Finishing Baby Teeth by Zoje Stage. Not as good as I thought it would be. Be glad to start something else.
The Secret of the Chateau by Kathleen McGurl. Such a good read! I was hesitant at first only because I find some novels that flip back and forth in history can be tedious, but this book keeps you engaged throughout! And I’ve learned so much about the French Revolution - always a plus when historical novels are accurate!
I just started The Cactus last night. I am only 15% into it. The main character reminds me of Eleanor from Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fineso far so good
I just finished The Mountains Sing by Nguyen Phan Que Mai and I’m currently reading The City We Became by N.K. Jemisin.
About to start ‘Shadow of Night’ by Deborah Harkness. Listening to ‘Sag Harbor’ by Colson Whitehead.

I'm reading a great book called "The dead hand -Ia manita muerta" that brings personal stories of people coping with the military regime in Chile in the mid 70sThe Dead Hand - La Manita Muerta
The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern. It is a very unique book and like it a lot. I just got The Starless Sea, so May read that next.

I loved quirky Eleanor. Perhaps I'll like The Cactus too.
I’m reading The Lost Girls of Paris by Pam Jenoff. It’s a WWII era book which I like but it’s taking me a while to get into it. I never give up though.
Just finished Feels Like Falling by Kristy Woodson Harvey and going to start I'm Still Here: Black Dignity In A World Made For Whiteness by Austin Channing Brown.
I just finished reading Ordinary Hazards
. Five big stars!I hope someone like Reese picks this to push as it deserves lots of attention. Here’s my review:

Gretchen wrote: "Always curious about what everyone else is reading and enjoying. Tell us what you've checked out recently!"I just finished "The Milkman" by Anna Burns and found it very realistic. I'm going to read "Year of Wonders" by Geraldine Brooks next.
I just started the four agreements. In the first chapter my eyes have been opened to destructive habits I have allowed myself to fall into. WARNING- this can trigger a little bit of anxiety in my opinion!

History of the American Negro in the Great World War by W. Allison Sweeney. It's research for my next novel.
Michelle wrote: "I’m reading The Lost Girls of Paris by Pam Jenoff. It’s a WWII era book which I like but it’s taking me a while to get into it. I never give up though."I really enjoyed that book, don't give up!!
Just read the Secrets We Kept and I wasn't too impressed with it. I felt like each story could have been its own book and then we could have dived a little deeper into the characters.Next up is An American Marriage
Reading Radical Hope, just personal letters different authors wrote, so interesting and moving. I am also starting Starless Sea, by Erin Morgenstern, Just finishes The Night Circus, so hope I like this one as much.
I’m listening to The Whisper Network and it’s okay. I don’t relate to the corporate world, so I haven’t gotten into it as much as I’d like. I’ve been doubling up on books; usually reading one and listening to one, a thriller and a light hearted chick lit or romance-y type book (not a full out romance novel, but some kind of happy ending 😉). I’m reading Summer at Firefly Beach as well and it’s been good. My favorites that I’ve read this summer have been Beach Read, East Coast Girls, and The Family Upstairs.
I'm reading A Christmas Carol as a light read since I just finished a fantasy series. For some reason, I always need a short or light read every time I finish a series, especially if it's a fantasy. If I don't read something light, I just go into a slump. It's been happening a lot this year, so my reading pace has become a bit slow and my tbr is increasing with the speed of light.
