Gem | 214 comments Hi, I'm Gem. I'm not new to the group, I joined in 2016 however due to some health issues and an unexpected surgery this past year I haven't read much the last have of the year. I vastly reduced the number of books for my annual reading challenge and didn't complete the other ones. I'm going to try again this year and hope I don't fall off the bandwagon again. I wanted to say thank you to the mods and members who so kindly showed me encouragement as I began setting up my member corner and goals for 2018. Your encourage means a lot.

Fortunately I haven't lost my passion. I had surgery on my dominant hand and couldn't hold a book or my tablet comfortably. I am doing multiple group reads (and leading a few). I'm open to buddy reads but the selection would have to fit into my reading plan for the year.

Cassie | 370 comments Hello! I'm Cassie, a full time teacher from New Hampshire. I most enjoy reading historical fiction and/or non-fiction but have been known to thoroughly enjoy young adult fiction as well. I am trying to branch out of my normal reading habits a bit and try some new topics or genres. I recently joined a book club at the school I work at, so hopefully that will help keep me on track with my reading goals!

My goal for 2018 is to beat my number in 2017 (9 so far, I might hit 10 before New Years). I would like to read at least one book per month, but that doesn't always happen during the school year.

message 234: by Hannah (new)

Hannah | 8 comments Hi everyone, my name is Hannah and I am from Horsham in West Sussex, UK.

I love reading but always want to read more so I set my own personal challenge in 2017 of 50 books, I am two away from meeting my target. I wanted to build on this for 2018 and I came across this group which I hope will help but I also wanted to chat with like minded bookworms about books I am reading and join in the monthly challenge.

I love reading the classics, crime and detective fiction and historical romances. My favourite books include (but not limited to), The Moonstone, Jane Eyre, His Dark Materials trilogy, War and Peace, The Mysterious Mr Quin, Persuasion, The Infernal Devices trilogy, The Portrait, The Paris Winter, The Daughter of Time, Shades of Grey, The Woman he Loved Before.

I hope to discuss lots of books with everyone going forward.

Hannah xx

Moon | 1 comments Hi, My name is Muna and I'm a trainiee teacher from London.
I started my reading journey when I was 15 years old and since then, I have read a variety of books. I found out that I have an eclectic taste when it comes to the kind of books that I like to read. I haven't really met anyone who likes to read as much as I do which is a shame really.
I've come across this page today and I thought that it would be really great to meet some like minded people to share book reviews with and recommend some great books to each other!

I look forward to all future discussions.
Take care :)

Mntnmama | 4 comments Hi I am from Nevada. I love all kinds of fiction, but love a good mystery. I also read history (especially WWI) and enjoy a good autobiography. I joined the 2017 reading challenge in the late summer and rushed to get 25 books read. I didn't want to miss out this upcoming year so I searched the Good Reads website until I found the 2018 group. I would like to read 50 books this year (okay, still flexing my reading muscles)

Kaleigh Norkum-Mathieu (kaleighnorkum) Hello Everyone!

I am Kaleigh and I am from Ottawa, Canada. I have been on Goodreads for a long time but this is the first time I have really joined a group. I joined the group because I was interested in expanding into a more diverse range of books to read in the new year and people suggested the Popsugar 2018 challenge. I looked up the challenge and it brought me to this community.

I like to read basically everything, I go wherever my mood takes me. I am a huge comic book nerd though, my interests there are mainly surrounding female protagonists. Last year my reading goal was 46 books and I surpassed that, this year I hope to read 61 books.

message 247: by Juliet (new)

Juliet | 3 comments Hello Everyone. My name is Juliet, and I am from Belize in Central America. I just love reading just about everything. In 2018, I wanted to expand into some of the areas that I have been reading much of - such as science fiction/fantasy, books from foreign authors (especially about countries I would like to know more about), and some classics.

I came across this group while browsing goodreads. I was looking for a group on reading challenges that I could join to keep motivated, as well as keep track of what I've read. My goal is to read 150 books in 2018. I already see that several others have the same goal, so I am pretty excited.

Best of luck everyone! Looking forward to hearing about the books you all are reading.

I actually started reading a book a week in September and I blog about it every Monday on my book review blog www.52goodbooks.com Do drop by to see what I'm up to. I look forward to seeing what everyone is reading in the coming year!

All the best everyone,

Loay Gouda (loaygouda) | 2 comments Hello, I'm Loay from Egypt. I like to read lots of different genres but mainly mystery, drama, history-related and science books.
My 2018 challenge will be to read not less than 30 books. Hopefully, I will be able to do so as I have a lot of free time on my way to and from college.
I joined this group to get motivated about achieving my goal and getting to know new friends.
