Props to S.E. Jakes for bringing the heat back onto my kindle! These guys are HOT together. This book is action-packed, man-loving, romantic suspense and a nice follow up to Catch a Ghost. Overall, I really liked this book but I had a few niggles that I'll explain later.

I love seeing these two alpha males together. They are macho, macho with sizzling chemistry between them. It is like when you see a picture of a bunch of hot military guys and you think... "damn, those guys would lo

Oooh, hot men solving mysteries is good enough, but adding in alligators??? It's like someone's been reading my diary.

So in this one Tom and Prophet are in New Orleans helping Tom's elderly aunt during a hurricane. They reunite by having hurricane sex outside. In the hurricane. Now, as a person who has been through hurricanes I can tell you that this is stretching things a bit. These guys would have had their asses impaled out there - and not in a gay sex way - in a tree through their bodies way

OK, I have thought long and hard enough about this review. I'm ready to just write it and move on. There is absolutely nothing I can say that has not already been said, so I'm going with what my GR friend Gina said in her review.

That sums things up perfectly for me. Thanks Gina!

It deserves at least 6 stars, so GoodReads totally fails this book on it's ratings scale. It is going straight in my top 5 list, right in there with Point of No Return, The Final Line, Strength of the Pa

Before I start this review, can I just take a moment to appreciate this awesome cover !! One of the reasons I love it so very much, is because my husband has the same kind of tattoo on his back... gorgeous...sigh...

Anyways, this is the second book in this series about Tommy and Prophet and it can NOT be read as a stand-alone ;)

Now as much as I loved the first book, Catch a Ghost, I just knew I was gonna love this one even more.. and I was right of course. I always am (I wish).

For me, reading any review is a spoiler...
so this could be a spoiler depending on how you read it.
Needing someone this much couldn't be fucking normal.

Raw emotion...a fierce given without intense bond...pain...everything Prophet and Tom represent.

Long Time Gone continues four months later, after Thomas chose another partner to work with, instead of Prophet. His choices were all in the hope of protecting Prophet. But sadly, he regrets his choices and seeks to contact P

5 Stars!

Nothing else mattered, because nature’s wrath couldn’t compare to this.

I was blown away with this book!

The reunion scene alone would have been enough. Luckily for me (and you), there’s so much more.Wow! Action, answers, confessions, apologies, anguish, promises, ghosts, voodoo and gators. And some of the hottest sex around. CraZy shaking need!!!

OH, and one of the best “mine” moments ever! Okay, so it’s a little erotic, but I thought it was perfect.

Long Time Gone picks up where Catch a Ghost left off. Tom is in Eritrea sending daily emails to , not getting any answers and bemoaning the belated fact that he could take better care of Prophet if he was with him instead of partnering with Cope to protect him from his Cajun Voodoo bad luck curse. Prophet is off doing black op jobs and sulking about the fact that Tom didn’t choose him as a partner; but luckily reads Tom’s gazillion emails the night before he decide ...more

These gorgeous guys... so freaking awesome to get to meet them again. I love and feel so much for Prophet and Tom. It was so intense, sweaty, hot and full of emotions and strong desire. Whew, I'm exhausted. I have to collect my thoughts for a while....

A few hours later... - I feel like I'm in a slump right now and writing reviews takes too much time. Therefore, it will be a quick one. (One that I also managed to lose and had to wr

If, like me you get a buzz from the danger and excitement of an action thriller, then you will love this book and this series. But there is more… Oh. So. Much. More …it’s also a romance, unconventional, yet perfect for these two damaged men, there are no words of endearment and not a soppy moment in sight but the emotion they share is fierce and intense, and the passio

Update Jan 3rd 2016: I've read this at least three times, probably four. Chances are, I'd write a different review this time around simply because time has passed and review writing styles change. What hasn't changed one iota is how much I love spending time with Tommy and Proph, Blue n Mick, Phil, Doc, Mal, Cillian, and all the rest. Love.

What you will need while reading "Long Time Gone", Book #2 of the Hell or High Water series. Probably afterwards too.

Hot! Damn! Back again for round two! S.E. Jakes delivers a solid punch with "Long Time Gone". We catch up four months after the cliffhanger from book #1. I won't spoil what happens at the end of "Catch a Ghost" in case you haven't read this series yet. (Meaning: Start this series. Like now-ish)

However, you will be pretty happy with how "Long Time G

So I was not a fan of how the first book ended, and had to keep myself medicated to prevent bodily injury to myself and others when I was done. So it was a surprise when I looked on the calendar, noticed the big red circle and remembered Long Time Gone was released on 10/28. Fortunately for me, I had the day open to be antisocial!

