Just finished Where the Crawdads Sing. It was amazing. I think it might be the best book I have ever read. Taking a day in between finishing it and starting a new book because I am still holding onto it. Highly Recommend.

Up there in my top 5 for sure!

I just finished This Tender Land. It is fabulous. I am reading The Odyssey to bolster my understanding of the Greek God references in This Tender Land.

I'm back to taking on two at a time.
I'm back to taking on two at a time. On audio I'm listening to When We Were Vikings by Andrew David MacDonald....Just started this one and getting to know Zelda who is on the spectrum and loves Vikings and their heritage. Don't know where it's going yet but the story intrigues me so far.
In book form it's Have You Seen Luis Velez by Catherine Ryan Hyde... I think this one will be warm and sweet, so far I'm finding that two people who are lonely find each other, but in this case, it's a 16 yr old boy and a 92 yr old woman.
LOL, I just noticed that both of these authors use 3 names! What are the odds?

I just read The Whisper Man and enjoyed it and The Tender Land is on my TBR list. I predicted one part of The Whisper Man but there were still some nice surprises.
After watching Game of Thrones, I'm finally starting to read the first one. I'm also starting to listen to The Water Dancer by Ta'nahesi Coates.

Bibliophagist89 wrote: "Laureen what is the water dancer like? I just got this on my Kindle the other day. He doesn't remember his mother and his father is the master of the home, so I anticipate it wil be sad. The writing is really beautiful but I'm not too far into the story yet. I'll let you know once I get farther in.

Hey There!
I hope you and your family is safe during this time of crisis. I recently made an online book chatting website called- https://book-talks.com. Book-Talks is a platform where passionate readers like you and me and book readers from around the world can come and chat about their favourite books. For e.g. If you’ve read a famous book, then why not chat about the book with readers who have read the same book – share your thoughts on the book, the best moments and scenes in the book, post a fan edit for a part of the book you liked or disliked etc. I really really wish you would check Book-Talks and contribute in its aim for connecting book readers all over the world. Lastly, as said by Lloyd Alexander books are the best form of an adventure then why not share your adventure with others and also be of their adventures.
(PS: Thank you for spending your precious time reading this message. I Pinkie Promise that you will love Book-Talks and Book-Talks loves you back for visiting it.... Thanks again!! Have a wonderful day!)
Please check it out it right now!!! https://book-talks.com and don’t forget to sign up if you like it!!!
I finished two books recently that were both really great. Catch and Kill by Ronan Farrow which was a great look at the Harvey Weinstein allegations among a few others and how major media companies helped these predators by not reporting/covering up. It was great. Definitely recommend.

Catch and Kill by Ronan Farrow which was a great look at the Harvey Weinstein allegations among a few others and how major media companies helped these predators by not reporting/covering up. It was great. Definitely recommend. The other book was completely different, The Islanders by Meg Mitchell Moore, it read like a beach read but had a lot of substance. It was very enjoyable.
Next up for me is Normal People by Sally Rooney. So far I find it great.
Just finished ‘Royal Holiday’ by Jasmine Guillory and now starting ‘Becoming’ by FFL Michelle Obama.

I am always reading a few books at a time. I don't know why I do it - but I do.
The Water Rat of Wanchai - Ian Hamilton
A Beautiful Day in the Neighbourhood - Fred Rogers
Mr. Penumbra's 24 hour Bookstore - Robin Sloan
Just finished: Where the Lost Wander - Amy Harmon - it was my first of hers and now I will definitely be adding more to my TBR. My library even had a few for curbside pickup so I can't wait. Beautiful writing and vivid characters.

I just finished A Good Neighbored and it was one of the best books I’ve ever read. The end will cause you to shed some tears but the read is amazing!

I am done reading Almarina by Valeria Parrella (the only woman candidate to the Italian literary prize Premio Strega 2020) and I have started Mystic River, by Dennis Lehane. Of course I watched the movie, so I know the story but I think I will like it even so.

The other day my dentist described me (to a new employee of his ) as a veracious reader. He said, "this is Karen, but she's not a Karen! She devours books." It's always so funny to see how others perceive us!

I've just finished Catbird: The Ballad of Barbi Prim by Barbara Ostfeld. She was the very first female cantor of the Jewish faith in the history of Judaism. It was a quite interesting personal journey.

Listening to The Only Plane in the Sky. It's devastating and there is so much more to what I already knew. So far it's a compilation of many first hand accounts and it's gut punch over and over.
