Please edit or correct or delete this quote. (part 4)

A bunch of these need to be merged.
https://www.goodreads.com/quotes/6869...
https://www.goodreads.com/quotes/978-...
https://www.goodreads.com/quotes/7289...
Not sure about the rest. They all seem to have different wording, however some are contributed to other authors.

* I did not post these

#717 Deleted duplicate quote.
#715 Still needs to be done (didn't check).

#715 Still needs to be done (didn't check)."
Thank you for the update!

Quote: https://www.goodreads.com/quotes/7415...
Novel: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1...
Thanks very much!

There were 25 variations of that quote!
The first one is a Quote of the Day and therefore Untouchable. [Cue Elliot Ness music]
The others are now combined into this one:
https://www.goodreads.com/quotes/3222...
Edit: 26 variations

https://www.goodreads.com/quotes/7417...
But because the book titles were truncated on the list, I ended up adding it to the wrong book (the free preview edition, instead of the actual book). It should be attributed to this one:
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1...
Also, I believe the end quote got cut off somehow. I feel like there should be another end quote inside the main quotes. (Aka ...in here.' " - not ...in here." as it's shown.)
Thank you very much!

(I have the Penguin classics paperback in front of me, and the correct line is "[Y]our strength is just an accident arising from the weakness of others.")

And that quote (https://www.goodreads.com/quotes/1349...) have and description in the quote and I cannot fixed it. The message is: "Quote has already been entered."
I did a mistake or is this the default in GR? When the quotes were merged the book (the book that contains the quote) is not showed anymore.
Edit: sorry, #728 in progress.
Edit2: #728 done. And occurred what I said. The number of likes remained the same.

That happens a lot. Sometimes the likes get updated later but not always (not usually). I logged it as a bug with Support at the end of September.

Hi, this quote has been added by someone to this book:
“We can go out,’ she said, throwing her arms around”
― Fiona McShane, Watching Them
It is incomplete. Is it possible to delete? I don't know who added it. Thanks :)

Where it says:
“dark money” - money”— funds
It should say:

#733 done.
Rafael wrote: "#732 even it is incomplete it will not be deleted."
Not quite. It has zero likes, and it's the author requesting. Deletion pending.

Ok. But it's my policy don't delete quotes in this kind of claim. I don't think that claims like that should be done. The quote is not linked wrongly or it has any errors, so I guess them must not be deleted. But, it's my policy, not the GR one.
While librarians are certainly free to refrain from doing edits which they are not comfortable with, even if they are consistent with Goodreads policy, please don't express your personal preferences as though they were official policy. It's very confusing to people making requests.

‘We can go out,’ she said, throwing her arms around me. ‘We can actually go out!’

You are right, rivka. Sorry. I always try to be as a good librarian as possible and I could be more clear when I answered. Sorry, Fiona, for this.

Could someone make the first dash match the second in this part:
"president— Richard Nixon - "

Is it possible to change [D]on't to Don't?
Thanks."
The "[D]" is there because the actual quotation does not begin with "Don't" and the squiggle tells the people that read the quotation that the start has been truncated/paraphrased/screwed.
This is the original quotation (italics in the original):
Beyond that -- don't ever apologise to an author for buying something in paperback, or taking it out from a library (that's what they're there for. Use your library). Don't apologise to this author for buying books second hand, or getting them from bookcrossing or borrowing a friend's copy. What's important to me is that people read the books and enjoy them, and that, at some point in there, the book was bought by someone. And that people who like things, tell other people. The most important thing is that people read...

The "[D]" is there because...
Thanks for the reply - as a librarian I am still learning. The original quote reads so much better - I'm off to hunt it down! :)

Here is the original on Neil Gaiman's website. Last paragraph.

I have a quote here: https://www.goodreads.com/author/quot...
where it says: “We need a fire extinguisher over here because no human should ever be allowed to be this hot.”
but i forgot to add that the quote is in my book The Popularity Project. Do you think you could fix that? thanks!

It is often attributed to her online but I have not found any trustable source. Most importantly, the words sexist and homophobic were both coined in the 20th century, so I don't think a 12th century poet could have used them.

I tried to delete it, but I couldn't, only a superlibrarian can delete quotes with many likes. Someone will delete it.

I am the author of the quotes and book below. I would like to link a book to some quotes and also edit a quote. Please link the quotes listed below to this book:

Please correct a typo in this quote with the spelling of the word "related":

Error in Quote: The quality of the results you get in life is directly relate(s)
Correction: The quality of the results you get in life is directly related to the quality of the effort you put into the process.
Thanks for your help with this

I've attributed it to George Weinberg who is a more likely candidate. He has claimed to have invented the term "homophobia" which is certainly not true. The OED has references going back to 1920. What he did is to reuse an old word in the new, gay, context.
Rafael, you shouldn't try to delete a quote simply because it is reported to be misattributed. Finding the correct person (or at least a more correct person) is a better idea.
Edit: the quote is here:

You are right.

I made an error when submitting this quote:

Is it possible to edit "goal an seeker" to "goal and seeker"?
