I just finished the Guest List on Audio and I loved it.
I just finished the Guest List on Audio and I loved it. I read Beach Read and Writers and Lovers together and had a serious Book Hangover this weekend.
I started Next Year In Havana on Audio and it grabbed me right away. I am looking forward to finishing this one tomorrow.
I'm reading Normal People by Sally Rooney. Half way through the book and not sure how I feel about it. Just waiting for something to happen. And the lack of punctuation is driving me a little nuts at the moment. One minute I think I've got the flow of the story happening, then the next I have to reread sections a number of times to understand what's going on...hope I'm not the only one that feels this?

I was also disappointed.
I read The Dutch House and loved it. Tom Hanks narrates the audiobook and I do say that this is the audiobook of the year!

I just finished My Dark Vanessa by Kate Elizabeth Russel. The story was unsettling at times but powerful.

I'm reading News of the World by Paulette Jiles, a National Book Award Finalist. Very well-researched story of a seventy-year-old man and a ten-year-old Kiowa girl traveling through Texas in 1870, just after the Civil War has ended. Movie starring Tom Hanks will be released on Christmas Day this year.

I finished last weekend "Where the crawdads sing" from Delia Owens (read the German translation, because I am German). It is an absolutely wonderful novel. I loved it.

Katie,
I share your opinion of NYIH. Too much redundancy.
I'm reading "Bullet Park" by John Cheever and "The Stand" by Stephen King (a premonition for this 2020!)

A House in the Sky by Amanda Lindhout. The memoir of a Canadian woman and journalist, who along with several men, were kidnapped by Somalian militants and held for ransom for 460 days. It is an amazing story of courage and survival during an indefinably harrowing situation.
