Angel Mine by Sherryl Woods Angel Mine by Sherryl Woods in paperback
It was a great book and story line. Heather loves her work as an actress, but raising a 3 year old on her own in New York has become too hectic. It is time Angel's father Todd discovers the truth that he has a daughter. Heather is on a mission to head to Whispering Wind, Wyoming to tell him and make him take some responsibility for her and to help her out raising Angel. It is fun to read how this turns out and how Todd approaches this new discovery. Todd can't trust himself with any child after a past tragedy that he has kept to himself for many years. I especially loved Angel and her antics. All the characters were well developed and strong. The only reason I didn't give it a higher rating is because it was just too drawn out. This back and forth between Heather and Todd and Todd's secret just went on too long and became boring. I would still recommend it as a sweet romance with humor added. It was touching and sweet at the end. 3 stars

The Highlander's Enigmatic Bride A Scottish Historical Romance Novel by Lydia Kendall The Highlander's Enigmatic Bride: A Scottish Historical Romance Novel by Lydia Kendall as an ARC on Kindle
A very good book set in Scotland and in England. Isabel, daughter of the Duke of Gordon is out for revenge for her brothers death in an ambush from the Scots. She takes her lady Charlotte and goes off to Scotland to kill the head of the Scottish clan Laird Edan who she thinks is the one who killed him. She is taken captive and her maid is sent back. Although she is kept prisoner, Edan and Isabel find an attraction with each other. Edan does not know that Isabel is James, her brother and his good friend's sister. Isabel lives with the conflict of falling in love with the man and wanting to murder him in revenge for her brother. This story was full of romance, turns and twists, intrigue and mystery. All the characters, good and evil, were strong and well defined. Although I felt the story was a bit too drawn out, it was still a fun historical romance to read. Very enjoyable
**I was given this free book in advance and this is my honest review** 5 stars

Family Tree by Susan Wiggs Family Tree by Susan Wiggs in paperback
I really enjoyed this book and the story line. It was so happy at times then so sad at times. A story of a courageous woman who had it all. Or she thought she did, until circumstances stripped her of a year of her life, memory, a career, a husband and unborn baby. A story of love, courage, determination and family. However I found this book too drawn out with a lot of unnecessary dialogue and past reflections. I felt it could have been condensed and still have the strong story. I loved the characters in the book. I felt the ending was too fast. After reading and reading all the other parts, I felt it was just ended quickly to get the book finished. But all in all, I enjoyed it immensely and would recommend it to read. 4 stars

Just Before Sunrise by Carla Neggers Just Before Sunrise by Carla Neggers on Kindle
This book is full of unexpected characters and many twists and turns. People are brought together over a painting of a dead heiress and painted by the woman who went missing right after the murder. Now she is back and all of San Francisco is turned upside down trying to find out who murdered two people. Annie and Garvin seem to be like oil and water. Otto is the big dog who seems to actually bring them together. This book was full of romance, intrigue and suspense. The downside is, is that I thought it was way to drawn out and I quit counting all the times Garvin said "Annie." It was like a cut and paste expression. I have enjoyed this author for many years, but this wasn't one of my favorites. I still would recommend it if you can past a few issues. 3 stars

A Cold Winter's Love by Natalie Dean A Cold Winter's Love: Wagon Train RomanceBeginning as an ARC by Natalie Dean and Eveline Hart on Kindle. "A Cold Winter's Love"
I found the story line very interesting and was educational of learning about the struggles on the Oregon Trail. The story reads quickly and is filled with many twists and turns. The two main female characters are very independent woman from totally different backgrounds. The two main men characters are also very independent and know what they want. Also totally different backgrounds. Sometimes it is best not be too sure of themselves though. Unfortunately, I did not read the books leading up to this one, so many times I found myself totally lost in the story and found it at times very confusing. I would still recommend this book but would suggest reading the others prior. 3 stars
**Received this book free from the author as part of the ARC team. This is my honest review.**

Shades of Wrath (Caprice De Luca Mystery #6) by Karen Rose Smith Shades of Wrath by Karen Rose Smith in paperback
Another great book in the Caprice De Luca series. Karen Rose Smith has a way of bringing important and serious topics into her book in a very delicate and educational ways. Adding with suspense, intrigue and sometimes humor. This book's subject deals with domestic abuse and violence. In this story Caprice is helping in decorating an old tutor-style mansion that has been donated to Sunrise Tomorrow, a foundation that assists women who are dealing with domestic violence. Wendy is in charge and working with Caprice until Wendy is found murdered in the house. In Wendy's line of work, the list of murder suspects seems endless. But again, Caprice finds herself smack dab in the middle of the investigation. It was a great book and I love being involved with her family again and see that her relationship with Grant is on the up-swing. The characters, topics and fur babies keep you highly interested. This was a book that was hard to put down. I wasn't even able to guess this time who dunnit was. If you like a story filled with suspense, a little romance, love of family and friends and lots of pets, you will truly love this. 5 stars

