I finished listening to Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare, The Infernal Devices #1, and absolutely loved it! I highly recommend the audio version as the narrator was perfect. Here’s my review.

I finished reading the prequel novella The Undertaker's Daughter for a new series by Debra Webb. I did start the first chapter of The Secrets We Bury and stopped as I knew I would want to stay up and finish it.

I am now listening to The Last Year of the War and am already 71% through it and loving it.

I finished The Last Year of the War and really enjoyed it. While I had a few issues with it, I overall felt a connection with Elise. I listened to it at work so was able to get through it pretty quickly. I started Beyond the Point and just could not get into the story or characters. I abandoned it at 35%. I am going to start Someone Knows and am excited!

I am now 51% into The Secretary and it is intriguing so far. I am also reading Death and the Harlot: A Lizzie Hardwicke Novel - a historical mystery.

I finished listening to The Secretary and really enjoyed this psychological suspense. It does have the Mrs Danvers/Rebecca vibes to it, so it could be that. I am now listening to Becoming Mrs. Lewis and so far am enjoying the novel. Years ago, I watched a movie on Lewis and Davidman's relationship (with Debra Winger and Anthony Hopkins I believe) and have been interested in learning more about both of them.

It's more of a simple story without real twists, a bit slow paced but kept you listening. I would recommend listening to it at a faster speed as the narrator's voice is a bit slow drawl.

I finished listening to Becoming Mrs. Lewis and enjoyed this fictional look at Joy Davidman and her love for C.S. Lewis. I am interested to read Davidman's writing. I also finished reading Death and the Harlot: A Lizzie Hardwicke Novel and also enjoyed this book too.



I am now listening to Miracle Creek and am enjoying it a lot more than I thought I would. I am about 60-ish% finished. I am going back and finishing Debra Webb's The Secrets We Bury.

I finished listening to Miracle Creek and absolutely loved this one! It reminded me of Celeste Ng's writing style. My audiobook had an interview with the author and her editor. It was really interesting to hear Kim's thoughts on the book. I finished Miracle Creek early evening so I started on American Duchess: A Novel of Consuelo Vanderbilt. I found this one lacking in characterization, in that the characters seemed to lack any personality. You would hear how the characters were, but not see it. I finished it, mostly because I was distracted with setting up my new phone, and could not tell you much of what happened.
