I run on different time to everyone else. However my daughter is only 6 weeks old so I tend to be up and posting at all times of the day and night...
This is just a group made out of places I used to live! lol I grew up in Wisconsin. I'm so homesick for it these days!
If everyone agrees, in about six hours Ill put up that I'm captain and we are going to be called Sixy Book Babes. If anyone else wants to be captain or has other name ideas, don't be shy! Have a good day everyone!
I've got books for all possible rolls from 2 to 12 (I requested a few at the library, but they're all in and I can pick them up on Saturday) I should be in good shape for any roll in the first two or three weeks. Ready to get started ...
I don't know her, no, but I hope she pops in soon. I don't want to confirm anything without hearing from everyone :/
That's really organised, BC! I'm so impressed.I don't know Shelby, but perhaps you could let Jenne know if she doesn't check in? Hopefully she's just been really busy and will pop in soon.
Sorry guys - Didn't realize teams had gone up. With finishing up the Celebration in the MM Romance Group and getting new categories out for the Scavenger Hunt plus the new DBML book I've been running a little crazy not to mention you know real life. But I'm here. :D (If it's not entirely obvious I'm a Mod in a different group.)I'm absolutely fine with captain and team name. I've got a lot on my plate at the moment and I'm perfectly happy to just get to read and turn in my books. :D
Oh and I'm PST. I'm in LA - hello to my fellow Southern Californian. :D I work nights for the most part so I'm usually online mid-day and then pretty late at night. Catching me in the morning or most evenings is pretty difficult.
No problem, Shelby! That's a whole lot going on at once.Ill go ahead and confirm our stuff in just a minute then. I'm so ready to get started!
NancyHelen wrote: "That's really organised, BC! I'm so impressed.."Since I rely on library books I really have to think ahead.
Yup! I double checked with the mods to make sure I was understanding the timing right. The first roll is tonight at 1 a.m. my time. I'm planning on setting an alarm and getting up to do the roll and make the post here. I know most of us are working on different time zones/work schedules so I want to make sure it's up as soon as possible for everyone.I keep staring at the dice willing them to give me good numbers. Hopefully they're persuaded by sweet talking ;)
I keep checking back here even though I know nothing has happened yet. I am 400% ready to get started!
Lol! Nice Cait. :D I'll probably be just getting out of work when you're rolling tonight so it'll have to be my first stop when I get home so I can see what fun I get to have tomorrow. :D
Yay! I'm glad we've got an excited team that is anxious to start this! Has anyone done this particular challenge before? I did my first group challenge starting back in late March and it ended up going through early July! Most of the group stayed pretty excited the whole time, although we lost a few people along the way due to real life!I'll be in Kansas when the dice is rolled tonight/tomorrow morning (on a plane now) so I'll stay up to see what we get. Great timing as I'll finish my current book on this flight and will be ready to start a new one!!!
Question on the review we have to write...does anyone know if it needs to be anything in particular or just a few lines of our opinion? I've seen some amazing reviews and that's not me! Hoping just doing a few lines is acceptable.
I looked through a few of the previous rounds to see how the teams did things. It looks like the reviews usually contained a link to the book, the date you finished it, a star review (1-5) and then a paragraph or so of what you thought. Just generally basic what you liked, what you didn't, nothing fancy it seemed.I'm sure just a short one is fine as long as it's obvious you read the book and put a little thought into the review itself :)
Cool. That's good to hear. I do most of my updates and reading threads through the mobile app so I haven't taken the time to look at the past rounds. When I post which book I'm reading I'll have to get online to do that so I'll check those out. I haven't even decided on books yet so this one will be harder for me start. I am anxious to see where we start to decide if I am going to do a series read it an alternate. I have a feeling I will most often use the alternate because I tend to not reread books often and if I find a series I like, I usually go insane and read them all starting at #1!!! So unless we roll a 1 and can start a new series or a new book comes out in a series I've read and I need that number, I bet I will be doing a lot if the alternate reads!
I'm with you there, Tara. I'm planning on reading almost all alternates. Other than #1 and #2 books, I don't have very many series going so the higher numbers especially would be tough. Luckily my to read list is pushing 600 books now so I shouldn't have too much trouble finding things to fit.I just want to roll now so I can start book hunting! I think choosing the book is the most fun part.
Just so everyone is aware ... you can read a stand-alone (regardless of the alternate task) if we land on a 1 or a 0 in any combination (e.g. space 20 or 31)So for the first possible roll:
2 - Series book 2 or alternate white cover
3 - Series book 3 or published in 2004
4 - Series book 4 or tagged "ADULT"
5 - Series book 5 or Title begins with an "R"
6 - Series book 6 or Cover image "tattoo"
7 - Series book 7 or Author name "J"
8 - Series book 8 or set in New York
9 - Series book 9 or Green Cover
10 - Stand alone or Series book 1 or published 2002
11 - Stand alone or Series book 1 or Tagged "COVER LOVE"
12 - Stand alone or Series book 1 or 2 or Title starts "C"
So looking forward to starting too! It's 3.30am here in the UK and, as usual, I am up with baby. I really hope we land on a number which will allow 1st in a series as I have three or four new ones I want to start...
Week 1What We Rolled: 6
We Are On Spot: 6

- Book #6 in a series.

Great! Got you two ladies on the list. If you switch books just let me know so I can update. In other news, my alarm went off at 1 this morning to wake me up to do the roll and I think I had a panic attack thinking it was a fire alarm or something lol The entire time I was making the post my heart was like beating. out. of. my. chest.
Have a great day everyone!
