ANNOUNCEMENT: Fix to Add a New Edition

That's great. As someone else said, it'll be less of a hassle.

Great! This will indeed make things a lot easier.

Today we're releasing a fix for add a new edition (hooray!). When you click the "add a new edition" button from a book page, it will actually create a new edition of the book - not a ..."

Me neither, thanks for the email :)

Also, does that mean that editions that have not been combined until now will also be combined, or do we still have to ask a librarian? :)

It won't work retroactively. Any editions not already combined will still need a librarian.

Damn. ;-) Ok, good to know.

You won't be able to edit work-level data until the edition has been added and automatically combined. However, the work level data will be editable on that edition after you initially add it to the site.

Hi Manjula! If you have duplicates on your bookshelf, you can remove them here. If you combine two books that are your shelves, you will still have two reviews. Try combining the books and then clicking the duplicates link to remove duplicate reviews.

Welcome to Goodreads - we're glad you're here! When you add your paperback to the site and choose "add a new edition," it will be automatically combined with the existing ebook edition - so all ratings and reviews will show up on both book pages.