So we pick up four months after the events of Catch a Ghost. It’s really hard to give much new insight for this book, because if you liked its predecessor, then the seq

I've also realized that it's really never too late. For anything.

Is this series turning out to be fucking awesome???

Prophet and Tommy have got my emotions and anxiety in a huge ball of knots....much like how they are....and I'm loving every fucking minute of it!

3? 4? Hell...(and high water)

There were things I liked and things I thought were weaksauce.

Most of my gripes have to do with these two characters who are, in my opinion, circling the jacktard block. I've said multiple times that miscommunication isn't a deal-breaker for me, but miscommunication/non-communication as a plot device that's hammered over and over again just because is.

They say they want to be together but they don't act like it. They say they trust each other but they don't act like

Let's be frank. This book? SIZZLES.

Proph and Tom have great chemistry, and if you liked them in the first Hell or High Water book, this one won't disappoint. There were some fun secondary characters in this one as well, like Tom's aunt Della.

While I love alpha males, these two, they need to do some kind of candlelight dinner cruise. I like my smut with at least a touch of romance, and sadly it was pretty much missing here.

The story moves at break-necking speed. It's all very helter-skelter on

Prophet and Tom are a serious competition to Ty and Zane!!! Their chemistry is like dynamite!!!

I loved the first book, and I think this one is even better! Tom and Prophet intrigued me in Catch a Ghost and I couldn't wait to get my hands on Long Time Gone.

Review coming soon from The Blog of Sid Love.

Prophet and Tom have taken over the top spot on my favorite hot alpha damaged guys list. When we left them in Catch a Ghost, things were kind of in limbo with each going separate ways. Thank goodness, we did not have to wait very long to see them again. Proph has been somewhat busy doing his secretive black ops missions while Tom has been trying to adjust to life with his new partner, Cope. Even though Tom was the one to walk away, he has tried to get

Book (reread) and Audio reviews:

Review – Book: I never would have believed that another series could even compete with the boys from the Cut & Run series, but Prophet and Tommy are the real deal, and not only can they compete, but in some ways they are so much better. Move over Ty and Zane, there is a new team in town and they are absolutely giving you a run for your money. Wow, I’m blown away here.

In this installment, Prophet and Tommy are reunited after they went separate ways in Catch a Ghost
I am glad I didn't stumble upon this series before this book was out. With the amazingly WTF ending of the first book, I'm not sure how I would have coped.

This book primarily takes place in New Orleans and we get a lot of Tommy's history. Also, it looks as though Prophet is done running. He's been taking side jobs since he left EE and was nearly pulled so far under he would have never found his way out.

I just... I dunno. I don't get it. What's the big deal? This was just, well...

I don't know if it's the characters or the story but I cannot connect. It feels like I'm being given too much information. There are too many names thrown in. Too many unnecessary details. And the information I need in order to understand the plot better isn't given to me. I don't even think the sex is all that hot.

Wowza, wowza, wowza. I thought Catch a Ghost was incredible, then along came Long Time Gone, the second in the Hell or High Water series. I can not do a review that will do this justice.

Tommy and Prophet have been separated for 4 months. Neither has been able to forget the other, but Tommy tries with new partner Cope working for EE. Long Time Gone (Hell or High Water, #2) by S.E. Jakes Long Time Gone (Hell or High Water Book 2)

Despite the hot needy creative sex, I still had trouble really caring for these guys. Everything was there, the story made sense, they had angst and issues and guns and kink, so it was good. I think the sentimentality seemed out of character, and much of the story was over the top, creating a cartoony, non-realistic feel for me. They also were just hiding out much of the time, going over 'the issues' again and again. BUT it's worth the read for the

* Great !! Love SE Jakes writing. The men of this series are raw, powerful alpha males, with a high sense of duty, and honor.
Prophet and Tommy have been apart, mainly to keep each other safe from a serious threat. They work undercover, solve problems, search and rescue, keep secrets, and glide under the radar. Prophet and Tommy are also partners, who are tired of being apart. When the hurricane hits town, they bed down together, and the sex is amazingly hot. Then they move it indoors, and cont
