Latterly he’d been a Clerk of Works so had been exposed to all sorts of noxious substances. He had to fight for years for compensation. I understand he’d been pretty much housebound for the last couple of years as he needed an oxygen mask a lot of the time.

Foe wins the closest margin comp. He tipped Port by 48 points so $6.00 goes to Launch Housing. Nice work! I wouldn't be surprised if Grizzly takes out the cash for highest score this round but we'll have to wait and see. Port looked fantastic tonight. They come up against Melbourne next round but it will be in Adelaide so I'm pretty sure I know who I'll be tipping!
There's going to be tight battle for the 8 this year..as there's quite a few teams that haven't been doing so well in previous years...now creaming it this season. Be interesting to see where Magpies, Demons & Port end up in the ladder. And will the Hawks, Crows and the Giants get pushed out this season? All v v exciting!Anyhoo, well done Nick...again! Racking up quite a nice booty this season! I hope Red John gets something soon...he's yet to break his duck, poor lamb! :)

Classic game Blastro! Wasn't sure who to cheer on, towards the end of the game I wanted it to be Spain. Contender for game of the tournament after just 4 games played.
Currently watching the France v Australia game, that French penalty....hmmm.
How ya doin Foe? Yeah France get more than their sure of questionable decisions go in their favour imo, and not just in football. I've said it before many times - Australia football team always give good value and they fear nobody.
Tbh honest bud, I was rooting for Portugal. Don't get me wrong, Spain are fantastic to watch; I just get a bit sick of their domination of club and national footie. Ok they didn't win the WC last time out but I reckon they gotta be among the favourites do win this time around. Also, Portugal have the same patron saint as us... I think. : )

Just finished the France-Australia game. Didn't exactly set the world on fire but at least we weren't completely disgraced. I did think that Hernandez, who went down three times like he was dying, was a real wuss.Other than that, no complaints. I thought the ref was very fair. The first penalty may have been line-ball - I thought Risdon got a touch on the ball but our commentators here are so biased, you're never going to get a fair verdict from them. Oh well, losing by a goal to the most expensive team in the tournament isn't too bad.

I was at a play this arvo and couldn't believe the Freo score! Apparently Carlton supporters booed their team off the field. And what happened to the Suns in the final quarter???? I thought they were home and hosed. Adelaide stuck with the Hawks until half time but then it was all over red rover.
Our two leaders, tech and Sussex, have got all the results right so far but there will only be one winner after tomorrow's game.
Hi Blastro I'm good thanks. :-) And he was exactly the reason I wanted Spain to win tbh. Don't get me wrong he is one special football player, but he will always be remembered by me for that infamous wink in a previous World Cup encounter against England, the huge winker! On the other hand, Spain had the equally hated Diego Costa, a thug if ever there was one! Quite funny then that Iran top the group.I ran the World Cup sweepstake at work, and ended up with Senegal. :-( Take care mate!
Gotta say..i'm laughing my head off at Argentina....go Iceland! :)Argentina, a team that suffered the indignity of losing 6 - 1 to Spain in a friendly back in March..and now couldn't beat Iceland today. Not looking good for them this year. I'm liking that Icelandic goalkeeper..he had a busy day today! :)
BTW...does anybody else think as I do, that Russia's score in the opening game ..smells just a wee bit fishy? The lowest ranking team in the comp, whom ranked 70th, so only in it cos the qualify automatically as the host team...and they managed 5-0 against the Saudis? Especially given that Putin was present at the game, and let's face it..he ain't a man ya wanna upset, the ex KGB officer, who's political opponents on the run up the GE either 'disappeared' or were imprisoned? Those suspicious poisoning cases....let's face it....if I were the coach of the Russian team..i'd be very worried!

I agree with you Duke. I'd like to think that it was a genuine score line but I'm a little bit suspicious.
naw, i just think the opposition was poor. i mean, why would the saudis need to be bought off, not short of a bob or two. i'll be surprised if the russians don't get to last 8 or better.
I foresee more upsets in the next round...some great matches coming up, the Swans v Eagles & Cats v Tigers games, will be interesting matches.
