I think you might be right - but at least you will be in very good company ;o>

Tigers - 24 - Tigers have a new record of consecutive wins at the MGC, so they'll get this one too, comfortably.
Bombers - 50/50, Hawks are playing well, but can be unpredictable. The Dons at the top of their game currently, but it'll be tight, Dons to win by no more than a couple of kicks.
Lions - Risky punt, as the Roos will want to keep their finals chances alive, and they play well in rough weather, but the Lions love the warm days, and it's gonna be a hot 'un at the Gabba on Saturday!
Crows - Crows would love nothing more than to upset their rivals and knock 'em off the top 4, plus get revenge for their last meeting, Crows are playing well currently, Port have had a few injuries of late. I reckon the Crows win by a goal or 2.
Saints - No contest.
Magpies - The other toughie, Swans have been playing dreadfully, but both teams have monster injuries lists..so could go either way. I think Black & Whites have the edge.
GIANTS - expect a margin of 50+ and no less..Cameron is back, hooray! :)
Demons - Who'll get the highest margin this week? The Dee's or the Giants?
Eagles - By plenty
Good luck everybody...especially me...it's squeaky bum time! :)

Hope it's a great game tonight. Last week there was a crowd of over 88,000 at the G to see the Richmond/Collingwood game. Could be a hefty number there tonight too.

Richmond Tigers (Philip) v Geelong Cats (awaiting MC)
4.2.26 (Q1) 2.4.16
6.6.42 (Q2) 5.7.37
Richmond had cleared out to a 25 point lead early in the second quarter but Geelong has fought back and now there's only a goal in it.

Tonight's result:
Richmond Tigers (Philip) v Geelong Cats (awaiting MC)
4.2.26 (Q1) 2.4.16
6.6.42 (Q2) 5.7.37
10.11.71 (Q3) 7.8.50
12.13.85 (Q4) 12.10.82
I was on my feet wiling Geelong over the line (even though I tipped Richmond). And ironically, Suzy wins the closest margin, because even though she picked the Cats (x 7) she was 10 points off the mark, while David had picked the Tigers x 15. So $6.00 heads the way of Even Keel - well done Suzy!

Buggered my chances up then. :(
Aw well..there's always next year!

Some real nail biters today. Unfortunately, with a couple of exceptions, most of us are putting up a pretty mediocre score. Do not despair Duke - you're in good company!

It is about all the compensatory Cake ;o>"
Which you've no doubt had plenty of!! ;-)

If Friday's and Saturday's games were marked by how close they were, today's were all blow-outs! Massive margins showed just how much the weaker clubs are struggling.

Round 20 (first number is correct number of wins - you want this to be high; number in brackets is the cumulative margin which is used to separate punters on the same amount of points - you want this to be low)

Congrats to the winners! I reckon tipping even 6 in this round was an achievement so well done Anita and Philip for getting 8. Tech seems to have a fast grip on the No. 1 spot - three rounds to go. Can anyone prise him loose? Do check your scores in case I've made any errors.

If punters could lodge their tips by midnight THURSDAY August 9 (your time) it would be a great help, although I can accept them up until 10.30am FRIDAY August 10 (your time) if absolutely necessary.

Messy match in the that final game...I saw a clip of Gaff's gaff...nasty jaw punch on the young Dockers player...broke the player's jaw, possibly even knocked out a coupla teeth..for no reason at all. So that'll be Gaff's season over. If the tribunal gives him a minimum 8 week suspension..that would be a light punishment imo...he ought to be kicked out the team for that!
Anyhoo, congrats to Anita, Suzy..and er..me! And especially to both Anita & Phil for getting 8 out of that lot of results! :)

Could my Saints afford him? 😀

D'ya think they'll take him, after that incident? The guy just whacked a bunch o' fives, right in the chops of that poor young player...for no reason at all?! Hardly surprising then, that Freemantle got very stroppy after that!

And very well-punted Duke and ... ERRR? ... me! ... x x ;o>

Well they shouid have plenty money in their salary cap because no one at St Kilda deserves to be on big money!
I did see this headline but can't read the article with out a subscription:
St Kilda interested in Andrew Gaff free agency, AFL trades 2018, West ...
https://www.heraldsun.com.au/...gaff....
4 days ago - Saints confirm interest in Andrew Gaff as pair re-signs, breaks put on Freeman ... In more tempered news for the Saints, the club has indicated ...

