Hiya, Team Caps! Thanks for volunteering to guide your team through a round of BookShelf Bingo! Your job, should you choose to accept it, will require a few things:
1 ~ Be our go-to person should we have any questions about your team
2 ~ Organize your teammate's weekly reads for each shelf/category so that the BSB Ninjas can quickly and easily verify and approve your stamp request(s)
2a ~ Create a master list in a post (preferably on the first page of your team's thread) and update it weekly or as often as necessary
2b ~ Post your team's stats on the Captain's Log prior to requesting a stamp
3 ~ Encourage and motivate your team (you may also ask to borrow Judithe's whip whenever necessary)
4 ~ Post regularly to ensure your team is communicating and on track each week
4a ~ Send them a PM and friendly poke if they haven't posted at least once a week, noted their book choice, and/or appear to have dropped out of webspace
5 ~ Send us a PM (Steph, Sandra or Judithe) should you need us for any reason throughout the game
Hello team 5 . I am looking forward to starting. I am swamped right now so don’t want to captain. Hopefully one of you lovely teammates will be willing 😀
Hello teammates! I'm not so good with names but I was thinking maybe something to do with the fact that we're team 5. So I came up with
The Jiving Five
The Flashy Fivers
Five Urban Queens
Five Flashy Readers or Queens
But I'm good with whatever. LOL
Hi everyone!!I swear every time I play this game I'm Team 5 lol! It's so nice to meet you all. I don't have the time right now to be Captain.
Carmen, I love your suggestions!
I like The Flashy Fivers, or we could do The Flashy Five.
Where is everybody from? I'm in SoCal.
I'm good with "The Flashy Five" I'm ok with being captain. I'm from New York, married with 5 kids and our dog Dutchess :D
I love Flashy FiversI live in Colorado retired, have 2 kids no grand kids . We love to travel. Thanks Carmen for being the captain.
Hi guys :D I'm in a very strange time zone. I'm from New Zealand, and it is not 1:32pm on the 7th March XD I'm 20 years old in my final year of uni, so I'm pretty swamped with uni work as well as actual work and gym and study, and still manage to get time in to read. It's a bloody mission. Thanks for PMing me that link too :) Appreciated!
Sarah, I am originally from SoCal . Grew up in Simi Valley, graduated from SDSU and lived with hubby in Redondo before coming to Co.
Yeah tomorrow will be good :D I don't have many challenges at the moment, so getting back into both this and Pass the Parcel will be great :D
Leslie wrote: "Sarah, I am originally from SoCal . Grew up in Simi Valley, graduated from SDSU and lived with hubby in Redondo before coming to Co."That's awesome! I grew up in Orange County and now live in the Inland Empire.
For the Futuristic Romance shelf I am picking Of Beast and Beauty by Stacey Jay. I have both the audiobook and hardcover so I'll probably flip between the two.For the Free Space I'll be reading The Trouble with Twelfth Grave by Darynda Jones it is on the Group Bookshelf.

Yay I'm so pleased to be back with this challenge :D I can't be any more than 3 books behind for this challenge right? I'm just checking because I'm currently reading Acomaf and that's a big one so will take a while..
Is it possible to compare lists with that one? So I can see what of those books I have on my shelves?
Not my favorite Genre.... but here goesI will read Red Rising for Popular Futuristic Romance Books
And
Cress
for my free space
Oh wait I started it before shelf call. Man that's so frustrating! Oh well I'll count #3 then, because I'm reading that soon XD
When do I have to do that by? I'm just waiting to see if my audiobook comes in at the library. If it does then I'll do that book, but if not then I'll pick a physical.
Maddison wrote: "When do I have to do that by? I'm just waiting to see if my audiobook comes in at the library. One thing that seriously annoyed me about that shelf was that I swear ever 2nd or 3rd page was duplicated 2-3 times in the following pages. I was so sick of it. So pointless.I might need to read Mockingjay :/ That's the only one I own on that list that I haven't read recently.
Maddison wrote: "And I can't get more than 3 calls behind can I?"Yes, you can't get behind 3 books.
Maddison wrote: "Ah okay, so I can change my selection whenever?"
Not exactly whenever but if needed. The link to the rules are above if need more info.

Yes, sometimes repetitive books are in the same genre link. It happens and can be very annoying. Lol
Okay thanks :) In that case I'll have to post a selection for the audio, because I don't have time to read Mockingjay.
Selection Post
How it fits: On that futuristic romance list
That everything that's needed? I won't be back on my laptop until tomorrow, but will be on my phone.

Review: I wasn't sure how I was going to like this but I found it interesting and liked all the characters even the bad ones. Joanne a cop/mechanic is hit with a shocker but she handles it well even with the attempts on her life and the lack of sleep. Oh and so love Coyote. He always pops up at the right time.

Review: This was my first book by this author and I've saw other friends give it good reviews. So I finally read it and enjoyed it. I guess opposite do attract but I think it because Sascha is different. She isn't like the other Psys. Even though she's supoosed to do a job and Psys are supposed to be unfeeling, she's different and if she's considered broken then she would have to be rehabilitated or kill which is just horrible. Well the changelings are different. They care for everyone in their pack and show Sascha a lotmore than she came for especially Lucas the alpha and the hotty that Sascha learns a lot more than she expects.

Review:
I bought this book a long time ago, and I've been hesitant to read it, but my goal this year is to read a lot of books that I've had for a long time. I just need to move things out of my collection. I know I was really interested in the book, because I bought, but when I picked it I didn't read what it was about. I vaguely recalled that it was set on a different planet, and that was it.
I'm so glad I went in blind. Sometimes that works better for me, because then I don't have expectations. I really liked the world and loved Gem and Isra! They were such good characters. This was the first book I've read by Stacey Jay, and I'm already eager to read something else by her.
The world building was done very well. I liked that it was a twist on the traditional story of Beauty and the Beast. It was refreshing and I enjoyed it.

Review:
I am definitely in the minority here , so don't shoot me. I had some issues with this book. I wanted to like it and I did try to keep in mind that this is a YA book. I have enjoyed other YA books the Hunger games and Harry Potter are fine examples of excellent YA literature. Cress is not in this category. I almost rated it 2 stars so it's really a 3 - for me.
What I liked:
1. I really like the land that the author has created . Lunar and Earth are very interesting and actually I wish more was spent on describing the surroundings.
2. Storyline - although in this book it did get a little crowded with too many characters. I can see where the author is headed and I will probably read Winter. I may take a few weeks off , before I attempt it.
3. Cinder - I really enjoy this character. She has spunk and she could really do better than Kai.
What I didn't like:
CRESS!!!!!!!!! she was very annoying to me. I listened to this book on audio and the dialog when Cress and Throne were speaking was excruciating. I know this is a YA book , but really I know our youth is much more intelligent than these conversations give them credit for. I don't know if it was the audio voice or if I had read it I wouldn't feel the same . However I am not l going to read it again.
Sorry Cress lovers.....
