15.6 – Hoping, Wishing, Trying…….. Read a NONFICTION book that involves something you’d like to do in 2018, a goal or an aspiration or even a faint hope!

I read the The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up: The Japanese Art of Decluttering and Organizing by Marie Kondo. My goal this year is to transform my home through tidying, and hoping to downsize enough to move into a smaller apartment!

15.10 –Trash to Treasure Using the “read” list for any of your GR friends, read a book that your friend gave only 1 or 2 stars, but that sounds like a book you might like. This must be a book that you’ve never read before.

I read Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert. My GR friend Olivia Hinebaugh gave this book 2 stars, and I had not previously read it.

20.4 – My February Baby. Option 2: Mercutio will be 16 this February. Read a book that’s #1 or #6 in a series.

I read An Irish Country Doctor (Irish Country #1) by Patrick Taylor.

20.6 – IT’S BEHIND YOU! Option 1: Read a book with a title/subtitle where the same consonant appears EXACTLY three times OR the title/subtitle contains all of B, G and D.

I read Big Little Lies by Liane Moriarty. The letter L appears exactly 3 times in the title.

20.7 – Animal Lovers Unite. Option 4: Read a book where the author's first and last initial (ignore middle initials) can be found in either ACROBAT or TEACHER. REQUIRED. indicate which word you used.

I read The Hundred Secret Senses by Amy Tan. The letters A and T both appear in the word ACROBAT.

25.7 – My Second Favorite Pastime.

Book 1: Read a book that has a word in its title or subtitle that contains exactly 9 DIFFERENT letters. Letters can be repeated, but repeated letters only count once.

I read Unbroken: A World War II Story of Survival, Resilience and Redemption by Laura Hillenbrand. The word REDEMPTION contains 9 different letters

Book 2: Read a book written by an author whose name contains exactly 9 letters. Repeated letters count as many times as they appear. All middle names or initials count towards the total.

I read The Light Between Oceans by M.L. Stedman.

30.3 – Mad Max; My Heart. This is a two book task. Read one book from two different options.

Option 3: Work -> Read a book with the main page genre mystery, detective, crime, or thriller. Genre may be embedded or standalone

I read Redemption Road by John Hart.

Option 5: Travel -> Read a book with main page genre travel. Genre may be embedded or standalone.

10.7- What's Your Favorite Hobby?

Read a novel (fiction) in which your favorite hobby is prominently featured.

My favourite hobby is (surprise suprise) reading so I read The Little Shop of Happily Ever After. This book is about a book loving librarian who is retrenched from her role in Birmingham. She moves to Scotland, buys a van and decks it out as a mobile book van. She goes around the small Scottish towns in the highlands and recommends books. She talks about books as if they are her children and reads a lot through the book.

I am going to remove The Trick is to Keep Breathing from 25.5 Tien’s All in the Family

And replace it, so that the task looks like this:

Book 1: I read The Cellist of Sarajevo by Steven Galloway
Book 2: I read Living with No Excuses: The Remarkable Rebirth of an American Soldier by Noah Galloway

There is no change in points for this substitution. Then I will add:

10.7 Favorite Hobby Hobby: Swimming. I read The Swim Book by James Wagenvoord.

10.10 Safari I read The Longest Way Home: One Man's Quest for the Courage to Settle Down by Andrew McCarthy, w/ “Travel” as a GR genre.
