PattyMacDotComma | 3297 comments I was quite taken with The Bookshop of the Broken Hearted by Aussie author Robert Hillman. Tom Hope is an Aussie farmer, abandoned and stunned, who meets Hannah (of the bookshop and an Auschwitz survivor), and what a pair they make! Excellent book.

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9974 comments I very much enjoyed another dose of the slow horses in Joe Country, but it pays to remember not to get to attached to the characters as Mick Herron seems to have no qualms about killing them off, even the regular ones.

5 big ★s from me and I hope we don't have to wait too long to find out what's in store for Slough House next.

PattyMacDotComma | 3297 comments It was a delight reading The Prodigal Son, the FREE prequel to Aussie author Sulari Gentill’s popular Rowland Sinclair historical mystery series. Rowly’s just returned to Sydney from Oxford and meets a bunch of ‘colourful’ artists - let the fun and games begin!

Carolyn | 9836 comments The Sixth Wicked Child (4MK Thriller, #3) by J.D. Barker The Sixth Wicked Child by J.D. Barker sure is an explosive finale to this great series. Recommended for fans of psychological thrillers but it's essential that you start from book 1 (The Fourth Monkey.

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9974 comments I think that Gemma Woodstock's third outing, Where the Dead Go by award-winning Aussie author, Sarah Bailey can be easily enjoyed as a stand-alone as each book has a different setting, but reading the first two will supply some background to this complex character (who is certainly getting more likeable with each installment)
4.5★s

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9974 comments Sometimes a sweet and sexy romance is just what you need and The Aussie Next Door fits the bill. A predictable happy-ever-after ending can be welcome after a bunch of psychological thrillers...

Carolyn | 9836 comments After reading Furious Hours: Murder, Fraud, and the Last Trial of Harper Lee by Casey Cep, I decided I'd like to re-read To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee which I originally read in high school in the 1970s (yes, young 'uns that was a very long time ago!)
