I'm about half way through The Raven Boys (The Raven Cycle, #1) by Maggie Stiefvater and really enjoying it! It's very original and mysterious..... : )"

I'm just in chapter five, and so far it seems interesting. What I really like are the different POV

Susan | 169 comments I'm beginning chapter 23. I won't tell you any secrets. : )
I like the different POV as well and then how they start intertwining...

The story just gets better and better as it goes. I liked book 2 even better, personally. I really hope you both love this book as much as I did.

Jasna Nickells | 20 comments I've recently been reading the whole series of Mortal instruments and those were a fantastic series of books. I'm now reading infernal devices. They are also really good.

message 169: by Andrea (new)

Andrea (alexandra14) | 112 comments I'm reading The Dream Thieves

message 170: by Tommy (new)

Tommy Hancock (tommyhancock) | 318 comments Finished Theodosia and the Serpents of Chaos (Theodosia Throckmorton, #1) by R.L. LaFevers last night. I enjoyed, but did not love it. If you're looking for a series involving magic(Egyptian curses in particular) starring a very smart and enjoyable young girl(eleven), I'd consider this one.

I'm going to start Legacy Code (Legacy Code #1) by Autumn Kalquist later tonight. It's book one of a scifi series that I got to review. Seems to be more space fairing than dystopian, which I welcome at the moment.

message 171: by Nikita (new)

Nikita I finished Mockingjay (The Hunger Games, #3) by Suzanne Collins yesterday and now I'm ready for the movie. I'm going to start The Iron King (The Iron Fey, #1) by Julie Kagawa tomorrow.

message 176: by Tommy (new)

Tommy Hancock (tommyhancock) | 318 comments Since I last commented I finished:

Legacy Code (Legacy Code #1) by Autumn Kalquist which I really liked. Kind of a really intense drama in space. It felt more "grown up" to me than most YA books I read, but I really enjoyed it and would recommend it to anyone looking for a change of pace.

also, Avatar The Last Airbender - The Search by Gene Luen Yang a graphic novel that takes place after the end of the TV show. If you watched the show, I recommend this. If you haven't, I recommend watching it, then reading this. Love this series in all its incarnations :)

I'm now reading The Knife of Never Letting Go (Chaos Walking, #1) by Patrick Ness I'm a little less than halfway done. Not much of a clue what's going on, but I'm liking it. The intense scenes are like :O

message 177: by Audryaunna (last edited Nov 21, 2014 06:21PM) (new)

Audryaunna | 119 comments I am still trying to get through The 5th Wave I think it going to take me a long while to get through but I am not going to give up on it. I am also reading Split it is really good so far.

message 178: by Audryaunna (new)

Audryaunna | 119 comments Angie you are right. Maybe that is what I need to do, put it down and pick it up later.

Tommy Hancock (tommyhancock) | 318 comments Angie wrote: "Have you read A Monster Calls by Patrick Ness? Such a good book. I really want to read That series you are reading. "

I have not. This is my first Ness book. It sounds up my alley, and I will for sure pick it up in one of my next library visits :)

Have you(or anyone else here) read I Kill Giants by Joe Kelly ? It's a short comic series/graphic novel(easy 1-2 day read), but it's so bleeping beautiful. It's YA(main character is a high school nerd girl who plays DND) and sounds up your alley, based on how A Monster Calls sounds.

message 180: by Tommy (new)

Tommy Hancock (tommyhancock) | 318 comments Angie wrote: "Tommy wrote: "No I haven't read that. I've never read a comic book or a graphic novel. I want to but I just haven't gotten to it."

We're opposites on that front. If not for comics when I was a kid, I may not be a reader right now. I Kill Giants would be a really good one to dive in with, if you're ever so inclined :)

Tommy Hancock (tommyhancock) | 318 comments Angie wrote: "I grew up reading The Babysitters Club, Sweet Valley Twins and that stuff."

Nice :) For me it was Marvel comics, Goosebumps, then branched out from there.

Yes. So, soooo good haha. I'd consider it a must read even for non-YA fans.