Promise of Redemption (Searching Hearts, #5) by Ellie St. Clair Promise of Redemption by Ellie St. Clair as ARC on Kindle
The plot of the book was pretty much like others. Daniel Harrington is next in line for the title of Duke of Ware, but has hidden away in his country home for years after finding his fiance' murdered. He thinks he knows who did it and will never rest until he makes him pay. But his father wants an heir and will no longer support him unless he marries. His anger and sorrow has made him realize that he will never love again. Lady Christina Jamieson 's father has always held a low opinion of her and this is a way he can get her married off. All the characters are strong and well defined and the story is interesting. I enjoy it when the female character is strong and independent. I thought Daniel was a bit of a creep and I thought he didn't deserve Christina. The book had some romance but it was mostly mystery and suspense. Never expected the ending and the who-dunnit really was. 4 stars

Million Dollar Cowboy (Cupid, Texas #5) by Lori Wilde Million Dollar Cowboy by Lori Wilde in paperback
Kaia is all grown up and Ridge can see that she has become a gorgeous, hot woman after being estranged from his family for 10 years. Ridge is back for his best friends wedding who happens to also be Kaia's brother. Kaia has had a crush on Ridge since she tagged along with her brother and him when she was little. Seeing him again has only matured those feelings for him. But Ridge has so much baggage, anger and disillusionment with his family, he feels incapable for loving or forgiving anyone and just works constantly to prove himself and run away from his past. The story line for this book was great, but I had a hard time enjoying it as there was just too much description of everything and very little dialogue. I found myself skipping many pages after hearing the same descriptions over and over. This book could have been cut in half and have the same great story line if she hadn't wasted so much time describing everything and everyone. 2 stars

Temptation of Fire (The McDougalls #4) by Audrey Adair Temptation of Fire as an ARC on Kindle by Audrey Adair
I really enjoyed this fun, fast moving story. Gwen has spent her life around thieves and has just one more job to do for her Doc. Unfortunately she has been captured by Roderick McDougall back in the North West. Forced to give up the names and places of the rest of gang in return of her father, Doc, and given passage back to Scotland where she can let Doc, who is very ill, die in his homeland. Roderick has been issued to be their guard and escort. Unbeknownst to them, part of the gang is following them back to reclaim something Gwen has. Attraction between them may be their greatest joy or their unending. I really enjoyed how this story played out with all of the characters. Romance, twist and turns, love and family and two very independent, strong willed characters. This can be read as a stand alone novel. I would definitely recommend it. 5 stars

Mending the Duke A Smithfield Market Regency Romance Book 3 by Rose Pearson Mending the Duke: A Smithfield Market Regency Romance: Book 3 an ARC by Rose Pearson on Kindle
One soul of a Duke that needs mending, one sister who doesn't know how to bring her brother out of his darkness after losing his wife and child in child birth two years ago, and an orphanage that one woman is trying to fill the love in for 13 children. Lady Alice feels if John, the Duke of Royston would just be around a child and lovely woman, he would let go of his anguish and grief. Laura and an orphan child are brought to his home. This is a very touching, warmhearted story. Full of love, passion, compassion and new beginning. The only thing I didn't care for was I felt it overly sappy and not much "historical". So I only gave it three stars. But I would certainly recommend it as a wonderful Historical Romance. 3 stars

Starting "Second Chance Christmas: Palm Grove Tales" by Kristin Wallace as an ARC on Kindle
Second Chance Christmas by Kristin Wallace: Mia Reynolds spent one romantic night at Christmas with Win Barrington, the son of the wealthy Barrington family. Mia finds herself pregnant and when she goes to tell Win about it, she is side blinded by his "fiance" and Win's father. She has no other choice then to leave and raise her daughter alone. Now, finding out she can't raise her daughter alone, keep her apartment and be employed, she is going back to make Win responsible. This book is so heartwarming. Full of emotion, second chances, family and community. It has twists and turns, emotional uncertainties, and love unconditional. And bringing back the characters from the Heiress Games was priceless. I would give this over 5 stars if I could

Who could possible have a grudge against the man and Santa. Caprice finds herself involved of finding information on who killed Chris, in addition to planning for her wedding and her house staging.
