Emily wrote: "When you click the "add a new edition" button from a book page, it will actually create a new edition of the book..."Great! This will indeed make things a lot easier.
Nice feature - thanks!Emily wrote: "Hi everyone,

That is super! When I first got the mail I thought oh no, did it automatically combine them before and I did it all before in vain... Now I interpret it that I was wrong and it didn't work before :)

Wee! I was always wondering why it says I'm adding a new edition and in fact it looked like I was adding a new book. :) Thanks.
Well, finally, I'd say. ;-) Of the fews times I added a different edition, I had to ask a librarian to combine it with the original. Also, does that mean that editions that have not been combined until now will also be combined, or do we still have to ask a librarian? :)

It won't work retroactively. Any editions not already combined will still need a librarian.

Damn. ;-) Ok, good to know.
At last. It'll all be so much and easier and faster. Glad for all of you how worked so hard with all “combine..ing". Thanks!!
Excellent news.Saving a few moments for each edition of my books will provide both me and librarians more time to find other great books and read them.

You won't be able to edit work-level data until the edition has been added and automatically combined. However, the work level data will be editable on that edition after you initially add it to the site.

Hi Manjula! If you have duplicates on your bookshelf, you can remove them here. If you combine two books that are your shelves, you will still have two reviews. Try combining the books and then clicking the duplicates link to remove duplicate reviews.
C.S. wrote: "Thanks, I'm new to librarianship and GR authorship too (only a week as both). Does this relate to when I go to add my forthcoming paperback edition of what is currently eBook only? Thanks for your patience, I'm still learning. "
Welcome to Goodreads - we're glad you're here! When you add your paperback to the site and choose "add a new edition," it will be automatically combined with the existing ebook edition - so all ratings and reviews will show up on both book pages.
