Len | 143 comments I've now got the pictures back even with VPN turned on. Completely accidentally, I've no idea how I did it. The problem is now that the page doesn't seem to update. Nice pictures attached to lists but they stay the same every day.

Rainbowheart | 28558 comments They're making it harder and harder to find lists. The front Listopia page is useless. If you actually go to a list, you can use the search box to find one, but otherwise, a list will only come if it has the relevant tag attached. You can only search for one tag.

For example, I can still find the Abortion in YA Fiction list if I search for the tag abortion by itself, but if I type "abortion" and "YA" there are no results.

https://www.goodreads.com/list/tag?id...

There is still a section for my friends' lists way down at the bottom, but nothing there is current. There's an arrow you can press to see more, but these are old lists.

Only if you click "more lists my friends have voted on" can you actually see the most recent ones first.

https://www.goodreads.com/list/friend...

There is still no link from the main page to see recently created lists. Kris helpfully provided the link above, but otherwise unless you had it memorized, you are out of luck.

I guess we better bookmark these. If they disappear too, Listopia will be impossible to use.

Marc *Dark Reader with a Thousand Young! Iä!* (marcthedarc) | 75 comments If this were part of some effort to clean up and regulate lists better, I'd be for all that, but somehow I doubt this is the case.

Rainbowheart | 28558 comments It seems like their goal is to kill Listopia. I just realized that there's no more section to see lists with recent activity.

We can still create lists and invite our friends to vote on them, but there's no way for anyone to see them unless they specifically go hunting for them. No way to see what's popular, what's active.

https://www.goodreads.com/list/recent...

Better bookmark this one too, before it disappears.

Ah. Shit. Now I have the new page too.

The page with all the links (no images at all) to the lists by publication year (going back to 1980 only) and decade seems to be gone. Anyone have a link to that? I used it all....the.....time.

The Best Books of 2024 needs some help - this late in the year a list like this should have many more books on it. It only has 585 books, and 679 voters. In particular it needs more books.

message 357: by Rainbowheart (new)

Rainbowheart | 28558 comments I don't think I ever used that.

https://www.goodreads.com/list/show/4...

https://www.goodreads.com/list/show/6...

There are links at the top of each list. Are these the ones that you're looking for?

Thanks. But no, none of those links are to the page I'm missing, which was kind of an Index of lists. It was just a page that was a list of short links to other lists.

It's not the end of the world, since I had voted on all the lists, the links are in my "Lists I've Voted On" - just not in any kind of helpful order. It means it will take me longer to vote the books on since I have to scroll through all 713 lists I've ever voted on to get to them.

message 359: by Rainbowheart (new)

Rainbowheart | 28558 comments Lobstergirl, is it still in your browser history? Maybe you can find it that way.

Hmm, I'll have to look into that.

I'm bookmarking it for future reference as well.

Rainbowheart | 28558 comments Does anyone know if list invitations are working? Usually when I invite my friends to vote on lists, I get between 10 and 15 people who will vote. But ever since notifications went on the fritz several days ago, I'm not getting any takers.

message 364: by Len (new)

Len | 143 comments Looking back through my notifications the last one I had from you was 10 days ago and I couldn't help you with that one.

message 365: by Rainbowheart (new)

Rainbowheart | 28558 comments I just sent you one as a test! No need to vote on the list if you don't want to, but let me know if the notification comes through.

message 366: by Len (new)

Len | 143 comments Notification received. Cats and Christmas not my thing though.

message 367: by Rainbowheart (new)

Rainbowheart | 28558 comments Oh, awesome! Thanks for the confirmation.

Speaking of bookmarking... since the "places" only goes into M now, if i come to a book that has a places listed after M i bookmark it. It's still there apparently, just not accessible.
Well, even "places" has to be typed into the address bar.

Did you find the link to the lists by publication year ??

Rainbowheart | 28558 comments Don't forget to vote for your top books of the year!

Your Top 5 Reads in 2024

It's a bit disappointing that this list got so few takers. Last year it had 318 voters, and this year only 98 so far. Most annual lists have far fewer voters than they used to, unfortunately.

Pregnancy in YA and Middle Grade Fiction

You can definitely include books about teen pregnancy, but I would love more additions (especially middle grade) with pregnant moms, sisters, aunts, etc. since they're not represented on other lists.
