Can't believe that the demons threw it away...they were ahead all through the 2nd half...but just kinda slowed down in that last quarter, after dominating the Cats in the 3rd. Bladdy after siren goal, finished them off! But as you said Val..their kicking efficiency wasn't great today.

Ohhh poor Val - I really don't like the sound of your experience of the second Surgery at all. And if that had been your first Op you might have been too un-nerved by it to agree to your second? ;o<Don't be afraid to give them honest feedback on this at your follow-up Appointment as they should, and need to, know for future reference that your Anaesthetic experience really wasn't good the second time around.
I hope the memory of it all fades quickly and that, despite this, your Op was still a complete success ... x x x

The words ‘incision’ and ‘eye’ in the same sentence scare the wits out of me. I’d have to be heavily sedated. My mum’s first op caused a hæmorrhage - her whole eye was bright red - and she had to stay in overnight. I think things have moved on since then (early ‘80s), she wasn’t allowed to bend down or move her head quickly and had to sleep sitting up.

I've got three lots of eyedrops too (in 6 bottles, so three for each eye) and my regime is similar :
Ciloxan (antibiotic) – 4 times a day for 2 weeks
Prednefrin Forte (steroidal anti-inflammatory for pain/swelling/redness) - 4 times a day for 4 weeks
Voltaren Ophtha (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory) - 4 times a day for 2 weeks (I think this acts the same as Acular)
I’ve been told to administer them in that order but looking on-line, I see some places insist on another order and some say the order does not matter! The Voltaren one really stings!
I didn’t have any music. The first time I was out for the count; second time, I could hear people talking but didn’t really take in what they were saying and although I felt some pain, I didn’t “see” anything.
Yesterday I had no trouble at all, walked to the station, got the train, went to the play, etc. Today I went to my daughter’s as a passenger in a car and found the brightness of the day made my eyes water, so donned my charity shop sunglasses. Coming home after dark I did feel that I wouldn’t have been confident driving – that my vision wasn’t sharp enough to make accurate decisions and that on-coming headlights did flare somewhat. I am hopeful that will settle down – your brain does have to readjust from wearing multi-focal lenses to having one eye primed for close work and one for distance. And there’s still a chance I will need glasses anyway.

Thank you for the Christmas wishes - we had a great day although some of the jumpers on display were real crimes against humanity. Starters was a huge (and I mean HUGE) platter of cheeses, dips, breads, cold meats, olives, - and cherries!), main was roast chicken (two nice plump birds), roast potatoes with a cheesy bechamel sauce, sweet corn, and green beans with bacon, toasted almonds and feta. Pud was rhubarb crumble with ice-cream and/or fresh cream. Then coffee, gingerbread men biccies and chocolates. All home-made by my daughter. She got the entertaining gene that I missed. There was also lots of cheesy Christmas music which got dissed in the late afternoon when footy (Eagles/Dogs) came on the telly.
Fantastic! - it sounds like a good time was had by all ;o> ... ;o> ... ;o>

So, you'd perhaps not be inclined to watch 'that' scene in the 1970's exploitation classic....'They Call Her One Eye' (aka Thriller - A Cruel Picture) then! Starring the delectable Christina Lindberg.
Even I winced 'seeing' that scene...it was a real cadaver as well!

I was told to chuck the antibiotics away after a week...and NOT to over instil on the others. The Pred Forte one, the instructions insists on reducing dosage by one 'instilment' each week, starting with 4 times daily, then3, then 2 and so on. The Acular one is fixed at 3 times a daily for the 4 weeks. And yeh..that one does sting a bit doesn't it!
As for which order to take them in..well I asked this, and apparently it doesn't matter, I was told to leave a few minutes between them, for those that get taken together. I've chosen staggered the Steroids & Acular throughout the day separately, so I have to remind myself to do it 6 times daily & not not get the bottle mixed up! This'll reduce to 5 times from later today, as about to start week 3.
As for brightness...well that'll improve soon, there's can be a little fluid build up behind the new lens for a while, which the steroids deal with. I have had that with both eyes, tends to last about 3 or 4 weeks, then it clears up. In the past, I'd always struggled to see clearly in bright sunshine, because of the cataracts, as they disperse the light across the eyes...but not so much now. The left eye is still a little sensitive, but a pair a trendy wrap around shades fixes that. I tells ya...I have dreamed for years to be able to wear wrap round shades, previously denied to me, because of my extreme myopia, meant it wasn't possible to fit my prescription lens in those types of frames. Now I can wear whatever I like...simples pleasures eh! I wish I could've got them done sooner..would've saved me fortunate on expensive prescription spectacles! :-)

Crikey, that an oldie Lez! I have seen that online...very surreal short movie. Quite extraordinary for the era, I wonder what folks made of it at the time? Aside from the eye scene, which was a dead animal of some description...it's the other stuff...the woman getting run over, a man groping another woman's breasts..even nudity was shown. I'm amazed it was ever allowed to be shown, but perhaps, there wasn't much in the way of censorship regulations placed on the movie industry, back then. But I would've thought nudity in any guise would've been disallowed, at a time of relatively conservative morals in the 20's?

cinema called the Palais De Luxe - scouse pronunciation Pally de Loo. Saw lots of great stuff there. RedJohn might remember it?
Les, no, I can't remember the P de L but I have remembered many of the other Liverpool town centre cinemas and more than a few in the suburbs viz. Odeon, Forum, Futurist, Tatler, ABC, Scala, Majestic, Gaumont, Hippodrome, Curzon, Carlton, Empress, Regent. By no means an exhaustive list. Stick the word 'The' in front of all these. A few years ago I was talking with someone from Ipswich who referred to "our Grammar School". They flatly refused to believe that 'we' had about 10/12.
I haven't seen any of the 17 minutes of 'Un Chien Andalou'.

Thanks for that info Lez. from what I can garner online, YouShop is a service provided by NZ Post. There is a similar service in Oz called ShopMate but it seems to only apply when purchasing from the US. At present, currency conversion rates aren't that great for the US - roughly US$1.00 = AUS$1.35. The UK rates are a bit better GB£1.00 = AUS$1.77 so it would be more economic for me to purchase from the UK. However, the sticking point for Zon (wherever) is a recent change in legislation whereby we now have to pay our GST (Goods & Services Tax) on purchases but our Govt is making Zon collect it for them, so you can't really blame Zon for spitting the dummy.
I've recently received an email from Discogs saying that I now have to pay GST on any purchases made but I'm still unclear on it as I thought second-hand goods were exempt from tax and most stuff I buy is second-hand. I haven't noticed any changes on eBay so it's all a bit higgledy-piggledy at present.