I don't think it will hurt his chances of a trade IF he wants to leave West Coast. It was out of character and I don't think he has a history at the tribunal, except as a victim. It's a tough game:

Have you tried using a Hammer and Chisel, Val? - LOL!!! ;o>

I can see now, why kids are often affectionately referred to as little monkeys! :)

It's certainly very much a contact game Val...I think only an aussie would want to play a game where broken bones are the norm!
GWS's game was interesting too..as despite the fact that they had nobody left on the bench in that 2nd half...two hospitalised, another two with hamstrings, I think...they still kept putting goals away in the last quarter, even when they were briefly down to 16 men!
Mind you...dunno what effect that'll have for the remaining games to come...but they should be okay, so long as they don't lose anymore players! Next round is a home game, against the crows, so should be a breeze for the Giants.....dunno about the following week's game against the Swans though.
Round 23 should be a corker though, GWS versus Demons...oh yas! :)

Andrew Gaff's season is over, and he may have played his last game for West Coast after being suspended for eight matches by the AFL tribunal on Tuesday for his left-arm strike which broke the jaw of Andrew Brayshaw, leaving the Fremantle youngster unable to eat solids for a month.
After a more than two-hour hearing, the tribunal jury of Wayne Henwood, David Neitz and Shane Wakelin took 14 minutes to deliberate before settling on their penalty after the Eagles star pleaded guilty to the charge of intentional conduct with severe impact to the head, stemming from Sunday's Western derby at Optus Stadium.
Issuing a short statement as he left the tribunal, Gaff said the previous 48 hours had been the toughest of his life.
“First of all I just want to say I’m so, sorry to Andrew and the Brayshaw family for the pain I’ve caused them over the last 48 hours," Gaff said.
“I respect the Brayshaw boys so much, and the way they go about it. I’m really disappointed, I own my actions, and it really hurts a lot.
“The last 48 hours have probably been the toughest couple of days of my life. People that I’ve spoken to, and people that have seen me throughout that time, know the world of pain I’m in, and how much I’m suffering. I see myself as a caring, gentle and measured person, and that’s why it’s disappointing, so much more.
“I'm disappointed, disappointed for Andrew, disappointed in myself, I’m disappointed for letting my teammates down at an important time of the year, and I’m disappointed for letting my supporters down as well.
“For the time being I’m going to surround myself with my friends and family, and those who care for me most.
“But once again, I just want to apologise wholeheartedly to Andrew and I hope he gets better soon."
AFL counsel Jeff Gleeson QC had argued for a penalty of between eight and 12 weeks, claiming that the incident was “unrestrained in its execution, ferocious in his impact, and grave in its consequences.”
Gaff’s advocate David Grace QC argued that such a penalty would be “manifestly excessive”.
Gaff gave evidence that it was not his intention to hit Brayshaw in the head, claiming he was aiming to hit Brayshaw in the chest, as he had done only moments before the fateful blow.
“I feel sick that I hit Andrew in the face. [I had] absolutely no intention to hit him where I hit him. I tried to do a similar hit as to what I did about 10 seconds earlier with my right arm,” Gaff said.
“Once I saw him lying on the ground i just instantly felt sick. Mentally I didn't want to keep playing. Physically I was able to keep playing…[but] I felt shattered.”
Mr Grace submitted that across approximately 270 games of football at all levels, Gaff had never been reported, fined or reprimanded.
Mr Grace also presented vision of several incidents in the lead-up to the strike, highlighting that Gaff’s run had repeatedly been impeded by his opponents.
These incidents included scragging from Brayshaw on Gaff only moments before the major blow. That led Gaff to create space between the pair by using his non-dominant right arm to strike Brayshaw’s chest.
Gaff said he had been confident of striking Brayshaw in the chest again, claiming Brayshaw’s downward movement had caused the Docker to be hit high on the second occasion, rather than in the chest, as had occurred only seconds earlier.
In cross-examination, Gaff rejected a suggestion from Mr Gleeson that the Eagle had swung as hard as he could in the process of landing the second punch, which unlike the earlier strike was made with his dominant arm.
Gaff also rejected Mr Gleeson’s clam that the Eagle had acted out of frustration.
Character evidence in the form of statements from an abundance of people including former Carey Grammar school principal Phil De Young, Eagles Brownlow medallist Matt Priddis, and representatives from several charities with which Gaff has been involved.
In one statement, former Eagles coach John Worsfold recalled times Gaff had been subjected to repeated targeting from taggers, with the now-Essendon coach saying Gaff “never reacted because it was just not in his nature”.
Fremantle doctor Ken Withers gave evidence via telephone that the blow had “badly displaced” the alveolar bone in Brayshaw’s mandible. Brayshaw underwent surgery following the incident, and Dr Withers reported that four of Brayshaw’s lower teeth, and one of his upper teeth, may not be viable, meaning the teenage Docker may need dental implants.
